  3. That or a used 20ga. Saiga. Second the Saiga 20. They're reliable, rugged and take magazines for higher capacity and faster reloads. Plus, they're fairly cheap. +1 it is a great choice! 8. Fortunately, this won't happen until September, so it won't affect the boogie season. Bill you know that you and I disagree on most everything but that was funny! 10. ha..... they are scary! I will say that North or South it happens everywhere! I just think the yanks are better at being PC and goo ol dixie tells it how it is. I live in Covington KY (southern Cincinnati) it is right on the other side of the Ohio River and I have lived in areas farther north.... it is no different than what I saw being in the south. 11. not true........ if you r standing on the ground even with the force you can throw.... it will not go to full extension..... on the realtive wind point....... see below To the end of the bridle. If you're stable and belly to earth it isn't being sprung directly into the relative wind like a throwout PC - it's being sprung into your burble. 5-6 ft. or full extension.... cant a spring loaded pc get caught in your burble in either scenerio? One of the things I was taught was when going to "silver" in the event of a total I should head up a bit because the pc can get trapped in my burble...... so it can be a problem no matter what solved with the same action.... right? I really am asking here.... Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 12. Positive chi comin your way from me! that is cool that she is giving it a shot.
  13. I didn't mean to say or imply it is a bad idea, it's a good idea with minimal payoff on sport rigs, and I personally believe implimented poorly on the javelin. I also would like the skyhook more if it didnt need the 5 lb thread to hold the lanyard in place. If there was a way to have it truly slide off in the event of a direct reserve deployment. Watch a vector reserve pilot chute launch on the ground and hit the 5 foot mark when the skyhook hits and see the p/c stop in mid air and hit the floor. Granted there is no airflow, but still would be a lot better if that didnt have to be there. How far in the air or out can you throw a BOC PC on the ground? I see what you are saying but 5 feet in to relative wind is plenty..... I would think atleast..... whenever I popped my Jav I do not remember it really popping higher than 5 or 6 feet? 15. I would like to hear Bill address the question you are asking about the main flap..... that being said I do NOT think the rig is messy and I think that all the flaps are well designed. Again, I am biased as I love my V3M. The rig is not that complicated and when I check my rig I can check the Collins Lanyard while I check my Cypres. The only thing I cannot check is the skyhook but how it is set up.... as long as the thread is used it will stay secure. If the skyhook somehow slips off then you simply have a two handle system. As stated above I do not change my altitudes at all because I have a skyhook and my emegency procedures have not changed..... just like using an rsl...... you still pull 2 handles and do not count on the "back up" working. I had a nasty line twist a couple weekends ago..... I was open at 2400 and saw it coming and shifted in my harness to correct the line twist on opening but whoops..... went the wrong way and that made it spin up more..... at 2000 I was kicking out of it just fine and did not even think about chopping then I started spinning faster and on my back.... at this point I was at 1500 and I started to correct it more.... I was not in a flat spin nor was it spinning up more. I could see 2 more twists in the lines and that they were working out with my inputs at this point I was at 1000 and I was not going to chop it even with the skyhook! I had everything worked out by 900 and landed by some cows off the airport but safe :) After I got down I went over the situation with a mentor of mine and asked should I have chopped at 1500 when the spin started kicking up a notch but I could see 2 more twists that were coming undone? His response was....... what are your altitudes and did you have something over your head? He then said he would have probably worked it out as well...... had I been jumping something loaded more than 1.3 I think this would be way different. The point is I never even thought about the fact that I had a skyhook so I could chop below 1000..... it never crossed my mind. 16. I agree..... I am a low timer but I am also a reader..... I may have read through the IRM and SIM more than a large majority of up jumpers.... the point is it seems like there is hostility towards Vector or UPT. I don't get why it is hard to aknowledge that the skyhook is a good thing and I believe the magnetic riser covers are as well. I do not think heistation from tuck tabs have caused horrible things to happen especially if they are designed well but I do feel the the magnets help equal deployment of the risers which just logically make snese. With all that said..... I LOVE MY VECTOR 3!! It fits great, it is comfortable, and I fell good that I have a skyhook. I would recommend a vector to anyone. For some of you old timers I jump at Richmond and back in the day Steve Stewart built Sweet Hogs when the wonder hogs were being made. I had a long talk with him about the skyhook being worth it as well as the rig in total.... he said and I quote "its one of the best" and "time is always worth it" some of you may not know him but I can tell you that if he says it I trust it with out question. 18. seriously?? I'm not sure whether funding is ever the issue - it's a matter of priority.. The school boards will threaten to cut the low budget music and arts programs if annual budget increases don't get passed, but NEVER the cost intensive football team etc etc...Not that I am anti-sport, I think there's a great need for that, but sometimes it seems that some of the programs take a bigger chunk than would seem fair out of budgets at the expense of other worthwhile programs. +1 Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 20. I just want to know if the dz in Clarksville is affiliated in any way to skyride? If they take their certs. that is different but are they actually directly affiliated with them? I am asking because in July I am planning on making a trip their for other reasons but was gonna take a day to jump (of course) but I will just not or make a drive to Mullins' DZ.... it is well worth driving and giving the money to him than to a dz that is basically skyride! 22. I would certainly not do that, not in any religion. However a well funded whacko minority can have an inordinate influence on the debate. agreed Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 23. http://www.geocities.com/lvegh/Revelation_Rapture.html according to this whack-job - the prophecies are far from done. This is an example of what we are talking about. I see it every day here in Zephyrhills, people that believe in the end of the world, the second coming, and-you-better-be-on-the-right-side-or-you-will-die horribly..... They hand out degrees in this stuff at any number of Christian based colleges in Florida - funny how these are the same people rooting for intelligent design in the classrooms...... another debate Ok Tk.... first of all you know me..... I graduated from Cincinnati Bible College and I am not going around preaching or telling people you better be on the right side. I am a bigger fan of showing my faith through my actions! I figure if someone wants to talk about it they will ask and if they want to hear preaching then they will go to church. I can tell you that this guy is a train wreck! Do I believe in the end times..... ya.... everything has an end I just believe it has to do with God if you don't thats fine with me. I am just saying that Jesus according to the Bible (old/new testament) fulfilled everything he needed to fulfill according to Hebrew prophecy and that there is nothing else that needs to be fulfilled. We are now getting in to too much theology.... my point is that non Christians don't like broad strokes of a brush well this Christian is saying I don't like that either. Don't lump me or a large part of the Christian faith in with the whackos.... Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. 24. Hahaha.... you sure as shit do! By your definition I would say there are many Christians who have those beliefs but I would also say there are many that do not! I am one Christian that knows there is no mention of the rapture or even an "anti-christ" for that matter. I would just tell you that I think there are many more Christians that do not go out on that limb and that there are many that cherish their faith and don't go to those extremes.
