I personally think that number is garbage considering that som major banks that are hurting as well as some that no longer exist were or are CRA lenders. But you get an even "better loan" if it is in a targeted CRA area and more is overlooked. I am suggesting that CRA banks lend less and I am not saying they are the cause of it all but those loans are a big part of it. Are you suggesting that it is a good idea to give someone a 100% loan with "C-D grade" credit and allow them to qualify with 48% back end ratios (gross income being used) Quote whatever source you want.... I underwrote, loaned, and managed a portfolio for many years. CRA was part of what I did so whatever conclusion you want to draw..... Nonsense, the CRA REQUIRED banks to loan to areas where people could not qualify under normal methods. Nonsense. Areas don't qualify for mortgages. People do. Given their lower foreclosure rates, CRA banks have provably demonstrated more careful underwriting practices than non-CRA lenders. WRONG! CRA targets specific areas no matter what people go in to those areas to get the CRA loan you have to buy in those areas. You can use CRA i other areas as well but many areas are targeted still today. Downtown Cinci for example near Over the Rhine.... CRA guidelines are still offering a 100% no PMI loan at 5.25% with a minimum credit score of 650. A 650 score won't even get you a loan with 20% down right now. Yes but with regular RSL you don't get the same risk of a main that is cut away, and the attachment point is higher up away from the pin. I do not get how this incident is being turned into "why a skyhook is bad" thread when what we need to learn from it is 1. gear check 2. watch for snag hazards and 3. always be looking out for your fellow jumpers by giving them a once over in the plane. If you saw a video that showed a cut away handle getting snagged whould you want to go to an SOS system? An RSL has the same snag potential if not secured and tucked properly. Could a scenerio happen that the skyhook worked against you? Yes but so can going low and not getting to silver after a chop in time.... just saying. They are one in the same aren't they? I only trust Cypres.... to many stories of bad things occuring with other units. I know many that have watched the Cypres save lives over and over and I like the unit being serviced. JMHO but I think it is well worht the money! Which is why I said it is just my opinion and what I like. To the OP do I think I need to jump all the rigs you have to reccomend a Vector? NO! Because I know jumpers that have more jumps than you and have jumped more gear than you that have a VERY different opinion than you. That is because it is an "opinion". If I like my rig for all the reasons I listed I see nothing wrong with me telling someone else I do and why. Actually the 2nd most comfortable rig I have ever jumped was a Sweet Hog... ever jumped one of those? Not very modern or freefly friendly. The point is I am not trying to get in to a fight about the best brand as I stated it is my opinion and I do not think any of the rigs listed above suck. SkyChimp I also made my decision based on what others with way more experience said. Good luck in your search and I'm sure no matter what you buy you will love it.
