Lou I have to disagree..... but I was a young kid which is why I thought it was cool so if you are older than me I can see it being stupid to you. To me it is nostalgic and as a kid I thought it was a cool show. I even had to have the "Laser Tag" gun because it looked like the laser guns on "V". Then again the "Photon" guns (laser tag rip offs) sucked so there was no real reason to buy those anyway. It had moments, but overall I'd say it moved WAY too fast for the first episode. There were numerous logic problems. For instance, how exactly did "mom" find "motorcycle boy" in the middle of the city while cell phone service is inoperative and the biggest panic attack since 9/11? If the "V" are here for water, then why park their ships over cities rather than, i don't know, maybe that 3/5th of the surface of the planet covered by WATER? How did the "resistance" figure out the reptilian nature of the "V"? Oh sure, "Mr. Exposition" comes on screen and and explains in great detail for five minutes what's going on, but how did he figure that out? BTW, thanks for saving the production company from having to show us anything actually cool by just freekin' talking about it. Show #1 sould have been all about the "wonder" of "V" showing up with just a hint of a subtext of evil lurking behind the scenes. Instead, what we got was it all laid out for us with virtually no mystery left to tune in for. Wow Quade we agree on something I was pumped to see this as I loved V as a kid. So does it have less waste? If it is on par with uranium but there is a ton of it I would say that's a reason to look in to it more. I know of one company on the market and its trading OTC (THPW) so it doesn't seem like many are mining it at all. Right, they were overvalued by today's standard, they were valued at exactly what they were worth at they time. Evidence of that is found by their appraisal and selling price. The entire situation we're in stemmed from the housing market being oversold. And appraisals proved to be a worthwhile as the debt ratings on the CDOs. Markets can be oversold or undersold. But where it will go...everyone makes projections on earnings that may or may not pan out. But being happy about a GDP growth that was primarily financed by government deficit spending is really not a sign of a investor anyone else should follow. Since we'e all about watching the market on a daily basis rather than over the longrun, Look at the market right now: DJIA +155.98 and climbing; must be over all that fear as the GDP data is released. What's the office opinion RE the next round of mortgage resets, the potential for a collapse of commercial real estate, and the strength of short-term commercial paper? None of those can be rosy for the next two years. Inquiring minds want to know. The opinion is simply: FEAR the next round of resets is sadly not a huge concern compared to the state of commercial paper. It will be the dagger in some of the banks that are still holding on or may even be showing some signs of recovery because they cannot get them off of their books. It is hard to quantify how big it will be because along with the issues of companies having a tough time paying the bills the banks are cutting back or off the current lines to minimize exposure. Many businesses cannot operate without those so it ends up being a final nail which then goes back to the bamk at a loss for the current line the was given. The banks really don't have a choice at the moment though unfortunatly. The mind set is "hold on". Not only is this market inflated under false pretexts and sheer market emotion and sentiment but this big issue is being ignored almost otherwise what had happened with the dow thus far never would of. The question is.... can the dow hold any of its gain? Maybe but we feel it is going to go through another big swing with the vix moving back on up again.
