Difference is that the government expects people to read the Driver's Handbook. The Judeo-Christian leadership doesn't really want people reading the Bible. They want to quote it and hope you just listen to their interpretation. Anyone that actually reads it is going to have issues with it - a LOT of issues - and that act may shake the faith of the reader. Ok we get it... many of you think Christians are dumb (check), God is not real (check), and think you are the only ones who are right on the matter (check) but this statement is just silly. I know of NO modern day church that does not tell you to read the Bible and if there is one out there still it is not mainstream at all. Support what you believe and argue what you want but don't make insane statements like this one. QuoteOriginal "Grinch", my whole family loves Dr Suess. I used to have a pair of "antlers" for my little dog. He looked almost exactly like Max, the Grinch's dog with them on. Christmas Story. "You'll put your eye out", the Bunny Suit, and the Chinese waiters singing Christsmas carols Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas. It's a Jim Henson Muppet film, a little obscure but really cool. Wiki. Again, my whole family loves the Muppets. +1 on all counts! I freaking love Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas..... especially the "River Bottom Nightmare Band" ha Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. College Football - BCS National Championship
Rstanley0312 replied to SkyChimp's topic in The Bonfire
I think they have a very good team this year. But the reality is that money drives a lot of this, and they simply don't generate it. In last year's Orange Bowl, they were still trying to sell tickets in Cincinnati December 31st. And the game's tv share was lousy too. It takes a long time to create a fan base willing ot spend big bucks in mass numbers. It requires a football tradition, and UC doesn't have one. Yet. They also were fed the hog and the same thing will happen this year if they play a real team. I think Pitt is going to beat them. If UC beats Pitt they will earn a lot more respect but there is no way a team that let's Illinois score 30 pts on them at home could ever compete in a National Championship game. UC is not big enough or fast enough on D! Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Still looks good compared with 2008. Agreed.... I'm not stating anything just giving the information. I will say now though that jumping the gun on this "recovery" is not such a good idea. There is a lot of bad still coming our way. And alot more bad being created by the government You are entitled to your opinion, but recall that the worst economic fiasco in recent history started under the Bush administration who for months were in denial that there was a problem at all. The Bush administration then initiated the costly bailouts. wrong, the housing bubble (giving loans to people that did not deserve them) was started under carter and continued under clinton and blew up while bush was in office and the democrats (and some reb's) wrote the massive spending bills the last 3 years. I guess you still have not undewrstood what has been posted the last year. I have read and understood and I don't have a degree, maybe degrees make people less smart? Either way Kall and Mark the "costly" spending has been kicked in to over drive. I think we can all agree on that even if you think it is necessary Kall it still is fact that the spending happening at a much faster pace. Even out pacing that devil Bush. In case anybody missed it; http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/34118448#34118448 Sigh..... I cannot even watch that moron. As soon as I brought up the link I think I puked in my mouth. Bill.... I love your opions and I say that very sincerely but I believe you called me out telling me my opinion on the market has no more weight than Lucky's even though that's what I do for a living... the market. so I guess that you are saying Obama and those making laws and setting forign policy are not credible just like beck No. I don't think that's what he's saying at all. I think what he's saying is the Beck isn't credible because he isn't privileged to all of the information that Congress or the President is and I'd agree. Beck isn't even interested in the information either. Just ratcheting up the hysteria over things he doesn't know about. That is what I was saying Quade but I'm not sure Beck is only interested in money. I think he actually believes what he is saying. I think he actually makes an effort to find facts and sometimes that ends up good and sometimes its a joke. Why does the fact that they are signing laws make them more credible? Dies it mean they are actually studying the bills or are a majority just going along party lines? Where does it say most of it is not true? It says parts are taken from other events but the photo and several things said were tre especially in that version. I don't really care about that story and it does nothing for me pro/con on the issue but it never said most of it is false. I agree with you on this but I also think Obama and those in govt. fall in the catagory as well. They tell half truths not for entertainment but to get re-elected. I think Beck is as credible as those in congress or Obama. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Just make sure that you can operate the numbers in the dark, by feel alone. That's the problem that the handprint-type safes solve. If you need to turn on a light to operate the lock, then you've given up you're elements of stealth and surprise. Again, good point. See everyone.... SC can teach us something and give us new perspective Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Like him or not he is entertaining to some. I think it is a mistake to dismiss everything he brings up as I feel there are some really credible stories he brings out and he is willing to go deep on issues that the rest of the media will not. I think joining fox news has changed him. I listen sometimes and he will get on my nerves but other times like this morning he was going through the healthcare bill. I believe Glenn Back has actually read it all unlike many of those who "represent" us in congress. Problem is I need another rational adult to have one of those.... Dekker.... I'm just confused as to why you even made that statement. Ron didn't say anything out of line nor did he say anything close to what you made his statements out to be? Obviously you guys disagree a lot but why bring that in to a post that you have no input on at all? You just wanted to attack him? Standard SC behavior (how many otherwise rational adults turn into PeeWee Herman in here?) I'm a little surprised that none of the antis have come in here screaming and yelling how dangerous guns are. You said in the other post that you are in a new place (with new people right?). Have you done a "security check"? Entry points/paths for the intruders, a safe room and escape routes for you and yours, ambush/last stand points, good/bad corners, peek holes/strategic reflector placement. All that stuff. Play hide and seek with the kid. Or better yet cowboys and indians/cops and robbers/terrorist and Delta Force. Seriously. Use it to identify good hiding places for you and places to aviod when checking out the "noise in the middle of the night". Use it to learn how easy it is to get surprised coming around a corner. My ex absolutely hated the stainless steel round lamp I insisted on leaving in the front hall. But she let it stay when I pointed out how useful it was for checking out the front door from the bedroom doorway. With the bedroom dark, She could easily see into the living room and check to see if the front door was open, while still being totally invisible. I just moved in on Sat. and I am looking forward to figuring out that out. Great suggestions!

EP's can vary but the important thing is you are always practicing them and you do what you have trained to do.

On your revolver: 1) Do you have the hammer cocked over a live round? 2) Hammer down on a live round? 3) Or hammer down on on an empty cylinder? It's a hammerless S&W airweight 5 shot .38 w'crimson grip. It was my carry weapon for quite sometime. So the hammer inside is down over a live round. I do understand that thought process and I don't really agree or disagree. By my bed is a revolver so all of these points are good but for my situation moot. The other handgun in the house I do keep in condition one though. So.... if it is somewhere else and you are not dealing with waking up still half asleep would you keep a semi auto in condition one? Safes and security really come down to one question: "who are you trying to keep out?" If burglars are you concern, then a small, light safe will simply be carried off and opened later by drill and hammer. If your concern are children in your family, then age is of a concern. If the child is old enough to find a key or play with a combination to try to open the safe, then they should have been taught firearm safety by then. The wonderment of a firearm would have been removed by training, practice and safety. Agreed! He is not my biological son though and I am just now gettig him at age six. Apparently his dad introduced him to firearms the other day with his brother. No eye protection or ear protection and I guarantee there was beer involved Anyway I am working on the education part but for now i'm trying to just keep the guns away from him but still accessible to me and fast. That is a good thought actually. I always keep a round chambered in my two semi auto .45's and can just keep those up high for the time being but what I keep by my bed is a revolver so that is always ready to go. That was a good question though and why I want to know about the biometric safes. If I can throw my hand on it and it opens in 1-2 seconds consistently than I think a round chambered is a good idea because if it takes 1-2 sec. to open the safe and another 1-2 sec. to rack it then that's just more time. That all being said I see your point. Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Anyone using a biometric gun safe? My fiancee has a son and I want to keep a few guns around the house with a round chambered. I have already started the education but he is not there yet. So.... I am looking in to the biometric safes. They seem to be pretty easy access but are they good? Am I going to lay my fingers on it 3-4 times before it opens? Any experiences would be much appreciated. ACORN Sues Over 'Unconstitutional' Funding Cuts By Congress
Rstanley0312 replied to SkyChimp's topic in Speakers Corner
TK they do and your observations about everything else are right on but just because others have got away with crap doesn't make it right that they do. It wasn't just one instance at all and I think you would see that a big problem with America is there willingness to sue over stupid shit. Something I have experienced as I think you have as well. You are correct though... they can sue if they want but I think it is a bad move. Now they are putting themselves back in the spotlight which is not something they need right now.
