One more football post... Sometimes deferring is a good strategy, but, on this one, I couldn't figure out the upside for Notre Dame deferring either. I'm sure they had a plan - just not sure that plan factored in how high the Tide was gonna roll. The only problem with a game like that is you pretty much know who's gonna win 30 - 45 minutes before it's over but you feel like you still have to watch it til the end.

I would have taken care of that right away. Complaint filed with Amazon, as I said. I believe Farflung has told you about the shill reviews on Amazon before. You could have saved everyone a lot of time, discussion, and trouble if you had simply had them removed then. Jeez. The best way to change the subject (if that is your desire) is to quit responding. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Farflung: Bringing up AB on this thread, and directing folks to reviews at Amazon isn't your best idea. Our Kindle sales are spiking a bit on most titles since you posted that. I checked. About twenty total Kindle downloads since your first post on it. Not all were Dimensions, either. Remember, a lot of lurkers view this thread. Maybe you should move on to something else, since it's supposed to be about Cooper around here, not a sci-fi book I co-wrote seven years ago... However, if you wish to continue with this, feel free. I could use the money, although your promoting of us on this thread is a bit of a cheat. lol....why would a lurker need to download to Kindle since you are attaching the pdfs to this thread? What do they say about a fool and his money? jk I suspect the reviews came from you or one of your folks but I'm cynical that way. Either way, I don't see you coming clean. Some people have a hard time owning up to mistakes. lol ..It's not like it really matters. I think it's just that you are so quick with the explanations and usually neglect to just say "oops - I screwed up again" that folks feel duty bound to bring you back down to earth. Not to mention that your credibility takes a dive everytime you put something so-called new out there that you didn't vet - and then get whiny because the "so-called Cooper experts" didn't do your editing work for you. That's rich, even for you! I mean Sluggo addressed the bald/wig corrections to you specifically. I don't know - maybe i'm expecting too much. Like you, I might not remember specifics of every discussion but if I've tried to connect dots on a story and been specifically corrected on that point - I think I might have remembered that. Maybe not - but I still think I would just go with the big OOPS and not blame everyone else because they didn't catch it sooner. You do tend to repeat yourself a lot - maybe that's why folks don't pay attention.

My son says he's rooting for the SEC but Notre Dame would make the better come back story. I said, Jeez, son, we're not in some frilly, frothy, Lifetime movie here. This is FOOTBALL. Take no prisoners!!!

I'd like to see that Smoke Jumper article. I thought Sheridan Peterson's screen name was eagleeyepete not eagleeyejoe, but he may have used many variants. What always surprised me about Peterson's published comments about NORJACK is that had he been DBC he would have carried a flashlight to spot his landing. Peterson, as a highly experienced jumper, knows how useless that would be. I wonder why he said it? Amazon, you agree about a flashlight being pretty useless for "spotting a landing at night"? 377 I'll yield to you guys about the flashlight, but regarding the article: I looked for it briefly but couldn't find it. Considered giving a 25.00 dollar donation to Smokejumper Assoc which includes subscription to mag, but I can't find anywhere that mentions I would have access to the archives. The only reference I found (though brief search like i said, so it could be here) was Bruce Smith's reference regarding Sheridan's writing style - He mentioned that article in his post - so he (BruceSmith) might very well have the article. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

This from the same article..... Years earlier, the FBI dismissed Christiansen as a suspect because his physical description was not close enough to Cooper’s. However, due to the urging Christiansen’s family and Porteous, the FBI asked for a DNA sample, which Christiansen’s relatives were able to provide. Christiansen’s DNA did not match that found on Cooper’s tie. And I noticed this in the comments....Isn't eagleeyejoe our friend Sheridan Peterson? EAGLEEYEJOE Mon, 03/07/2011 - 10:31 Check out Article in July 2007 issue of Smokejumper Magazine entitled "Where have you been hiding, D. B. Cooper, by Seridan Peterson.Pages 11 to 13. eta: this is an article that Sheridan Peterson wrote. I thought it sounded familiar and I was able to find references to it on the thread but I quit looking before I found the article or contents thereof. I think Bruce Smith mentioned it. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Maybe so.. Hopefully, you will get many questions. Hope they are all smart. Hope you do the interview and that it goes well. Did you ever do that interview with the co-pilot you asked for questions on? Did you ever post that? Just curious. I don't remember seeing it but I readily admit that I skim some posts due to the tendency for repeats. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

LOL....I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. Last time I suggested some questions (based on his own comments) you got kind of testy. Nah, I think any questions I have for him, I will email him.. I wonder if there is any movement on Mr Rattie joining us here? He can tell us his experiences on his own. That would be very informative. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

lol...I completely forgot that the bald discussion led to the reporter scam with William John (aka Jack) Lewis. I keep saying one day I'm going to index this case so when stuff comes up that looks familiar i can quickly pull it up like I do with some of my genealogy projects. So much to keep up with and so little time

Case in point....The same Bremerton Sun article that you cited also states "a man who signed the passenger list as D.B. Cooper". That error was pointed out to me by someone in a pm. Good catch, J.C. I haven't even looked at the article to see if there are anymore myths listed as gospel. So if the author couldn't get that detail right, what else in the article is wrong? but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

First things first.... I didn't say the article was debunked -- What is easily debunked are your claims that you did this first or that first or that you are the only one to do this or the only one to do that. Search options are tedious but for finding things are actually pretty good here and will teach you a lot that you don't know... You only know/repeat what you read in articles - of which I can show you more than one version of each of your examples. Someone writes it - you think it's true. Problem is this is why there are so many myths out there. Who said that they are under an obligation to "reveal" anything to the general public or to give away any information, sensitive or otherwise. You've given them nothing on Kenny Christiansen that changes the basic parameters that no doubt they need to establish - else they would be investigating 1/4 of Washington State. What can you prove that they have or don't have on LD Cooper or what can you prove that they did or didn't do in regards to the Amboy chute? You have no proof - only guesses. I gently ask....What part of the definition of proof do you not understand? but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

[ There is a BIG difference between Marla making up a story in an obvious effort to obtain a book contract...and what we have done regarding Ken Christiansen. The sending of the report and the images/docs to a couple of local media is just to get a second opinion on whether there is something to the report or not. None of the Cooper researchers discovered that article from the Bremerton Sun. I did that. And I still would like to know how the Seattle FBI came to the idea (seven months after the hijacking) that the hijacker was bald. What made them think this? The results of that part of the investigation went nowhere, but something definitely triggered it, and THAT's the important part. Why? And let's face facts. The FBI has made missteps along the way in their investigation. Your Marla reference is a perfect example. There are others. This is part of the reason why people like you or I continue to explore avenues. Not true. You were not the one who discovered the Bremerton Sun article. If I'm not mistaken, snowmman was the first to reference it and it was discussed before you started participating on this forum. I know - you will say it doesn't matter - I just don't get why you always do this when you know that it's so easily debunked. On the issue of FBI missteps.....What missteps, specifically? The fact that he was never found does not in itself constitute missteps in the investigation. He could be at the bottom of the Lake and will never be found. So I'm curious - and I'm not saying there weren't missteps - I'm just asking what missteps exactly are you talking about ..... and prove it. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Yeah and I walked 5 miles to school and back, uphill both ways, barefoot, in the snow, after eating soup made from hotdog wrappers we found in the dumpster. Yada, yada, bing. No one even knows if you're Johnny on the spot or not. You're the only one complaining about your dial-up, not us. Lol...if you don't want it fine, Just quit using it as an excuse.

Here's where I just plain don't understand you. It does exist and if you 've looked into it you know it does. You can get computer line only DSL for as little as 14.99 - 19.99 in your area. Or you can have it added to your phone line. No gadgets except maybe a modem and an ethernet cord - which they provide. You don't have to take their wireless or anything else besides the basic DSL or cable. But if your computer does wireless and you want wireless you can do that yourself - I'll send you a wireless router gratis that someone can hook up for you. You might not want the faster internet connection, and that's your prerogative - live with dial up til the end of time -- but quit using poor poor pitiful me and my dial-up as an excuse for why you can't do something on the internet. Because for probably the same amount of money you are paying now you can get something better. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Jo, It's not just about the "penny loafer". The shoe could mean something or it could mean nothing. I would like to know the outcome, if anyone knows of what happened to the shoe, but I think it would also be interesting to find out about the weather, where were they taken to search, the terrain, what, if anything, did they use to search with, what was the mood of the guys searching - did they see Cooper in a good, bad, or neutral light. Were they afraid, excited? Were they told he was armed and dangerous? Even though the search was unsuccessful, did they feel that it was effective, as in organization, use of manpower, search strategies etc. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Like I said - I didn't mention Cook, Mr. rattie did. I didn't ask you to ask Cook anything, nor did I mention anything about Cook interviewing anyone. In Mr. Rattie's comment on the Topix page, HE said that he was trying to contact Galen Cook about the shoe find. Now....If I was asking Mr. Rattie about his experiences (before I knew about his posts here) this is a question I would have asked - Did Mr. rattie ever touch base with Cook and what was the outcome, if any? As for Bruce - he likes to write human interest type stories that touch on all different phases of the "DB Cooper experience" - not just about a particular candidate. That's why I said Mr. rattie's experiences (or anyone else that played a part in the actual event) would make a good BSmith article. You know - I've heard stories on here about how the search was so much bullshit. Well here's someone that, it seems, was actually out in the elements participating in the search - not sitting at the village bar in front of a heater rooting for DB Cooper. Just saying. I'd like to hear his side of it. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Georger, I'm confused. Where do you see that I'm doubting your post? I referenced your post where you mentioned that Mr. Rattie had been on the thread. Blevins didn't inspire my curiosity, the old posts did. I must have missed Mr. Rattie's posts, so I said I will search and read them. Not a big deal - just mild curiosity wondering what happened to the shoe. lol...btw....I did Read The Thread (pages 80 - 84 or so) before I posted the question asking about the outcome of the shoe but there were only a few posts on the subject of the shoe for several pages so I gave up. I think the conversation turned to Duane Weber's glasses and from there went to John Collins, the hotel clerk, then to Weber's psyche, then to military jumps, then to the money find. All in the space of 3-4 pages. As a matter of fact, I think I even saw one of your first posts on those pages - analyzing the money - four or so years ago. LOL...Search sucks cause you have to go into each individual post. Heaven forbid that people should get on one subject and see it through to its conclusion before jumping on something else.

The story was from Ariel, WA. It was a general AP report carried in many newspapers. It about the annual party and had random quotes from people that were there. Harold Babitzke appeared to be one of the party-goers or he was otherwise interviewed for the story. As the story says he lives 5 miles from town (Ariel). Lewis River Road is where he said he his daughter saw the man and a section of Lewis River road is where the coordinates lead to. The story does not say what time of the day the daughter saw the man. The only information that I know of is what is in the post. Nothing about time of day, cars, adult or child. If I'm not mistaken Snowmman made the comment about the top drift line being near to the area that Babitske lived in. Not totally sure what the top drift line meant - but I took it to mean that the coordinates correspond to the vicinity of where the top drift line was on the map. In other words, the FBI had search maps outlining potential areas of search based on where Cooper's parachute was likely to drift. The area in question above coincidentally seemed to correspond somewhat to the shoe finder's story. I think it was a first post which merely noted a relationship between two stories that might or might not be real and, might or might not mean anything if real. That's my take. Someone might tell me I'm completely wrong. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

I wouldn't take Cook's word that day is light and night is dark. I'll ask Rattie if he ever heard anything from the FBI. Or maybe Bruce should do it. You want Cook? Email him and ask him yourself. I only reference Cook with what he posts publicly, or when he does interviews, or posts evidence. Sure thing Blevins. I think I'll do that. No reason to get snarky. The reason I mentioned Cook is because Mr Rattie mentioned Cook. And you seemed real eager to contact the guy since you knew him. But I see from Georger's posts that Mr Rattie has been here and left. I'll have to search those posts. So you can disregard my post. You're absolutely right - Anything I want to ask anyone I can do myself. But I still think an interview with him or anyone else close to the actual events would make a good article so I'll let my suggestion to BruceSmith stand. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

Mr Shutter has another number/address above. If you or BruceSmith or whoever else likes to call folks out of the blue and interview them calls him and he's the guy who posted, ask him if he ever got any followup on the shoe from FBI or Galen Cook - and, Blevins, don't let your Galen tic kick in
-
It was. Happythoughts posted the site link, but i didn't copy that. Just sheer laziness on my part.
-
While I was looking at that old post by Jo, I noticed this post by Happythoughts from page 80 (jeez) - It's basically a cut and paste of a comment from another site: It was followed up by a post by Snowmman, which said Does anyone know if anything ever came of this? I read for two pages but didn't see that Ckret ever answered the question or whether Galen Cook was ever notified or looked into this or anymore info. Bruce this sounds like an interview that you might be interested in??....... but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill

A quick google search yields a Paul D and Phyllis S Schnitzer - but not in Spokane - they are on Apex, NC land tax roll. BTW...Google search also brought up entry from Dropzone - apparently you've mentioned them before. Said "It was August of 1977 that I met Duane L. Weber. On March 28, 1978 we were married in Littleton, Co. with Paul and Phyllis Schnitzer in attendance...." maybe you have more info than you think. but....A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.....Winston Churchill
