The articles stated Cook has been after Cooper for 2 decades but only found out about Gossett in the past couple of years. You may think what you like (given your clear bias), and I'll accept Ckret's assertions that the facts don't add up, but from what I have seen of Cook he really has been one to try find a suspect to fit the man rather than try get the facts to fit his suspect. Ckret, can you confirm or otherwise receipt of Cook's /Gosset's fingerprints and whether they have been eliminated? In nature erosion and decay tends to round things off that are in an active flow, (wind or water) anything that sticks out (end corners or edge points) receives more friction or erosion in an active flow. It could also be biological bacterial, or a combination of the two.

The best way to reveal features in a situation like this is to back lite or forward lite the specimen with specific wavelengths of lite. It is standard practice to use UV or other wavelengths to try and reveal background features, or enhance stains, surface prints, etc. There are standard forensic procedures that are used. In this case once the nature of stains is known then specific lighting can be used to enhance those features, photographically. All elments have inherent reflective and absorptive properties which lighting can enhance. Im sure you already knew this. Everything Ive done here is done on common home computer software - well common for me anyway. There are special techniques & softwares which can do better. In the context of Tina Bar it is likely there was diverse debris, from many sources. Tina Bar is after all a deposition sand bar. The presence of rust raises a question, potentially. Iron or steel objects do not as a rule float! On the other hand the one specimen we have is thee ONLY specimen showing rust. These are questions which have to be addressed. I think Cooper learned a lot from hijacks of the era. If we acknowledge that, he doesn't seem so smart/unique? See, the point is, in 1971 they were shooting hijackers. The time stamp was created by a rotating light wheel and projected on the kinescope screen while the film was being made. The time displayed could be GMT, PST, EST, CST, MST or any other time, AM or PM. It could represent the time it was broadcast or the time it was being archived. I’m just guessing that at sometime later the film was projected onto a shadowbox and put on 1-inch video-tape and then later to a video file. If you’ll notice the time stamp rolls over twice or three times throughout the video. It doesn’t change when they switch from Seattle to Reno. That is pretty good evidence that the time-stamp has nothing to do with the time it was filmed. Ltdiver, I have no idea how old you are, and I surely don’t want to sound like I’m talking down to you, but I’m guessing you haven’t looked at this video and tried to interpret it with your 1971 “Culture Goggles” on. In 1971, the newscast anchored by Walter Cronkite (one of the most trusted men in America) would not use “File Footage” without labeling it as such. [ Remember Johnson’s comment about the Viet Nam War: “My God… If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost America”] There were no satellites, internet, or any other way to get news around the world other than making film and one-inch tape and sending them out by courier. The date and time stamped onto that video meant something to someone. But, for right now, for the purpose of trying to find DB Cooper, it just doesn’t mean squat. I don’t know if the video was taken when they entered the terminal from the busses, after they had been debriefed, or when they were boarding a plane to their destination. But it was taken and it was broadcast on Thursday the 25th of November 1971 (because Cronkite says “last night”). I’m pretty sure those are real Flight 305 passengers. My parents were killed in a plane crash when I was only a few days old. They were both pilots (so I’ve been told), but I’m not sure who they worked for, but I’m fairly sure it was the Air Force. My new dad was an exobiologist and spent most of his time at the lab. I was allowed to go to the lab with him almost every day and made a lot of friends in his group of co-workers. My mom and dad worried about my health constantly, so I was sent away to a private school in Tooele, UT (where my Dad works now, after the Nevada lab closed). I studied Anthropology and Paleontology and got my B.S. degree there. Scott was concerned about the passenger's safety and complained about the confusion several times. One passenger ran back to the airplane trying to get something left behind and Scott describes him as being 'tackled' on the steps.... there were problems with sequestering the passengers into an area .. and finally with all the confusion of people wandering around the airport was closed. One frankly gets the image of near chaos for a time, from the transcript. Its my understanding that part of this traces back to Cooper not actually releasing the passengers to go back to the terminal until all he requested' had been delivered, andso they were held on the tarmak ... for sometime. But, Scott makes it very clear in the transcript he was concerned about the safety of the passengers and wanted them away from the plane (where Cooper is holding a bomb)...

All - I realise this map quest is confusing and tedious. Snowmman, here may be the better way to illustrate the layering on the map - its construction phases. This is a simple Negative image of the map, and an (unsharp mask) version of the same thing. Layered features are seen as follows: All megenta features: lite blue Penciled x's, dots, lines and everything penciled: white or whitish. This reveals the many separate penciled lines, hard dots, hard small x's or a few +'s in some cases. But at least two different hardness pencils were used ( a #2 and #3-4 I would guess). fine' le finitissomo!
