  1. "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes." - Ronald Reagan August 11th 1984. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv13ZnkpWos OMG ... that was a classic. Yeah, AND he was a professional actor who made his living with a microphone for decades so really there shouldn't have been any excuse whatsoever for that kind of non-sense. Far better actors than Ronny made the same error. 2. So he wasn't the best off the cuff. But he respected the office he held and his presence there commanded respect. HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  3. I was out riding this weekend. put about 350 miles on the bike. I tried to count how many 'Help Wanted" signs I saw. I stopped counting at 100. Sure, most weren't 30k+ jobs. But it would sure beat the hell out of unemployment. 4. Once again you need reminded....consumption of alcohol is not illegal for those who are no longer considered a minor. If you don't believe me you can check for yourself. So... you are fine with alcoholics drinking away welfare checks because alcohol is legal? By the way, I do not drink nor do I smoke pot. As I have stated, I am fine with the program if it is implemented in the manor that the U of M suggest that it be used. It would be wrong and costly, overall, to solely screen and create a far greater problem putting those with mental, alcohol (two greater problems not being addressed), and drug addiction (the lesser problem) out on the street homeless. Sooner or later the growing homeless population will have to addressed at a greater cost to the taxpayer. In response to your first question...see my response to Amazon. In response to the rest of your post....why should the government concern itself with supporting everybody who can't or won't get a job? I know it sounds harsh and uncaring, but stop giving handouts to everyone that asks for one and you'll suddenly find people really can find work. 5. So you are good with all the drunks on welfare buying booze instead of food for their children ... got it On moral principles....no. On legal principles....yes. 6. Once again you need reminded....consumption of alcohol is not illegal for those who are no longer considered a minor. If you don't believe me you can check for yourself. What do you think is the percentage of criminal activity and mayhem in our society that can be directly attributable to drunken assholes or at least those under the influence.. robberies... domestic violence... vehicular murder .... and the beat goes on. I wonder what percentage of the prison population is there for things they did while they were drunk. I have no argument about that. Those connections are very well known and documented. But alcohol is still legal. Weed and crack are not. 8. Even though I did like him as President (save for his economic policies), he was actually born on Feb.6. http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/ronaldreagan HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  9. I like that idea... I like it a lot. The welfare state of mind must be removed at all costs.... no work.. no pay. It is goat fuck stupid to pay stupid women to have babies who will also be supid fucks. They need to set up group day care so they all can work at SOMETHING and instill some pride in earning a paycheck.. not sitting on their ass all day waiting for their next baby daddy to show up so they can get a pay raise in 9 months Well I'll be buggered...we agree on something! Happy 4th of July! HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  10. This coming from someone who has stated he has an extreme hatred for the courts (read into that, hence the law!) Learn to comprehend what another states. I said nothing about "giving" money to welfare recipients. Oh, and yes, I am real freaking smart! My GPA in high school was 4.0. In college, it was 3.92. I stated I had no respect for the court system, I did not state I hated it. I have respect for our laws. My GPA in high school was also 4.0 out of 4. My college GPA was also 4.0 out of 4. See, I can make up stuff just like you.
  11. So we just continue giving money to people who refuse to abide by the laws of the same entity that gives them that money. Real freakin' smart. 12. Because it's a bullshit law on a LOT of levels. It was shady to begin with, it's not going to save a dime and it's almost certainly unconstitutional. It "feels good" to some self-righteous folks, but it's pure bullshit. Lemme ask you this, how far do you think a bill would get that did similar testing of CEOs of companies that receive corporate welfare? Should people that take out SBA loans be required to test? Last I checked there wasn't a big problem with corporate CEO's being drug addicts and spending all their, ahem, "welfare money" on crack. Pretty much the same with SBA loans. 100% compliance is an unrealistic goal because it will never happen. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to do something about the problem. You see, I tend to be pro-active. Sitting back and giving up is not an option in my book. 13. Nope, the shares were sold off. Link That's not entirely correct. As I previously noted, he transfered a $62 million dollar stake in the company to his wife. Link. It's still money that flows from the tax payers into his household. That's pretty f'in' corrupt. His connections to the clinic are being checked out. If there is a conflict of interest then he can be ordered by the courts to remove those interests. But I have a feeling that still won't be enough for you. 14. 1) Then make the testing random. Pretty simple, huh? 2) For no reason? You stated the reason in the previous sentence.Duh! 3) Moot point since stocks were sold off. 15. I don't like it for a few of reasons, but the one of biggest one is ultimately, if successful, will cost more money than it saves. Think about it. It was stupid political showboating. Cost more than it saves? Prove it. You are probably not considering the health care provided to welfare recipients and how much more it is for drug addicts than for non-addicts. Or for the increased cost of caring for the children of those who use drugs and their kids end up in foster homes. Hell, we could go on all day listing costs you didn't consider. 16. I'm all for it. If people have to take drug tests to get and keep a job, the welfare recipients those taxpayers support should have to pass the same tests. 17. Well, it just so happens that I have very little, if any, respect for the court system. HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  18. Tossed from the courtroom I can agree with. But not a fine or jail time. If the judge is an idiot, the prosecutor is an ass-hole and the defense is a slobbering dolt, then what respect does the court deserve? Respect must be earned, not demanded. 25. Which is beside the point. Step back from the canvas, and squint. Beside what point? Google George Seurat. His remark implies that there is something much more important at play than free choice. I am asking what he thinks that is. What does he see when he looks at the big picture.
