  1. I was under the impression he was awarded a merit based and highly competitive Rhodes Scholarship, something only a MORON would turn down. Which has nothing to do with him dodging the draft. He was classed 1A before going to Oxford and was actually sent a draft notice while at Oxford. He was supposed to report for induction after completion of that term, but was able to finagle an illegal ROTC deferment before his report date, after much string-pulling and outright lying HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

  3. I hated to compare the womens' plight to "a fly in their hair", but to both governments the whole situation was equally pesky. I am glad they were able to work it out to everyones satisfaction and the women are back home with their families. 4. I was under the impression he was awarded a merit based and highly competitive Rhodes Scholarship, something only a MORON would turn down. So you are saying it was ok for Clinton to avoid serving his country so he could fulfill his own self-serving goals, but it wasn't ok for Bush to do the same? Only a MORON would hold any scholarship so high as to place it above serving their country. Besides, the world has too many over-educated idiots as is. 5. Since details of deals like this are rarely made public we can only surmise what actually went on behind the scenes. My gut tells me that NK didn't want a the situation made any worse than it was, yet they could not back down to Obama and lose face. Hence, arrangements were made for the women to be pardoned and released under the condition that they were only to be turned over to BC. NK looks good, BC looks good, and Obama administration gets a fly out of their hair. Anybody who would buy the story that Bill just went over there, asked for their release, and NK immediately agreed is a fool. 6. And now we have gone from "Clinton did it first" to "Bush didn't either". HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  7. The cop was responding to a possible burglary. He was making sure Gates' home was not being robbed. What happened between them is known only to them. But if Gates and Obama think the cops acted poorly or "stupidly", I say let Mr. Obama and Mr. Gates respond to the next call of a possible burglary by themselves. 9. Neither voting option suited me so i didn't vote. When I go to buy my next vehicle, GM will get the same consideration from me as any other company. If I let politics sway my decision I may miss out on a car or truck that would fit my needs better than any other. 10. If you are arguing that the Declaration wasn't signed on July 4th, you are correct. I've been trying to tell people that since grade school. But that isn't what you asked. You asked why we celebrate and we are celebrating the signing and adoption of the Declaration even though we do so on the wrong day. 11. Yeah, but with a difference. JJ would call you a racist because the fly you swatted was black, where Palin would ask if you were planning on cooking it. 12. Rule #1 of firearms handling: Treat every gun as if it were loaded, i.e. there is NO SUCH THING as an unloaded weapon. Therefore sweeping the audience with the muzzle is wrong. No exceptions. 13. I wish to apologize to all people who were enslaved on this continent. I am sorry my ancestors were not wealthy enough to own slaves. I am sorry they had no friends who owned slaves and probably never met anyone who owned slaves. That's all they will get from me. Reparations? F that. 14. Actually, they were. They are salried so spending YOUR money working on stupid stuff, when they should have been working on todays problems... don't y'think? No. They get their salary regardless of what they do with their time. As far as working on today's problems, government has this idea that if you throw enough money at a problem it will either get solved or eventually covered up. 15. Hmm... maybe the Brits can apologize to the Irish and the Indians, for starters ..... (Edit to add: no, actually that's not sarcasm...) How much do you know about the Irish? I have it on good authority they invented the potato. I heard they also discovered civilization, but then drank a couple pints of Guinness and forgot where they put it. 16. He said: “It can never be a totally safe knife, but the idea is you can’t inflict a fatal wound. Nobody could just grab one out of the kitchen drawer and kill someone.” Bullshit. I don't care if the point is dull and has a barb, an average person could use that knife to stab another person. People have been stabbed to death with much blunter objects. 17. If they like flys so much then let's help them out. Start live trapping flys and when you have about 2000 of the buggers put them in a box with a chunk of rotting meat to eat and send them to PETA. That should make them happy.
  18. Look at the bright side. The time they spent talking about this resolution was time they weren't spending money. Better they apologize to all of us for the debt both parties have got us into. 19. See Post #54, the substance of which is incorporated and reasserted herein as though fully set forth at length. 20. What point is that? That it is ok for Letterman to make sick disgusting jokes about a 14 year old girl just because her 18 year old sister was put in the public eye for her mothers benefit? 22. That, plus Bristol being 18, is why I think it would have been ok if she had been the brunt of Letterman's jokes. But she wasn't. It was 14 year old willow who was at the ball game with Sarah, not Bristol. Whether Letterman thought it was Bristol doesn't matter. He should have checked. If the asshole had any integrity and sense of decency he would apologize to Willow and Sarah, and A-Rod, and until he does I will not watch his show. 23. "Throwing things and yelling? Yeah, that's gonna work real well against a murderous gunman. " If you are his lone target, probably not. But it would take a well trained and diciplined gunman to continue any kind of aimed fire when half a dozen people start throwing anything they can at him. Might just buy enough time for a couple would be victims to escape. "• Get a concealed handgun license. • Shoot the bastard!" Sounds good to me. But you best set your own gun on the ground as soon as the gunman is neutralized lest somebody else thinks you're a bad guy too. 24. they were on her ass LONG before she ran for any office, they were on her ass before Bill even got elected... they were denigrating Chelsea from day 1 (I listen to 'talk' radio all the time, especially when I need my feeling that radio blowhards are know nothing media whores confirmed) so take your 'Hilary is an exception' argument and shove it... if anyone is an exception, they are ALL an exception ... Hillary put herself up for public criticism when she and Bill proclaimed themselves as a 2-for-1 package deal while campaigning for the presidency the first time. I don't recall ever hearing or reading anyone ragging on Chelsea to the extent the Palin girls have been. One of the few things Bill & Hill did right was to keep Chelsea out of the spotlight. 25. I own and carry a Buck assisted opening knife. The only time it is not on my person is when I fly commercial. Though AO is handy and makes it easier for most people to open a knife quickly, it is by no means the only way. I was taught by a family friend how to open most pocket knives by pinching the blade and using a motion similar to snapping your fingers. I practiced and practiced the technique until i could open a knife with either hand literally in a snap. Due to the safety feature on my Buck I cannot open it nearly as quickly. So I ask why even bother with a ban? It would do nothing except add more paperwork to an already overworked police force.
