"what are the current uk regulations for jumping a foot mounted or leg mounted camera?" There aren't any, but my advice would be to chat it over first with an experienced cam flier, then take your scheme/proposal to the CCI. All oddball jumps should be discussed with the CCI, he/she ultimately has the yes/no. Chances are that with sub 200 jumps, the idea will get knocked back. As the Swiss Fish suggests, consider knives, cutaway systems etc. The more you think the thing through, the greater chance of success with the CCI. For the ferrin friends, a CCI (Club Chief Instructor) is like a STA type dude. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Anyone know where I could get one at a good price ?" As an alternative, look at a bust cam, many cams get all screwed up, eg my PC7 is no longer reliable due to a broken internal connector, but it works fine as a target deck. You occasionally see cams with missing lenses etc, maybe pick one up as an alternative. I have a mini DV deck, its a D300, one without the LCD screen, and its great, it also acts as an analogue/DV convertor. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "I'm not saying it's never been "peeped", but show me one person on these forums who has criticized worldwide prison abuses before these abuses at Gitmo and Abu Ghrab occured. " Glances round....ummm, me. I'm pretty sure I moaned about Uzbekistan on these forums a long time ago, and have been supporting Amnesty for at least 10 years. Not sure if that precedes public knowledge of Gitmo, certainly the Abu Ghraib farce. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "This type of abuse goes on in varying degrees in prisons all over the world and not a peep from the lefties until it happens to people who have sworn to kill Americans." Thats just not true, its just that you either don't hear the 'Peeps', or the Peeps aren't directed at you. Trust me, some of us lefties spend quite a lot of effort 'Peeping' away in the background. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "No, this is war and these are terrorists. These are terrorists with vital information that could mean the difference between the capture of more tangos or the bombing of your child's school resulting in 500+ kids suffering a tragic death. " So all the fiolks in Gitmo are terrorists, everyone tortured to date is a terrorist? Really? You believe that? Why the fuck has nobody actually been charged with the crime? The problem we have here is that we (its happening over here too) are giving up rights in the 'War on Terror'. Sure, its all cool and groovy when they are sparking up ferriners, until they come knocking on YOUR door in the middle of the night, and drag YOU off, because someone mentioned YOUR name under torture......... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Glad you're okay Dave, those multi lane slides used to scare the poop out of me in H-town. Malachi gave some good advice, ride like your invisible, or something along those lines. Alternatively, ride as if everyone else is trying to kill you. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Its 'clay pigeon' in English. Pidgen (or pidgin) English is a bastardised form of English, quite often using simplified or badly spelled words. Just an innocent wee error that made me chuckle. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Another skidiver had to swoop down to the actor just in time and saved him by cutting Leonardo's faulty parachute cord and then the pair floated to safety together using the man's chute." Fit a load o' pish, as we say round here. "And what exactly is skidiving?" I'm currently looking at replacing my 'old school' VCR with a new DVD recorder. I'm a big Sony fan, so have not really examined Panasonic, Phillips, etc yet. I'm currently pondering either the Sony RDR GX700, or the RDR-HX900, the 900 has a hard drive on board so you could have a stock leader saved there, and you would simply hose in the new footage, then do some basic assembly editing. If you are editing on say a PC or an analogue board, you may not need the hard drive, or even the firewire connectivity. Firewire (IEE1394, I-link, whetever) input is important to me personally, and the multi format capabilities of the Sony models appeal to me. Downside is you cant really vary the output quality to suit content duration, eg there are pre set quality modes, but nothing in between (standard setting allows 2 hours on a DVD, so if your movie is mlonger, you just have to take the next setting down, which seems daft to me!). And the editing capability seems pretty basic. Not really a deal breaker to me, as I intend upgrading my PC with a DVD burner soon too, so time shifting and archiving long movies should not be a huge deal. I'm going to buy a multi-region modified version. Of course, this entire setup is just to so the wee fella can have limitless access to Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob The Builder etc, nothing whatsoever to do with me wanting to archive my spaghetti western collection, or edit skydiving stuff. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Looks very similar to one of these, I jumped one on and off for a while, playing with the zoom, just for shits and giggles. http://www.keene.co.uk/cgi-bin/codesearch.pl?LR I extended it and put in a breakaway connection, this was all before cameyes were common, and we were all using video-on indicators strapped to the camera LED.

"The real heros are Iraqi freedom fighters defending their home land against our occupying force. Their 14,000 plus civillian deaths bother me a lot more than 1200 Americans who volunteered and knew what it could lead to." "Well - I think it's positive that we can all have fun and drop the serious stuff when we choose to. In the entire world - there are probably less than 100 000 skydivers.. and the truth is - I'm glad I'm one of them. " This message is definitely worth bearing in mind. "Did you choose to jump a Stiletto '120 for that demo? " Into an enclosed stadium, difficult at the best of times......the wind tends to blow in circles in there. Be fair though Skreamer, most of the peeps discussing this are probably unaware of Nigel's canopy choice that day, it certainly isn't evident from the article, it was however the subject of much discussion at the time. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
