"Posting via GPRS so, these are small." Small, but perfectly formed. Good work folks. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Thomas Jefferson

Of course it is, I should have paid more attention.

"My guess is if you can do the balloon, you can do the heli" Its not getting out thats the issue, its getting down.... You can't really guarantee landing on DZ from a Balloon, whereas you can, more or less with a helicopter. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Seen some gnarly tandem landings in my time, maybe the words should be to the tune of Rawhind, as featured in the Bruise Brothers.... Didn't they also do a song in that film that might appeal to you....Stand by Your Main.....

I'm in work and bored. Its not that early, I've been in for about 2 3/4 hours, I have a short attention span on a Friday. Where are you at school? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Hehe, its all good amigo. Most scientists and engineers will agree that a lot of good work will go before their 'discovery' or 'invention'. Even the great grand daddy of modern engineers, Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." Also on his own humility... "I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me." And finally from Newton.... "Tact is the knack of making a point without making an enemy." Cya, have cool friday. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. I didn't know this kind of execution still exists

I don't understand why the criminals are even given the choice of punishment? From the article.... "In 1992, Arguelles abducted and strangled Margo Bond, a janitor at a junior high school where he had been hunting for teenage victims. He also kidnapped, sexually assaulted and killed two girls, ages 13 and 15, and stabbed a 16-year-old girl more than 40 times." How much choice did his victims get? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "one of the US major mistakes was allowing countries like Japan and germany to copy their inventions, and create better products. a very good example is the car industry." I'm not picking on you Falxori, but again, I can't let this one go either. The modern automibile was not invented by an American, Carl Benz invented the modern automobile. He was granted a patent for his three-wheeled, gasoline engine-powered car on January 29, 1886. The same year Gottlieb Daimler produced the first four-wheeled car powered by a gasoline engine. By 1894, Benz’s company was producing hundreds of cars a year and had even introduced an “economy” car called the Velo. By 1900, it was the largest automobile company in the world. The following year, Ransom Olds became the first American to use assembly line techniques to build his 1901 Oldsmobile. It is true that Henry Ford took these inventions and applied them in a successful way, but he didn't invent them. The source of this is here..... http://www.promotex.ca/articles/cawthon/2001/10-15-2001_article.html -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Not Legal!" Man, that is just so wrong! Oh well, they have one occasionally at Vichy, but that would mean visiting France....ach, what a dilemma! -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "usually, russian engineering is much better than any western designs, its the maintenance (and consumer experience) they lack... " Its often different, better value for money, and often more focussed on function rather than form. But I'd find it hard to describe it as 'much better'. Even if you consider the Former Eastern Bloc as opposed to just Russia... But my pride as a Scottish engineer can't let this one go..... That said, my all time favourite jump ship just has to be the marvelous AN72. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Happens pretty regularly, this one WAS last april. Get sponsorship and go, it would be a blast. You now have a year to jack it all up. How many other people in the pub have skydived onto the North Pole? "Some weekend soon, we'll put the gate across the top of the steps and put child-proof latches on the cabinets she can reach. " Yeppers recent chores of mine, at least you can let them go and have fun without worrying toomuch about them.. We also got a video guard, and some 'soft corners' for the jaggier bits of furniture. We use dummy plugs on the power sockets, but I don't think that is such an issue over there, the sockets are too small for little fingers. The wee man has quite a sense of adventure.

Two Brits who post here, Tasadin, and Zeemax recently did their AFF there. Maybe try PM-ing them. Seb has a pretty good reputation with visiting Brits. 12 days sounds reasonable to complete, but it will depend on your ability, and weather..... You'll enjoy it either way, and thats what its all about. Oh, welcome. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Audibles I have enjoyed and why.... Dytter...the first and classic one with a big brass dial, there was no other alternative around at the time. I bought mine second hand, its original femured and died, blue skies Andy. I passed this one on to a flegling who was freeflying but couldn't afford a new audible, its karma gear. Timeout, if you've ever met George Pilkington, then it difficult not to buy one of his products, or be swept up in whatever he is enthusiastic about. His infectious enthusiasm convinced me to get something with more than one beep. Pro Track for data capabilities after spending a little while dabbling with speed diving, and electronic logging. George admitted he was having hassles with the software for the evo 2000 at the time, otherwise I would have bought one. Timeout new slim model prototype. Free for testing, still have it and it still works fine. Pro Dytter, won it in a raffle. So this probably doesn't fit your research 'model' but I hope it helps! -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
