Ah chinooks, they have a bit of a potted history, they are grounded for civilian use here in the UK after one went down off Shetland killing 45 guys flying home from the Brent Bravo oil rig (I narrowly missed that flight).     I use a pelican http://www.pelican.com/case similar to Paul's Storm case. I hear they are expensive, but I didn't pay for mine so can't really compare. They are bombproof though, mine has been in all sorts of nasty places, on work assignments, and I don't have a complaint about its toughness.. For less fragile stuff, cables adaptors, bits and pieces, tools etc, I use an aluminium case from a regular photo/DIY outlet.     I remeber talking to Adrian about something similar. He was flying camera for patrick thru the grand canyon when it suddenly dawned on him that he was too low to deploy. So he had no option but to keep flying "over the next ridge" till he got some free air......The video then was just as stunning as this stuff. " Just the ones that catch on doors and wrap your reserve around the tail, especially if you are unfamiliar with the particular aircraft.. I guess if I lived in Finland, or wanted to party with my Scandinavian chums, I'd just bite the bullet and change the handles over, in this instance, its either play by the rules or don't play at all. Pros and cons of handle design have been discussed here ad nauseum, so I'm not going to start justifying my gear setup decisions.
