My memory of what the night clerk told me: The FBI came the next day (Thanksgiving Day). They asked about anyone who fit the description - the clerk had checked a man in who was his height - since the clerk was eye to eye with him and tall people just were not the norm in those days - he pegged the height. (I can vouch for this as I was one of the tall people in 1958 at 5'7" - I always stood with the guys and only 2 were the same height as I am and one was over 6'.) The clerk was able to tell them that the man asked for a Late Check Out - and that he asked about the bar near the hotel (it was connected in someway to the hotel). The clerk made some kind of remark about the man having a Tom Collins. He made this remark because of the man's name. (The clerk was just being friendly in his own 20 something way). It did not mean anything to him or stick out in anyway until the FBI came the next day (I would suppose it was a general check of all hotels in the area because the skyjacker boarded the plane there). If you were in your twenties and you had been interviewed regarding a Skyjacking - you would remember that too. When an article was done in a newspaper in the WA area (around 2000) describing my search, he learned the name used by Duane was John Collins - he took a serious look at the photo (that was the John Collins who checked-in) and proceeded to try to find out how to reach me. He did reach me and I do believe his story and will continue to do so until the FBI can prove it didn't happen. ======================= That hotel had several owners and name changes after that - I believe it was still there in 1996 when I first contacted the FBI and has since been torn down. ========================= Exactly what I have tried to say. I believe it is there - someplace or someone made a judgement call that it was not important to keep, All interviews of all hotels, etc made right after the crime should have been kept. We have to believe that the FBI was smart enough to do this in 1971. The clerk connected a suspect named Collins to the Crime and then 30 yrs later he reads an accounting about a woman whose husband confessed to the crime and whose alias was Collins. Like some incidents in our live we never forget - this man never forgot about the FBI interviewing him nor did he let go of the image of that man. 30 yrs later there is the name and a picture of the man he told the FBI about...what would you have done? I appreciate the kindness of all in the forum regarding me - lately. I understand where you are coming from about the things I say, but I am very careful not to allow false memories to creep in. I contacted the clerk to see if he was ill. I do not call China - I e-mailed him and it may be a few days before I hear from him. He is in a very rural area of China. Maybe this information will help CKRET find the files: He was the nightshift clerk for the Rodeway Inn on 82nd Ave Airport Road, Portland PDX. In Portland Oregon The FBI cannot find a lot of things. Number one and MOST important is the cigarrette butts.

As soon as the Clerk contacted me I called the FBI - it was Agent Mueller. I asked at that time about the Hotel registration card. His only and immediate response was "It would have been checked out and then destroyed". He did not say returned, but someone else later told me that it would have been returned to the hotel. I remember being furious (still am) that the FBI would "destroy" evidence. If as the other person told me it would have been returned why didn't they make a copy for the files? I am not angry at CKRET for past mistakes the FBI has made - just his reponse to what I sent him the other day...and his statement about all the witnesses being dead. DuH! What did he expect - I know 3 of them were alive the first time I mentioned this very thing to the FBI, but I didn't know how to go about finding them. My boss let me use the computer at the office at night - I did not have one at home until Jan 2000. DuH! All of the other individuals- that I told the FBI about and their lack of interest - the brother and the sister????? The ex-brother-in-law. All in 1996. In 1971 - most people did NOT call ahead for a ticket. You could usually get a ticket right up to boarding time. There were probably some fights to certain location where it was necessary. I left Haiti in 1971 on a commercial fight - without buying in advance. Had gone there on a chartered flight with a group and wanted to get out of there fast...bugs in the water, water cut off with shampoo in hair, the bed was crawling, the food was terrible (found out it was horse or dog). I remember the chartered flight was greeted by armed guards and we where forced to stay on the plane for a very long time before they allowed us off. A very poor country. My first time in a plane was to NY around that time and the Haitie trip was the second. I flew into Sandford, FL...don't remember if I changed or not - think I did. I am presuming that your post means you are TOTALLY ignoring what I sent to you. WHY? 12 yrs ago several people of interest where still alive - most of them Duane's age. The FBI contacted the ex-wife and the man who bought the car. The others were never contacted - and not even the man who threatened me - the man who knew Duane as John and Duane told me was dangerous. I do not believe the FBI even contacted the brother or the sister. You call that a timely and through investigation? The FBI waits until the sister and the exwife and the stepdaughter all die. The FBI did it their way and look where it got them. I give up - look where our government has taken us - to the brink of economic disaster. The way the government runs this country - is deploring. They let the lenders go about their terrible lending practices even though real estate agents like myself made complaints regarding what was happening as early as 2000. The government turned their head when people like myself kept complaining as early as 1999 and on into 2007 about the tactics of the lenders - and what was going on. I went inactive around 2003. At one point I advised my sellers not to give an extension. The buyers did not understand what they were getting into. I told the mortgage rep. they would never make it and it was an injustice to the buyer and that I did not like her tactics. The deal went thru and they lost the home when the house payment went up. I was one of the good guys - trying to do what was right and not there for the almighty dollar. If my buyers did not qualify - I was honest with them and tried to council them - like a friend or a parent. What the industry and our government has let happened makes me sick to my stomach. I called you and told you - I gave you a contact number I believe. He never heard from you and he was in the states for a month. THE FBI HAS HAD HS NAME AND CONTACT INFORMATION PRIOR TO HIS EVER GOING TO CHINA. Now he is in China and you make an issue of that - just about the time I think you are a real FBI agent you become a real j___ . He came forward in 2001 when Margie Boule did her article and that is how he contacted me - thru her. Before you make any more statements like that check your files and all of the information I have given you and Hope and agent Mueller in reference to Chuck C. You want to deny that the FBI checked that hotel and spoke with the clerk and owner then go ahead. They took the hotel registration with them - putting it in a plastic bag because of prints. The hotel nor the clerk ever heard from them again. There were 2 agents. If people are dead now - it is because the FBI did not act on things when they were alive. I told the FBI about several individual to contact and the FBI never contact any of them... I did this 12 yrs plus ago.... and repeately in this forum and other forums the FBI was aware of. The retired FBI was the only one who ever listened. Hope and the agent before him (Mueller) TOTALLY ignored me. That other agent - I don't have the name right but I can go back into my files and find it if you need it. The lead I contacted you about was told to the FBI before 2000. When they released him they knew he was Duane L. Weber and that is why I question the commutation being for John C. Snowmman I am being to think you are right - about Cooper being a nut. The history I have learned about Duane's past supports that. A 1st or 2ed grader taking a baseball bat to all the windows in a school. Pushing a upright piano down a flight of stairs because he didn't like his teacher in the 6th grade. Pushing a large boulder onto the highway - I have always wondered if anyone got hurt. Alters his birthcertificate to get in the war and then is out on a bad conduct charge. Turns around and gets into the Army by hook or crook - and we never found out all about that - the rumor is that he had just got off detention and takes the commanding officers jeep for a spin. Then we have him in CA doing all sorts of things - false ID's and thefts. Sent to McNeil although McNeils records have actually been destroyed (all they have is a short summary). McNeil hiistorian stated they did send 1st timers and those whose age was in question to camps - such as the CPS's and also farmed them out to dairies and orchard farmers. Every man counted - in other words they didn't leave him in the prison with hardened criminals when there was an alternative, especially since his age had been in error and there was a war. He had false identification listing him as several yrs older..don't remember what it was without looking it up...but he was actually 18 or 19...in a federal prison. His mother had altered his birth certificate by 1 yr and then he got married with a false ID. listing himself as over 21 before he went to Ca. and then ended up in McNeil. A member of the family had told me the parents arranged for him to go a program in CA. Then from early 1945 until 1949 or 1950 he disappears off the face of the earth. He wasn't in prison at least not under Duane L.Weber - so where was he and whose ID was he using. I know the answer to that one or at least I think I do - we will soon know the answer to that. Then this joker gets sent to SanQuentin and Folsom and when he gets out he is back in prison - this time in Co at Canon City. That record states something about a prison in N.Y. - for 1 day. Strange things get stranger now...he is seen someplace he was not supposed be and he is in prison? He acquires the ID of John C. Collins and lived and worked with that ID. until 1966 - from there he is sent to Jefferson under the name John C. Collins and this 6 time offender is release on a Commutaion in 1968. I haven't even touched on the yrs 62 thru 66...those yrs from what I have been told where ???? I won't even go there. Mafia, Chicago, N.O., Miami, Lawrence, Ks, Bloomington Mo.,CO, Ga, Ms - they got around and mostily running from the FBI. I cannot believe that I met and fell in love with this man - I look back and ask myself how he went from being all of that to being a decent husband for 17 yrs..what changed him. I certainly cannot take the credit for the dramatic change - yes, I schooled him in certain manners and he did some things I did not approve and he learned very quickly that was not how I was going to live my life. I will never know if he truely loved me or if I was a shield, because of my maiden name - maybe my roots are blonde after all..... He told me so many things - without it sounding like it was his own experience. But, my mind recorded these things and these places - one of which may be the one clue that brings all of this to an end....I truely hope so. He put his life out there infront of me - he hid his past and he told me about his past at the same time...all in plain site....Did he finally become the man he wanted to be (scared straight) - what life altering experience would cause this man to change his life? I would have to pull the files I have, but I believe I posted all of that before. It was the Jefferson record that was in the name of Collins. Others are his legal name and variations of his name. Snowmmmannn, have you been drinking? Duane Lorin Weber was his real name. The fingerprint card you just entered is different than the fingerprint card I have on file. I did not see any full prints of the left hand on the card or it didn't all download. Interesting observation. Now you got my attention! NOW, you really have my attention. I can assure you I did not choose the timing of my contact with the FBI and the Presidents speech. Now one more interesting fact - Jo talked to the FBI today....Sept 24, 2008...and he was nice. 90 days till Nov. 24 and close to the time Cooper boarded that 727. After I made the post this afternoon I called Agent Carr and gave him the information. I did not want to make the name or names known in a public forum. Surprise! Agent Carr was actually very nice to me and didn't try to cut me down or dismiss me. I gave him the names and variations of the name. My question to him "Was there a list kept of all suspects called into the FBI." He assured me there was. I went on to tell him that the name would have checked out and the man had an alibi . What the FBI didn't know was that someone else was using this man's identification in a different part of the country. I do not know how comprehensive our SS system was in the 40's - or even if the FBI checked SS records or if they asked for a photo of this suspect. If the "information" in question is confirmed not to be the "suspect" or that person, then the FBI needs to find out who that person was. At this moment I believe that Duane L. Weber was using this man's name and possibly his SS at that time and plus any credentials the actual "suspect" had stolen or lost. Like I have said this could sink like a cannon ball in water, but this is the most positive position I have ever taken and one that will put Duane in a chute or with the knowledge to have carried out the Cooper caper. I don't mind eating crow or being made a fool out of - I have done a lot of that in my life. I just want the truth. The truth sometimes hurts and sometimes the truth is hiding in plain site. Duane always told me if you want to hide something put it in plain site. This didn't make a lot of sense to me at that time...it didn't mean you needed to leave your money on the mantel, but you could hide something - there, such as in the hollow handles of the fireplace set. I will try to briefly answer all of the posts with this one. Hotel Clerk: If Notarization doesn't mean anything I will have him send a signed and written statement immediately. I have an email he sent with what would be included...but will wait for the signed copy. He cannot produce any documentation as all of that was taken by the FBI. I have repeatedly asked the FBI for a copy of the Hotel Registration which will have the name John Collins on it. So far NO answer from the FBI other than what another agent (Ralph Hope) told me a few yrs ago. He stated they would have checked it out and then destroyed it....I questioned this statement over and over....destroy evidence in a high profile case???? I have addressed this in the forum and with the FBI. Snowmman: He did not use any of those aliases - he used another persons identification? Like I said I am waiting for the FBI - if they choose to ignore me with this - I have no choice to go public. Orange: I am not doing a Galen Cook I promise you. This is recent and NO I have not posted this because I want to see if the FBI will do anything to prove or disprove it. I have set a dead line before I take this information public - by public I mean any media that can help me get the answeres regarding the suspect who was not a suspect. He is in the country and it takes a 2 hour bus ride to get to officials and they will not notarize Englilsh statements - He told me the other word they use for it - which is the same as our notary. The chinese are a different culture - you do it their way or not at all. If the foriegner who came to our country would be as respect ====================== Excuse me - there was a short statement made in the forum and we have his statement. When he was in the states last yr. he made himself available to the FBI, but they didn't bother with him. He then went back to China to finish his teaching contract there. We do have a rough draft but it is not notarized as the Chinese will not do this. When he comes back to the states we will have a notorized document. The FBI didn't care to make arrangement to meet with him while he was in the states to get an official statement. He needed the FBI to come to him in Portland. He had a lot to do in his short time in the states - a trip to Seattle was not on that list. The FBI could have interviewed him in Portland. He has spoke with me by way of phone recently about the delays and part of it is my address which I will mail to him. So please do NOT bash me about that one more time. I can post the email statement we have as it stands, but have chose not to do so, until it can be notarized. OKAY smarty pants: if you give me a private email address and your real name - I will provide you with what we have, plus the pictures and the names we have dillingently workes.for the last few wks. I make at least one call a day in reference to this and with 2 follow-up emails to get the pictures to them. So far the pictueres are not the subject we contact and the deceased subjects - the familys hav said - Not that is no Marvin, or Melvin I have had 13 yrs to learn to be patient - give it 3 wks and then you can complain...as for a PI - it would exhaust me just to try to show and tell him what i am looking for.....what you do not understand is IF I missed it or dismissed it my self - the FBI will have to be taken there with a rope around their neck and told to graze. I will hold on to this for a few days, to see if the FBI is going to do a simple SS search - also a government payroll search might do it - I am not sure how payrolls, etc worked in the 40's. First they have to verify the employment by SS records or whatever records they might have. Next they have to make sure the man in the picture is the man who was working at this place, They can do this several different ways. 1. Was there dual employment for a period of time on the SS. I do not even know when SS started. 2. Check government records for this name. 3. Find relatives who might have pictures of this man other than the ones I have. As per my investigation into this part - the man in the picture is not their uncle, father or grandfather. 4. As for the FBI's involvement - I am not the one to ask about that. I have spent 13 yrs of my life looking for this with a phone and a computer - having my sanity bashed at almost every turn. They have a chance to redeem themselves, but I will bet a dollar they sit on their hands before they check this out...beyond a SS look-up. . I realize that you guys are just having fun, but then I am dead serious. I am not talking espionage or big secrets - I am talking about a honest mistake made in the search for Cooper. In the 1940's there was a small group of men with-in an organization for varied reasons. Some conscientious objectors, others or idividuals not able to apply themselves to the military regulations. Others were there because the alternatives were few for 1st time offenders. It was war time - and man power was needed. This group of men came from all walks of life - when the group was dissolved - each went his own way. Some kept in touch with others, but one just vanished. Approx 25 yrs later Cooper jumped out of a Boeing 727 in 1971. One of the men who had been in this group - thought it might be the guy he worked with. The FBI was contacted with the name known to the group. When the FBI spoke with the possible suspect - he was no where near WA and ruled out as a suspect. The FBI never told the suspect who called the claim in, nor did they inform him under what circumstance he was being checked out. They didn't ask him if he live in XX at such and such time, or worked for XX at that time. Had they done so - they would have gotten a very blank look from this simple man - Where? Who? He just thought some of his old cronies had called it in as a joke. As far as the FBI was concerned it was simple. What the FBI nor the "suspect" knew was that another young man had been living under his name - and it was this young man who was the real suspect. The imposter used the other guys name for as long as it was convenient and went on with his life of crime and deception. He may have fathered a child under that name. This may be why I have never found Zona (because she had a different last name - her mothers or his alias). If this is true then the woman eventually knew his real name as he refers to this wife in correspondence to home from a prison in the 50's. The prison file included an alias Carr told me was just a mis-spelling - but it was a distinct AKA. By the way (Carr never provided me with any copies of anything)other than what he has put in the forum. I have been chasing the imposter in that photo for sometime - he does not exist under that name - Dead or Alive! It is a RARE name and finding deceased and living indivuals was expensive, but not difficult. I have spoke with brothers, children, nieces and nephews of most all of the families - with that same or similar name. Now is is time for the FBI to step up to the PLATE and find what I missed. They have the power to obtain SS records of individuals where as the general public cannot do so unless they are a survivor. It is such a rare name - it will not be difficult. If the FBI can't do this - then SHAME on THEM. I have been accused of asking the FBI for a lot - yet, what NO ONE seems to know is that my questions to the FBI are fielded thru this forum. I copy an occasional post and send it to Carr to be sure he gets it. If there is anyone out there who can help me in this particular vein of my search I would appreciate it. Now I am looking for a specific name and to find anyone who may actually have known this guy. Max if you are up there I need your help. I do not understand most of what that post is about. I knew I made a mistake about Marana - I typed Tx instead of AZ, but I knew it was AZ if you read the statements about Phonix and Casa Grande. Back in the days of WW11 and the the Korean War - A young man who had been in a lot of trouble with the law - uses another man's name. The guy jumps out of a plane in 1971 - someone he knew under the name Joe Blow gets on the phone and tells the FBI that this man is the Joe Blow he worked with 26 yrs before. The FBI checks out this Joe Blow, but he has a solid alibi with family and friends and not anywhere near WA. Joe Blow doesn't have a clue why the FBI are question him. Doesn't sound like much of a problem does it? Now go back and re-read what I just told you. There is a BIG problem with this. CKRET: Above is parts of some posts I made a few days ago - strange what putting the truth in front of some individuals does. I have had some contacts regarding some of those posts and a letter. Wouldn't you love to know what is happening, Ckret? Note has been taken regarding the fingerprints that I have discussed many times. I did not quote complete posts above. I hit a nerve with some of the recent information I posted. It was not new - just my wording it a little differently maybe. Due to this forum information was made available to me and contacts made that I could never have made on my own. Contacting the FBI is like leaving a message on a recorder if it involves Cooper - deleted or ignored. This was a statement made to me by one of my contacts over the yrs. The FBI wants Cooper to end and the only way they can do that is to put him in the brink - hence all of the recent hoop-a-la regarding the money. It is not over - it is just beginning. Fingerprints, altered composites used by individuals for publicity, information ignored and our own government deleting files or making them available when no one is alive to care. This is not the AMERICA that we fought battles for, men/women died for and that our children can no longer pledge allegiance to --- under GOD. GOD is not a religion, GOD is a creator and a power to which most look up too. We do not have to be religious to believe there is a GOD - even if you believe we are an accident of nature. Note: I have said this all along and it was stated by many in the days that the weather as he neared Porland was clearing and what the FBI and media has used for the weather conditions was what people want to hear and to continue the myth. All the misinformation has done is to stalemate the investigations into who Cooper really was. By the way Ckret didn't post that to the forum - so you must work with him. What you are reading is not the official FOIA. You are reading a brief come-on by a writer who before even had a date error at the time of the original posting.. I just went back to the site and the error was corrected. It is a tickler to pull the FOIA's and state the crime. I contacted the FBI site when it first came up about the error - but recieved no acknowledgement and have not been back until a moment ago. Don't believe everything you read even when the site says FBI. Note that article is archived, but I have an old one I printed and someday when I have time I will find it and scan it to show the error. What you don't understand is that these are things I told the FBI 12 and 10 yrs ago - I have acquired new things as time went on that support the basic story. Because I know that the FBI will never repeat the things I have told them - I am repeating these things in the forum, so they won't be lost forever and kept under a veil of secrecy. I am sure the FBI doesn't look at it (as a veil of secrecy) - but, since they have NEVER addressed the things I told them, Himmelsbach or anyone else - it means that they think my claim is so outlandish that they HAVE not nvestigated these things.. It is easier for them to allow the world to think of me as crazy or whatever other word others might use when referring to my claims, than to even remotely consider that I could not possibly make these things up regarding Duane's past and things said over a 17 yr marriage. If the FBI had SOLID proof Duane was not Cooper - I would think it decent of the FBI to share this with me. But, they have not done so. All they have presented stating he is NOT Cooper is less substancial than what I have said stated that indicates he WAS Cooper. If you could see my notes and records of conversations - you would know that I have not made "increasingly bizzare statements" - that I am only repeating what I told the FBI, Himmelsbach and others over the past 12 yrs. Yes, I learn things ever so often that explains a why and a possiblity for his doing or saying this or that. These new things only cement what I have said before. When I am terribly off base others have been quick to make that known and I accept that I sometimes go out on a limb, but somethings have NEVER changed. The evidence is in the facts and in those SS records - not something I have access to. All I have is what he said and what he did and what I saw. There are time that I am quilty of pulling on information that doesn't really apply, but that is all part of the discovery process. I was never one to think about whats and whys - I hated history, especially American History or Modern History. The yrs from 1960 until 1995 I was busy raising a family, making a living and taking care of a husband and a home...Current events in those yrs came and went - I had NO reason to know or understand them (other than the headlines). I never dreamt I would have to go back in time and read and learn about events that I accepted as just that in those days - events. I want to thank everyone in this forum for the vast accumulated knowledge that is contained within it members - and their tolerance of me. I will not back away from the fact that between 1944 and 1950 - Duane's access to WA, OR, CA and ID were the origins of his knowledge. I will not back away from the yrs 1962 - 1971 and the things that can only be explained by his being involved in some "group" that allowed him to utilize this knowledge. Galen Cook is hardly a spectator - I believe one of his interests is representing Unions and writing a book. ATTENTION CKRET: As for the CIA and its covert actions - the Kennedy files will NOT be released until sometime in the 2030 at which time most will not even know who Kennedy was, nor will anyone care by then. This way anyone who might have been involved will be deceased. No - I do not believe the FBI is involved but I do believe they have been "directed" in the past and records altered by the CIA. The composite that was used (the Bing Crosby look-a-like) was the only one used for yrs - the other composites were buried... by whom we can only imagine...but, there had to be a reason. There was "speculation" that the hijack involved MLK in the very beginning (wonder who suggested this) and other covert actions...but that was the days of covert so I supposed that kind of speculation was to be expected. Was there really some truth to the rumor? The FAA and Unions and CIA had critical situations going on during all of this time --- I will say no more on that subject and let you do your own investigations. Take the Marana, Tx operations - there are those who have died and their obituaries specifically state they were trained there for covert actions in Cuba among other places. This was during the very time that I question Duane's past - the John Collins days and his being in places he could not be in if he was in prison...1962 and then the following yrs.... The above also explains his extreme knowledge of planes. I have told the FBI and the forum before that he could look at a plane and tell you things about it that ordinary people could not - he caught himself - when I asked how he knew all those things -- he just read up one it...and this is the same time he mentioned working with planes...(cleaning and catering deliveries). He had to explain away his knowledge of these planes. If the FBI wanted me off their back - they could pull the SS for John Collins and find out who wrote his checks. Some from companies that have been reported to be part of the covert actions - these companies hired some agents who were ex-cons. Insurance agents supposedly cannot get a license to sell if they are a felon. This of course wouldn't mean anything to anyone who did not work in the insurance industry in the 60's. CKRET - would you have wanted Duane selling you an insurance policy? The insurance agent is given your name and this agent is calling you on behalf of your employer.....the FBI, CIA etc. One of these companies was mentioned in an article that stated it was a front for coverts...who supposedly sold insurance to FBI, CIA and other government agencies. Felons selling insurance to the FBI, CIA and other government agencies - there is SOMETHING wrong with this. Does anyone remember my search for the source of one of Duane's employments his ex-wife told me about? That company is mentioned in the articles about Marana, TX and in the JMwave entities. Duane is in and out of the Tuson, Casa Grande and Phonix area during those yrs...along with MN among the many others on the list. His connections with New Orleans are established...after he was running from the FBI as Duane L. Weber and before that as John Collins. Even when he was arrested and sent to MS - his wifes address is listed as New Orleans and her name is different. Didn't Ray deliver a package to a woman in New Orleans? Don't answer that because I know his testimony states that he did. Again I will mention the name Knutsen (how ever it was spelled). The FBI could easily trace all the employment for Duane L. Weber and John C. Collins from 1962 until 1969 - I can't because I am not the widow of John C. Collins and he was unable to include those benefits in his SS. I could go on and on like the energizer bunny but what is the use of it when no one listens or would rather wear blinders.
