March 13, 2002 On this day I would contact the ex-wife,but I called during the daytime hours. Normally she and I talked only late in the evening when she wanted to talk. I called her early in the day and told her that I needed to find the truth and that this thing was destroying me. It had been 7yrs since Duane had entered the hospital for the last time. In 1966 before Duane was incarcerated at Jefferson they left her kids with the ex (I assume she meant their father). They went to San Francisco - this was the trip they both talked about how she rode the trolleys and didn't want to stop. During this time in San Franciso he told her he had something he needed to do and he would be gone all day - he returned around 2 or 3 the next morning. She spent the day at the pool and had a few drinks at the bar. She thought he went to Pasadena. I don't know how long they stayed there, but it must have been for a few wks at least...due to other things she said. He had some business to take care of up the West Coast and SEATTLE, but she was not feeling well and he took her to AZ where her sister was living. He was gone 2 or 3 wks. When he returned to AZ they headed to MN, but due to a problem they ended up in Chicago (a few wks) and then later to MN. She mentions going to N.C and to Washington DC to an Elks Convention somewhere not too far from the White House. (She had never ever told me this story before). She also mentioned going to N.C. before going to Washington DC. (I have to assume this was before going to Chicago). The rest of this conversation revolves around early 1972, but I will save that for the next post. I have only shared this phone conversation with one person beside personal friends. I would have to go back to my logs to see if I called the FBI and informed them of this conversation I expect I was so pissed at the FBI I only shared it with the person I sent the email to since he was the only one willing to help me collect information. Where was it? Why would Duane be going to such a convention - he never stayed out of trouble long enough to be an Elk? Usually they were intense and long posts - the system or my computer would loose the site or not let me make the post. This does NOT say it is was intentional as you have indicated. Often I loose a post because I hit the wrong darn button if I am in a hurry and that is frustrating. NOW, Snowmman - I am moving into my files to the last part of 2000 during all the media frenzy. Things I explored because of what the ex told me or that Duane had said, Many individuals contacted me but one was very persistent. He was like you Snowmman - except I baited him and he took the bait. He took a very remote piece of information and built a story around it. Fortunately this was handled in emails and not on a forum. Parts of his story even you would believe because...he talked about a mind control program - even Cook mentions this as something Gossett was involved in. I have only started reading some of the first emails - and I should have held on to my first gut instinct...that this was just an individual whose life Duane passed through. I didn't have to get very far before I saw the pattern. I have 7 yrs of these to read. I fed him and I baited him and his story evolved. He always claimed to have supporting evidence - to support his claim, but never produced it. I often even thought you were this person...and that he had multiple personalities. Now don't get mad - I said "thought" at one time. Until late 2000 I had little contact with indivuals who had a knowledge of the crime and I had limited availability to information and outside influences. I explored things just like you guys explore things about the flight pattern and the jump. What I did - was to explored the things Duane and his ex had told me. Doing this publically took away from my credibility - I forgot I was on a witness stand (figuratively speaking). As a witness I was not supposed to explore the reasons, make allegations, find cause, investigate the incident or discuss relative and unrelated information regarding things I had witnessed and been told. Everything I said was put under a microscope and analyzed... My searching for the truth and exploring any possibilites only caused me to be discredited - that doesn't seem fair. How many of you could have done this for almost 13 yrs with the last 8 yrs being very public and very intense. Please excuse the underlines and bold captions along with the little icons, but this is the last you will see of them. The internet is what brought me this far and I am not ready to back down - I know nothing about blogs other than they are something teenagers do with absolutely no intelligent feed back the way I get in this forum...I also take a lot of crap. What I am doing now is still answering Oranges' question regarding the night clerk. After that you will find a statement from me. I have been thru the whole yr of 2000. I had actually forgotten exactly what transpired. In August of 2000 Margie Boule of the Oregonian did an excelllent article regarding Cooper/Weber. The repsonses where over whelming and I never returned all of them as I noticed in my review. Through that article - I found and communicatied with William Mitchell the college student who sat near Cooper. We exchanged communications - first thru his daughter and then between the two of us. There was also a woman I have become very good friends with and who assisted me when I went out to WA in 2001. Her husband had observed something after the crime that she felt I should know. Through Margie and the article I met the night clerk. At that time I questioned what he said and was very skeptical. I did not ask him to go to the FBI, but they were given his name and contact information...they did not contact him. That article in the Oregonian opened up a flood gate of contacts including the gate man who said he needed to see more photos. (I don't think I was ever given a contact address to send the other photos to). Others came forward who claimed to have been in the terminal and said Duane was the man they saw. I did not ask for the names of these individuals and now in retrospect maybe I should have. The 2 magazine articles and news article brought many offers of TV specials, books, movie options and others. (Looking back I was surprise there were actually as many as there were). I chose to only accept one program because they offered to take me to WA. I would later accept another offer because of the content of the program. I did not feel I knew enough or had enough information to consider a book or movie. I had one bad experience with a man who wanted to write a book and that was enough for me. My statement: I trusted the FBI to investigate Duane. Prior to the US News Article and the article by Margie Boule in the Oregonian - the FBI lied to me - or they had NOT checked the obvious. This was evident because of the agent's responses to me - but he never expected me to go public after 4 yrs. He (the FBI) lied to me - by stating for example " Your husband was never in McNeil" and I am holding the damn papers in my hand as we were talking. It was at that point I decided to go public. I had been talking to Pasternak for over 2 yrs prior to that conversation, but chose to not go public and let the FBI deal with it. That day on the phone. I called Doug and said "Let's do it!" This has been the hardest 8 yrs of my life, but I do not regret it because I know that in the long run I did the right thing. The only part of all of this I regret is the fact that my recently deceased husband had to share me with what I was doing. When I met him I did NOT tell him what I was involved in - and when told me "we have a future together" it was only fair to let him know what he was in for...this was almost a yr later. I hope this answers any question that have been presented to me about the night clerk and why I went public. And now you know the rest of the story. Thank you for your tolerance and I hope that you now understand that I did NOT go public for over 4 yrs. Yes, I have been gullible and regretfully allowed myself to get swallowed up by others whose only course of action was to discredit me. I have been on trial for 8 yrs now and the jury is still hung, due to lack of evidence. This has been the longest day of my life...and I am very tired. I looked for truth and justice - the only way I could, but it wasn't good enough.,,I allowed myself to be manipulated in my search because I had become weary and desparate for answers.

The first 7 months of 2000: Because of the computer I was able to start tracing people from Duane's past. Two individuals I tried to contact both deceased after I made my initial contact - I would learn of these by newspaper articles and the computer. Then I make an inquiry about a third person (also recently deceased)and get a phone call from someone out of Duane's past. His phone call made me nervous, but I did manage to ask him about things I needed to know such as owners of/or interest in the Midnight Sun and another major club in Atlanta yrs ago. A woman from WA contacted me thinking that Duane may have been her Grandfather (located in the Des Moines area where-ever that is).. I do not know why I ruled this out, but will revisit it and see if I draw the same conclusion now. During this time period - early 2000, the ex finally admitted they lived in Chicago for a short period. I was also able to locate the area Duane took me to in WA - when I would tell someone what I was looking for they always wanted to go further North. The computer was an amazing things - I found the area with a little help from individuals who sent me some topographical ground maps - I verified these locations in 2001 when I went to WA. There was no question by the driver who was undercover narco - that I had been there before. During these first few months of 2000 - I learned information that still to this day conflicts with information regarding Duane's criminal background. It would be mighty NICE of the FBI to provide me with a copy of these records (something I was promised in this forum, but NEVER received). I am willing to pay for the copies and postage if this is too much of a burden for the FBI. I communicated with a man I knew only as the peregrinator - whoever he was I poured my heart out because I could not understand why certain government organizations had ignorned me and lied to me. With the computer I had been able to explore many of those things myself. I was connecting dots and tracing Duane's work records. LaMesa TX, Muchheback Hotel KS, Mobile Terra Catering Co, Modulus Corp, New Orleans, Scottsdale AZ, Miss, La - Duane's infamous run from the FBI for several yrs (yet, was he really in prison all of that time - why I need incarceration records). You cannot be working in all these places and be in prison at the same time...the time frame of 1962 to 1966. This is why I need to know from the FBI their own records and not what has been obtained by individual enquiry and letters. Clerks make mistakes. So does the FBI. June 2000 I have a very bad Auto accident with multiple broken ribs and facial cuts and knee injury - was unable to work for several wks. July of 2000 - the US News and World Reports prints an article about Duane Weber written by Doug Pasternak One of the last articles written by J.J. Maloney was very interesting. I have always said that "If Duane was not Cooper he sure as Hell knew who was". I have stated that from day one. I am cleaning house and old files. You will be interested to know that although the FBI claims to have done an extensive background check on Duana Weber the following information is recorded and stated. As of a post in March 2000 the FBI denied that Duane was EVER at McNeil and stated he was never in the army. They are on record as stating that the number on his military records belonged to a Wavy Greene. Does that sound like a thorough FBI check of Duane L. Weber? I frankly think the FBI needs to let the public know WHEN they did this background check...and why the agent of record before March 2000 had told me these things. I told the agent he had not done a check of Duane because I was holding the papers from McNeil and a letter written from a Army post. Just want to refresh the mind of those who have not followed this from day one. We NOTE a strange thing - the FBI has never STATED - which hand Cooper held his cigarrette in. Statement made by ex-wife "I didn't go to Portand with him --- I was at my sisters in Lorranine". I dont' know what time span she was referring to...I knew then but not now. Question - what was Duane doing in Portland???? Note that one of Duane's ex's worked for an airport and we never found Daisy Schuler - a wife of record. Date of birth on the McNeil Prison file is June 18, 1920. Duane was born in 1924 or 1925. That same month I am on to the Fire Jumpers and the near calamity at Hanford E Works in WA. Then on to Operation Firefly - so you see my chasing Fire Fighters started in the very beginning - I have articles dating 1997 and 1998 when I was allowed to do searches in the office after everyone had left. I jump off into some firefighting episodes - such as 1945 Klamath National Forest in CA. Where was Duane in July of 1945? That is something for the FBI. Communications with someone from Duane's past -- every time Chigago and "a specific name" came up in a conversation the subject changed abruptly - with "I do not want to go there". Mc Neil prisoners where used in the logging industry????? Coffelt is reported as being in the Phoenix, AR area in July of 1960. Remember Duane's connections to Phoenix in the 60's. Brown was in the Sandy Springs area where Duane lived. Coffelt met Brown in Atlanta. My research showed a Coffelt in the Canon City, Co prison but unknown if related to the suspect Coffelt. The clerk contacted me from a Newpaper article Margie Boule wrote for the Oregonian. He did not know my email nor was I posting anywhere at that time. I think 101 was my first posting experience in the fall of 2001. The article Margie Boule did was in 2000 and it was due to that article I was contacted by the night clerk. Our first contacts where by phone. Margie did a follow up article in 2001. Hope I have the dates correct, but I do not have copies of those articles - I suppose they have gotten lost over the yrs or I just can't find them. Yes, he is real and he is who he said he was and he did work for that hotel...I did contact the FBI at that time about what he told me and the registration mentioned at that time to the me and I related this to the FBI. The FBI claims they have new "evidence' they are suppose to present. I have new "whatever" but that depends on the actions of the FBI. I believe that is what everyone is hanging around for and like myself using repetive information and or rebuttals. If the FBI doesn't look at the things I and others (not on this forum) have disclosed to them recently - we have a course of action in motion right now. The results of this action could end my search in the negative - but, at least it will be over...I will have done everything I could do.... If what I am going to do produces more circumstancial evidence - how will the FBI explain that away? We may not put Duane on the plane or in the chute...but, we will do the next best thing. Why suddenly are you guys harping on the night clerk? You all know what going public means to a career and someone's health, but then maybe you don't care. The FBI cannot say anything if he did come forward. They have to verify anything a witness states or they face consequences. Should the FBI damage a man's career or well being by revealing any statement given to them as a witness without his written and expressed acknowledgement they could be held liable. This is the very reason other individuals who may know something DO not come forward. Fear of being ridiculed by not only the FBI, but the media. One good example is our recent Presidential campaign. More than one person has contacted me in regards to having met or known Weber or Cooper. There has only been one night clerk...and he is REAL. Want to talk about the man who claimed have been in jail with Cooper/Colllins in OR.? Want to talk about a man who claims he was part of a CIA subversive operation? This is just a sampling of individuals who have spoke with me and NOT the FBI. Because the FBI doesn't have the time or the money - or won't listen. At least I listen, but I verify and verify and most times I dismiss the claim as "Hog Wash". Some of the claims seem so "delusional" that it is easy, but then there comes along that one you know is real. In one case, I dismissed the man as a NUT, but there was a truth to his story I couldn't make go away and have not been able to dismiss, nor do I attempt to do so...I just accept that he "did" know Duane in some way because of something he told me. One individual came to me with a story that I know is true. Duane Weber caused a lot of pain and heartache in the lives of some of the people whose lives he passed thru. The man you would meet with the winning smile - had a secret side to him. He was generous and giving and loving, but the other side of him was sad and angry and calculating. Duane's personality was sometimes childlike. His look of glee when he knew he just did something good - a grin you will never forget. If he was angry that lower lip was an unforgiving and angry looking pout. Good judgement is something that is acquired...or required. This is the only thing that explains our 17 yr marriage. Four days of phone calls - having others look at that picture. Your making an immediate and ballistic post to my (smoking you out) response does NOT say you calculated and searched for that picture. I just wrote and deleted a story I made up about a mean old cock roach, but that story serves no purpose other than to hurt someone who had NO control over anything that happened yrs ago. We are not our father nor our grandfather - and to go to such extreme measures to hide the past makes the son or his son as quilty as the grandfather. The photo I have attached that you claimed was made in Vietnam. I have been asking a lot of question in a lot of places - one thing they all tell me - this photo was NOT Vietnam. Two of the old veterans told me what they think the beer is - but want to be sure...I meet with them next week. Guess at their age they have to check their old pics. The trees and foliage are not Vietnam. But then maybe they were never in the part of Vietnam you claim the photo was made in. My neighbor was born and raised in Vietnam - their family is still there. The DNA was MULTIPLE PARTICIAL DNA's and the FBI has NEVER CONFIRMED IF that tie was the one Cooper reportedly wore. (It has been stated by prior FBI that the tie was found neatly folded over on the seat next to where Cooper sat). THERE IS NO PROOF THIS WAS A TIE EVER WORN BY COOPER. Also NO ONE has acknowledged the paper bag or what was in it. Tina has never been reported as stating that Cooper removed his tie. Maybe no new Physical Evidence, but more circumstancial evidence regarding at least 2 of the suspects - a connection between the 2 individuals. The forum doesn't want to investigate this nor does the FBI - I am doing what I can. SUCH as: When Duane was arrested before his last incarceration - others where involved. What IF one of those was another person investigated by the FBI as being Cooper? What if that person had the necessary knowledge to make the jump? SNOWMMAN: I notice you sure went quiet about that photo. Hope you can prove how you got it and who the people are......! Does this mean that they ARE NOT going to look for that supporting evidence in the FBI files? If not, will they allow private researchers into those files? Would an individual Not be ABLE to obtain a court order requiring this search be done - either by the FBI or private enities. So that means NOTHING will be done regarding a recent statement provided to the FBI, nor any search involving a name and a picture I provide, nor connections of old suspects that make a connection to between suspects. I need to know if any of this will be handled by the FBI - IF NOT, then I will have to take a course of action I had hoped never to be necessary... Excuse me I do NOT and DID not know if he had a car or not. The Stub that I believe to be a parking stub is why I felt there had to be a car - stolen, borrowed, rented or owned. Also a statement about a specific location off of what I thought was 500 that he stated leaving a car there one time...not too far from an old airport. I have never stated he left ALL of the money and my trying to figure out how he got from point A to point B and so forth is only from going back to those places physically and in my mind and on maps (just like you guys do with the aviation). The only thing different is I was physically taken to these places...and he told me certain things about specific locations. I don't know the FBI doesn't want to solve this case. All they have is what they have been able to find on Duane and other suspects. The difference here - is I knew Duane and the places he took me and the things he said and did over a 17 yrs span of time. I am able to see this from a different perspective - because I am completely focus on this case and not 2 dozen other cases... I am able to put pieces of Duane's life together from friends, relatives and the things he told me - ALL the FBI has is the criminal records and the 2 or three interviews they did with associates of Duanes. I was told his file was extensive - I would like to see it and how extensive it is. Ex-employers where NEVER interviewed, the stepchildren were never interviewed, Anne was not interviewed by the FBI and even though I have heard it stated in this forum - Duane's brother nor sister where never interviewed As far as I know NO attempt was made to interview them. I have provided the FBI with individuals and with information to follow and they never did this. There are certain things I as a citizen nor a private detective have access to - the FBI has NOT gone into the things I have asked - some of them are as simple as a SS record. I realize this is a very old crime - there is nothing in the budget for it and what has been done has been because of media attention. There was a new developement on my part recently, but I have spoke with Carr and he did not mention this (perhaps he thinks I do not know). I did not ask him about this information and because if involves priviledged information he cannot talk about it..but the supporting documents should be buried in the FBI files if this incident actually happened. I am disturbed they have not found the supporting documents - that certainly does not sit well with record keeping on the part of the FBI. This was not physical evidence and that is what it is going to take. FBI supporting documentation would be considered evidence if they find it. How do I find physical evidence 37 yrs after the fact. Ciircumstancial evidence continues to mount - even with the Monkey Sh-- that has been thrown around by the forum. Since the forum only makes contact with a select element of the population maybe I should go a few step in a different direction. It was suggested as many have that a book be written, but I have seen the D.B. Cooper Wannabe's come and go over the past few yrs since I went public in 2000. I do not want to be one of those statistics. What some individuals DO NOT understand is that my search is based on real people and real information - that to tell ALL of the story it would have to be told as fiction and that just will not do the job. Some of my research - went places in the personal lives of innocent and not so innocent individuals - many who have died, but they do have relatives. I would not want to do a book and end up sitting for the rest of my life in a court of law trying to settle law-suits with Tom, Dick or Harry claiming they were used toward a financial end. I have not come this far to go that route. I am going to make one last attempt to prove what I have been saying - where it will go I do not know. Like the election - it is up to the voters. They will get to view extensive photos and information not made public before - this will also be an attempt to have someone come forward with information about the past of Duane Weber. Perhaps Snowmman we can find out who is in that photo you said was made in Vietnam. Perhaps I will find someone who knew Duane and Edna (even if he was living under another name) and the daughter Zona. I haven't given up on a miracle just yet...time is my enemy...I should have done this 12 yrs ago instead of WAITING for the FBI to do something or to tell me what they have done.
