I don't know what information you have regarding Duane's eye site from 1971. We know that in his last yrs - glasses were required for driving but that was the last yrs. only. As we age we depend more and more on our glasses. It will be after the first of the yr before I can have a professional give me an OPINION of whether Duane's eyesite in 1993 can in any way have predicted what his eyesite was in 1971. I have already told Orange that I would take the script to my optician and have him tell me if HE CAN make a JUDGMENT CALL as to what Duane's eye site would have been 22 or 23 yrs before. If he can not then this information would be useless. I will not be able to go until after the 1st of the yr. What someone's sight was in 1983 is cannot predict what their sight was 22 yrs before. Why not let a PROFESSIONAL make this call - ( a man with the RX in his hands). If he can state it. This is not something to be handled in a forum. If the Dr. cannot not make a statement regarding this after reading the RX in his office then the forum is NOT a place to make conjectures from a picture. I know not what his script was in those yrs. - ALL I do know is that during the early part of our marriage he DID not need glasses for driving nor for firing a gun with absolute accuracy (old eagle eye). I am glad someone here is in that profession. I do know he was far-sighted, but the last script was not strong and that was about 22 yrs after Cooper jumped. He needed glasses - or chose to wear glasses most of the time during our marriage. Hopefully your explanation can be understood better than mine (as mine is only from personal exposure and the fact I am near-sighted (since age 8). When my friend needed reading glasses in our late 50's I was able to read and do office work without my glasses. The Dr. told me that what happened was related to the prebyopia and as time has progressed I am still able to read without my glasses.,,and read the computer screen. Photo taken in 1979 in Salt Lake City. This guy was working in the old Business Administration Building - which also housed Church Literature and Visitors Centre. Other offices also occupied space at that time in the building. Duane had gone into look at the directory - and went down the hall. He said the man was just leaving. We went out and he set me up in front of the Assembly Hall and told me that he wanted me to take pictures - and when a man with a brief case who would be coming out of the building to our left that you cannot see (was set way back and lots of trees) I was to take that mans picture. Duane left the area so this man could not see him - why all the secrecy - why didn't he want this man to see him with me taking a picture. When the pictures were developed I put them in the album and Duane asked me where the negatives where - (I thought that was ODD at that time) and only recently found the significance of this photo. When and if you guys do - this case is over. I am still waiting for the confirmation of what I was told about who this was and what the emblem (chevron) on his cuff means. This outfit appears to be a civilian outfit with brass buttons and a chevron on the cuff - that was and is a clue. Only an elite few were allowed to wear this chevron on the cuff of civilian clothes. Who is this man, what does the chevron mean, and what was his past and why did Duane NEED this picture? I already have the answer to parts of this, but want verification. I want if from several sources - just because. I gave this to the FBI months ago and told them about it yrs ago with - Zero interest on their part. I didn't start anything about Ochards (just from looking at an old black and white topographic map a man sent me in the mail) and I have claimed that was the area (I know that area is part of it - the map I was using was not real good) that I thought this was the area Duane took me to -not that he was part of any search team. I have consistently been asked to produce proof. You produce the complete document where I have agreed that Duane was in that search. It was suggested to me but didn't make sense then and doesn't make sense to me now. Don't use sentence fragments - use the whole document. There is one man out there I fed things to - just to find out if he was real...if it involved this person - the discussiom could have happened - want to read some the crap I put out there to test people in regards to what they were claiming...I can give you some doozies. Like the one legged man and that is said tongue in cheek. I was also led down a lot of false road - but I would back off and realize what I was being told was not possible - such as many things this forum has led me too - BUT I have always gone back to the basic. Snowmman that make two of us. If I remember right there was a mention in a book or news article of another search in that lower area, but would not even know the time frame of the search. Himmelsbach and I had lots of conversations with me throwing out things - fishing for information in those early days. He never volunteered information and was very careful to never say something that was not already public knowledge. I expect you will find that information in writing someplace in a public media. My memory says there is mention of another search in the lower area, but tonight I am too tired to think. Tired from doing nothing but being on this damn computer and using up my Holiday feelings. I never agreed with or suggested that Duane participated in any search...I had a Boss who claimed he (the boss) participated in the original search. If someone introduced that as a way of Duane knowing the area - I might have said maybe and checked it out with the same results I got today - except I went one step further this time. I have spent the last 2 hours on the phone. First I was angry at Sluggo and then I made a phone call to the one person I did not want to talk to - I was assured what Sluggo has said NEVER happened. After this phone call and others I had made yrs ago to other parties - and with Duane's work records - I will assure you DUANE WEBER was not part of any search party nor did he go to Wa in 1975 or the yr before or after. He did not meet the wife of those times until 1972 - so MJ's accounting of the times is accurate. MJ divorced Duane in I think May of 1972. and Duane remarried in the summer of 1972. TO ALL: I do not have Old Timers, but I have been overwhelmed with trying to keep all of this information in my head. I do not have the computer knowledge to catelog these things so that I can pull them up with KEY words and the files are VAST...with much of it NOT on the computer. The computer crashed a couple of time over these 13 yrs and some information lost - but it is all in hard copy and some on disks. I have kept a hard copy (paper) of most things. For my age I think I do a remarkable job of keeping things in order in my mind. Due to the stress of all of this - I am having the normal problems with short term memory like many my age and remember that during part of this I was nursing a very sick husband for several yrs. It is a miracle that with all I have been thru with the Cooper thing and my last husband's health that I do as well as I do. By being the oldest 68 yr old my sister knows - she was referring to my physical health. The dumb Blonde syndrome - you all know is an act. Dumb I am not, naive yes. I was a wife who did not ask question - but that doesn't mean I was not aware nor that I didn't remember or unable to recall when it was necessary. As for my ability to recall I will go up against all of you - I keep the details sorted out better than the rest of you do. Duane was not involved in any search of Cooper - this is a seed planted by Sluggo and I know it is not true (one reason I do not allow Sluggo to post some things regarding Duane and I). Guys I started this as a healthy 55 yr old and my life was just fine. I was working and dating and eventually remarried..I had all the purpose to get up every morning I needed. What I didn't need was the Cooper saga. I have jumped in hard and heavy the last 2 yrs because I have had time on my hands and my health has not been good. So the part about unfinished business is true. I won't deny that one. For yrs I wanted to go thru the negatives and see what was there and I have yet to check on a lock box I located a few months ago because it requires a trip to a near-by city. The reciept fell out of something I was going thru - I found no Key so I think it had already been cleaned out before Duane died...Will get that done after the first of the yr. Reference the Glasses . I know but I was answering the question he asked. Those glasses were very common at that time... They were all over the place - they weren't anything special. What I think is unusual is a middle age couple all dressed up to go out - his hair fresly dyed with brown suit and tie with a gold shirt and she with her wig on. (picture taken with a polaroid camera) Next picture is at a flea market with a briefcase under the table and glasses in her hand. (also taken with a polaroid). She sent me both of the pictures before she died. WHY? Did she have them all along? Why did she decide to share them with me - she sent me the originals...that was even more odd. I was going to make copies and send the originals back to her, but she wanted me to have them. How or why would you or do you stage something to be used over 30 yrs later. Did she know at the time what was going on or was it after the fact - the same way he used me? I talked to her from 1997 until she died in November of 2005 or 2006(geeze I forgot what yr she died). You must not wear glass or have been around a lot of people who wear glasses. Far Sighted means tha you can see better than the average person things far-away, but things up close such as reading would need adjustment. I am near sighted. I can read and work on my computer without glasses - but watching TV across a room or getting behind the wheel of a car requires glasses. Nature has a way of making temporary adjustments during our lives due to Presmyopia - which is the aging characteristic of the eyes. What this means is the two stages cross and for a period of time a person might not need glasses for whatever purpose they did in the beginning. I know this is true with near- sightness. I don't know if they have this cross-over being Farsighted. Regardless - at age 45 he didn't need glasses for driving - just reading and close work. Farsighted guys make good sharp shooters without glasses, but they need glasses to load the darn thing. Duane was actually drove a lot without his glasses, but then if he had to llok at map he needed his glasses - so he used a bifocal The lower vision was strong - the upper vison needed little corrections even at 68 which is the last time he had his glasses changed. The Vegas System was done using multiple photos and I can say without a doubt this little experiment and all of this drooling Snowman and Georger are making will not hold up against that system. I have already explained the glasses - Duane needed them for close up and not for distance - DO you know what FAR sighted means? He could shoot a pine cone out of a tree without his glasses. He culd see a fox without his glasses - I always missed them. I didn't meet Duane unti 1977 - and any photos I have of him from before that have been acquired by asking and some that were volunteered. If you were Cooper would you want pictiures of yourself out there without glasses and with sunglasses on - would you want anyone to even get a hint you were Cooper? NO. As for the mouth of the prison photo - He was Mad as Hell wasnt he. Some of you are so set in your opinion that Duane was NOT Cooper that you failed to see the obvious - you focused on the expression and the lower lips - what you didn't see is the turn at the corners of the mouth. Then look at the other photos and note the lips are very similar to the composite - put a slight pout of agitation on the regular lips along with the down turn corners and you have the mouth Rose was trying to draw. The only way to know for sure - is what no one has done - Do a photo line up with Tina using ALL of the suspects with multiple photos of each and look-a-likes, then add in a few decent matches from the general population. These pics to be used should be chosen by surviving memeber of the families - then we will know a fair representation has been done. If I had photos (multiple pics of all the suspects) and other look-a-likes I would try to go to Tina myself...but if i did that the FBI would refuse anything gained from such a meeting. Frankly I think about it a lot, but then I ask my same question every tiime. What if she were my daughter? I have not ever given up that little piece of hope that one day she and I will meet privately, but after all these yrs it will not happen. Duane was FAR sighted and did not need prescription glasses for the jump - this was to his advantage. He could drive without glasses. And yes he had sunglasses and he had prespription sunglasses during our marriage - but he was older and your eyes change as you age. I do not know if he had prescription sunglasses prior to our marrage in 1978. Attached is a pair of sunglasses he owned in 1971 - and this is not a staged photo...the woman was his wife and they both owned a pair of these glasses - you have seen this before and we discussed all of this before...in detail. The photo was taken around the same time as the dye hair (polaroid shots). I am attaching a second photo of the glasses she is holding - dead ringers aren't they - This photo was taken in the fall of 1971 in Georgia - I believe this is the Sandy Springs Market. This is the closest I can come to the glasses being in the LDS safe in Salt Lake....HAHAHA. You are using a very old prison shot that was scanned by the brother and squashed - The shots before and after are not like that. There was total distortion of the head and face on that one prison shot but it was used by the media in the beginning becaue we didn't have anything else except the other photo I had. You are also using the BING CROSBY composite - the witnesses will tell you it was a no Bananas thing. This is how Cooper got away...by the time the FBI put out a decent composite, Cooper was gone - he had changed his looks -longer hair and dental work - gained weight and Ha Ha Ha they would never catch him now. I am sure none of you are interested my what I am currently doing, but I will tell you anyway. The man in the picture in front of the Assembly Hall in Salt Lake City in 1979 - but I have continued to work on it. Today (sunday) I went to one of the Vet organizations and took the picture along with a magnifying glass since it would be seniors looking at it and I could only enlarge it so much without distortion. My thinking that the "outfit" was not military is a given...just an out rageous suit of the times. The Chevron on the cuff - got their interest - they gave me the contact number and location of 2 individuals who can probably identify the "outfit" and the purpose of the chevron. It designates rank and one of them thought these were allowed on civilian clothing for certain individuals - it was a honor made available for a kind of award or type of service during that specific war. I never heard of anything like that. (One out of 9 men in their 70's and 80's - maybe that one had too much to drink). No I didn't buy them a drink . They were only told that I was trying to find out why this picture was so important to my deceased spouse. They do not know me as Jo Weber and Cooper was not mentioned. No one in my community is aware of who I am - and I keep it that way. They are under the impression I am looking for relatives who might not have his last name and that finding out what the "outfit" and chevron are might help my search. Only select individuals have seen the face of the individual...but if the designation turns out to be what the man thought, it will correlate other information I have. Sluggo - How do we get good copies of those composites - obviously placed in to evidence with the 1973 composites if the ID on the front is iany indication of that.
