My reaction to call the FBI was not just the book - it was the sudden surge of memories - when I found that D.B. Cooper had given the name Dan Cooper. All of those memories exploding so fast and so vivid - I did not know who Dan Cooper was until that night. As for the other relentless quips you make I will state again - I gave copies to the FBI. It is their job to check things out NOT mine. If I had paid for an expert handwriting analysis - I would have been my doing the FBI's investigation for them. Maybe they did make a comparison, but I have never been told anything about what they did or did not do other than the DNA. Covert March 1962 Operation Mongoose All coincides with Duane's get out jail free pass - Canon, Co. This is when Duane received the John Collins ID issued in Miss. and lived under that name for several yrs. He would not abandon that name until 1968 when he is released from yet another prison - Jefferson. D.C. interesting but for an all together different reason. That is were Coffelt was living. Correct ----------------------------------- Correct --------------------------- I did not know the composition of the bucket or if he use one of more buckets - just that the shed was full of 1 gal and 5 gal buckets. I do not know what they held in prior yrs - paint, plaster, feed, etc. ------------------------------------- I do NOT know if there was more than one bucket nor do I know what he dug up - he was missing for 5 hrs plus near The Dallas and then again for an afternoon while we were in Seattle. The bag he threw into the river was not large - what I call take out size. I do not know if he secured the top - the only thing he would have had in the car would be those big rubber bands. ---------------------------------- This is the only reason I have EVER said that the money was in a bucket because of what he said. I actually do NOT know what it was in. ----------------------------------- The rubber band was ONLY suggested by me as a way of securing the bag - we had them in the car. He could just as well have tripled the top over and threw it that way. He was watching it go down stream when I got there. ------------------------------------- Now I would say that is about accurate with those corrections. Feb of 1980 is when the FBI went public about the money find. I remember this because the day after the find was reported in the newspaper - Duane submitted his resignation. If Georger was involved as he has mentioned in the forum then the opinions will be biased - he has made it clear in the forum what he thinks of me, but I will hope for the best. Georger (supposedly a money specialist) is away for a wk and then we get a message from Ckret. What could they discover with new technology about the money. 1.How long it had been in the water. 2.How long it had been in the Columbia. 3.If it had ever been buried elsewhere and then thrown in the river. 4. If there was blood on it (the cut on Duane's hand). 6. If the marks match a part of the jumping apparatus. 7. If the marks match a part of the belly pack. 8. If more money was there than they thought. 9. If there is residue that shows the money was buried in a container. 10. DNA not likely - the money has been handled by multiple agents and lab techs prior to the rubber gloves requirement regarding such evidence. Someone else add to this list. What happened to the chain of custody of evidence? As for the registration card - ALL I have is the night clerks. word. What I do have is that the FBI interviewed those hotels. AND one last time I will state that 1971 was not a yr of technology...you put a tired agent on the street and he has to make his report at the end of the day. The agent checks out the names on that card - but they don't go anywhere - obviously they returned the card to the hotel or destroyed it...but if a name didn't check out then why bother with printing it. I am trying to use the mentality of the FBI in 1971 and what would the average investigator have done, under such a massive search. John Collins was a very common name and without computers to check it out - it was not done. If it had a Auto tag number and home phone and address with it - those probably went no where - because they were fake. Maybe the registeration card was entered into evidence because it had the signature of a man on it whose identity did not check out, but then maybe it was not considered to be important at that time. There are too many maybe's in this. Maybe the FBI didn't keep the cigarette butts either. Maybe they never existed. Then all we have is the stewardess's word that Cooper smoked. Because Ckret cannot find the registration or the interview with the clerk does not mean it didn't happen. Considering the fact that the hotels were paid a visit supports the fact that it could have happened. You see the jest of all of this - boring and never ending. I have been working on finding certain people and/or relatives of these people - Hence why I changed the Avatar - and keep posting these pictures of the Snowline and Snowcrew. I am going to WA with lots of pics and there is a place I am going donw in Origon and also back to that darn creek. No it has not been trashed, but we often get quiet time due what is going on with in our country. Right now most of us have the elections on our minds and trying to make some decisions. I think I wll just write my dogs name in just for the hell of it. At least it said I voted and that I don't agree. Obama will stutter us into oblivion and Palin should have had the sense to say no - this is not her time. What we have there is no better than 2 high school students - hell some of the kid I know could answer those question better than either one of them did. Neither party is ready to run this country - What a disaster we will have.. I got a call frome the east about something I wrote in this forum - remember that many yrs ago an attornety from the north contacted me - about a suspect he had there - seem like I found his suspect in the middle of my own search and he never told me who his suspect was. I guess that means he has been folllowing his forum Now to figure out if he thing's Duane is the supsect of some one else - his suspect haled from the MASS NY area. New Avatar for Cooper - we do not know his age but we estimate 25. Besure to check it out against the CPS fire crew attached below. Remarkable look-alike, plus that particular man does not check out. In fact two of them...do not check out. Does any one have any information on Marvin Doerksen or Melvin Duerkson and the the last chap Max Miller? The only Melvin of Marvin born in the right time frame I have found is deceased and his niece says that man in the photo is not her uncle...but maybe I got the wrong family. Tjhere could be others I haven't found - expecially those still alive. I NEED YOUR HELP TO FIND THIS MAN AND OR HIS FAMILY. The Max Miller is just a curiousity since it is a common name - I have a hunch he is someone introduced to me under another name. You have contended Duane threw a paper bag (money) into the Columbia off a bridge - you were with him on a trip. Please identify the location of the bridge from the maps attached Just before I 5 goes acrass the river was a Red Lion Inn on the river. We went to the bakc of the river - I heard there is lost of construcion there now. It was park like in 1971 and you could walk way out. on the ground West of the bridge about a food ball fields lenght. The area was raised above the water. That is where he thru the package into the water. It was floating down the river by the time I got out to there (I made a necessary trip before going out for R&R before we left.) Was a brown paper bag - medium weight bout 6 to 8 inches long and maybe 12 inched deep - the top was rolled over and it had a band around it. I expected to get some real feed back from that post and the pics compared to the snowline and firecrew pics, (not Snowmman or Georger's off-handed flippant remarks). I am taking the lack of response to mean "Good God - She's really flipped out now". Any assistance I can get in finding these men (rather their relatives) I will appreciate. It seems I am the only one who sees anything with this and you are tying to be kind by NOT saying anything at all. That's OK, I understand and I am sorry - I am looking for answers where there are NONE. This is where my search ends and the myth continues - there is no ending - like the song he always sang. That statement was true in the 70's but if they didn't make or keep the records for future referrence it was in vain. =================== Obviously they had to have talked to the clerks and registrations where taken. Why didn't they make copies of ALL the hotel registrations. Well, we didn't have copy machines all over in 1971. =================== Tired over worked agents -no computers or cell phones. They made notes and did reports at the end of the day. Because it has not been found does not mean it didn't exist...or we could say because the cigarrette butts have not been found they didn't exist. ======================== There was no register in evidence. Note the cigarette butts are not in evidence either. The clerk only said that it was taken. Taken and returned was a statement made by Agent Hope. ======================== Same back at you CKRET and by the way I decide to reveal what I called you about the other day - maybe the efforts of the forum collectively can actually do more in locating this man - what the forum does not have access to are the government payroll and the SS records. Such as - was more than one location being reported as income for that name and SS number that the FBI should have access to. The identity theft of the 40's - young men using ID's too get into the war efforts or to escape the war efforts. It might be interesting to know where this man's records take him up until 1949. Some kind of record has to exist...someplace or maybe the forum or the FBI will get lucky and find the guy alive - very unlikely. That Max Miller in the photo - I can find no record of him, but that is a common name. Hopefully the FBI can come up with more. I have a reason for this. It's all in way the name sounds to me. This is something I know the intelligent people in this forum and with some of them living in these areas - there might be some access to old records. Be interesting to talk to the relatives of Leo Harder or Melvin Flickenger. Now just to find the relatives and any old photos or records of any of these guys. This statement is made for information purposes in the event anyone knows the man in the photo or has a better photo. Duane had a tattoo that had the name "Dusty" in it. I see a shadow on the upperleft arm in the place that Duane had a tattoo. I have never said I saw a tattoo in the photo. I mentioned the shadow to CKRET and another who is not currently posting here. IMonday Morning here and I just want to make sure the forum sees and read this post - since there are those who make sure some my important post are quicKly covered up with banter. For the past few wks I believe my mind is playing tricks on me. I want the opinion of the forum - no third degrees, but your opinion of what you see regarding the below. These two photos have been posted before, but I want everyone to view them and think about them and then compare them to 2 photos on a site called Civilian Public Sevice (originally posted by Snowmman). Another name is given for the man in question - in fact two different names in that site. I had a problem with the pictures when I viewed them - because I had seen those pictures before Note the man's upper left arm. Note the Howdy Doody smile. Note the Snow Line - man with hand on hip. When Snowmman kiddingly noted the resemblance it was not the first time - I had seen the site nor the first time I had seen those photos. My memory says they were at one time in a book or publication, but the site makes no mention of that. Does anyone know if they were ever in a book and what yr that book may have been published? The first time I saw the pictures was in the early 80's. I originally pulled up something with these pictures in late 97 or 98 at the office -(I didn't have a computer at home). At that time I had a memory of having seen the photo before - seems I was more interested in the truck the very first time I saw one of the photos. Duane had a tattoo that had the name "Dusty" in it. I have found what I believe to be the correct ID on the man in the photo, but the responses I have received state that is not their Uncle or Father. Or my Uncle was never in a CPS camp. The only records I have been able to access are on deceased individuals - and thru ancestory.com. Since the FBI doesn't have the time to check this out - does anyone have a clue where else to go. Galen Cook, Geoffry Gray and those without names such a DBCoopercatcher - have tried to get me to give them information about Tina. People who just want to be part of the story or want to write a book or tell me about their relative. Some want me to sign my life away with contracts - giving them the rights to the story and my research materials. A couple of the suspects provided by some of these contacts sounded pretty good. One was the father of a man who lived in the N.W. I was unable to trace the father, but I tried to answer their questions. Another was a man who claimed to have been in jail with Duane prior to the jump. This was a County jail in Oregon. I researched and talked with the authorities in that area with no results. I also shared this with the FBI but no response. I found flaws in his story - and nothing checked out. I still know how to reach him, but I did all I could with what he gave me. The obvious age part of that story was not right somehow...I find later this man is a writer of sorts, I have recieved a contact with an attorney in the EAST who had found me and wanted some information - he had a client who had family reasons to know more. I NEVER found out what that was about. I provided the information and he sent me a nice thank you and encouraged me to contiue my search. I do not mean to sound badly, but my heart and soul is in this. I do not understand why certain posters take a post and tear into it - like interogators trying to confuse a witness (badger them until they say something they can use). I ask no special treatments other than to be treated with respect and understanding. Would you want everything you say taken out of context and pulled apart? Questions and answers are find as long when they are not repeated over and over and without taking into context what that persons relation is to the information., They tear me down but do not tear down CKRET when he makes mistakes or says something out of context. This is what I do not understand. He is FBI - therefore nothing he says is questionable. Look at this last post. I do not understand what he is saying. He is admitting he has not found the interview, but what happened to all of those interview files - did they just destroy them? Did the interviewing agents make decisions about what to keep and what was relevant? As for the registration - you can pretty much bet they would have collected or got copies of all of the registrations in the area. Certainly would have been a wise thing to do - then when a certain name comes up - bingo you got a lead. His wording was not clear to me even though he says go back and read every word. This is what I mean - they don't question anything he says but they tear me apart. GUYS, Pick on someone besides me and I won't have to post so much repetition and garbage. Note that most of my posts end up being defense posts because of the interogation attitude with a couple of posters. I have tried not to post because it upsets me - but if they are coming at me and trying to destroy anything and everything I have done and said from day one - that is wrong. Remember this when you post _ All of you know who I am - I only know who CKRET is. That mean that most of you have an unfair advantage. PS: I do know who some of the posters are and other places they posted using different names...this is in reference to non-jumpers. The jumpers as a group have been nice to me - they disagree without trying to engage me in defending myself. I do appreciate the opportunity DZ gave me to investigate this subject with the jumpers and pilots..those holding information only available to the likes of me thru this forum. It has been very informative. Some like Orange, Itdiver, Happythoughs, 377, Guru, Warload, Zingstrom, Sluggo and Safe Crack (so many I can't name all of you). I am not a writer - all I was doing was taking what the Clerk told me regarding "John Collins" signing the card. To me that means that Duane L. Webers prints are on the card. I am NOT writer - all I was trying to do was get out to the public what I did know and to get the FBI to research this aspect. When I am posting it is with my heart and soul and what I am thinking at that time. There is and never was intentional misleading statements made. I am a human being with human emotions.

You guys don't mind interrogating me about what I say, but I don't see you taking issues with CKRET when he makes erroneous statement or statements that show errors had to have been made by him and others. If Ckret told you to go Jump off a cliff - would you do it? ==================== Who am I suppose to go to? If they are listening why didn't they at least call me and acknowledge what I said - instead I heard NOTHING until Ckret called me about the tie - 2 days before going public. ====================== It is not dysfunction to question things stated by the FBI when there are obvious conflicts in the answers...go back and read what the FBI has said about those things. Such as - how the tie ended up in WA. if it was retrieved at the same time as the butts in Reno? ======================= You nor anyone never heard this story from anyone but me or my telling it to the FBI or on-line. To my knowledge this was not made public until 2000 when a news reporter put me in touch with the night clerk. ======================== Now you really sound like a writer trying to get his hooks into a story and take credit for something he has written or published!

I am not good at making myself understood this way. Please don't make me have to repeat it and repeat it. He signed in as John Collins and the comment about Tom Collins was made after the guy asked about the attached bar. Do you understand now? This is why the clerk remembered the name of the man who was there the night before he made the jump on Thanksgiving Eve. The FBI took the registration with them after they talked to this clerk . In those days it was a page with many names on it. You were assigned a room number and given a key. I can't tell you things I do not know and I am not a writer. All I can do is tell you over and over again and again what I do know and what I was told. If you want me to dress the truth I can't do that - then it wouldn't be the truth would it?
