Isn't that what everyone has been waiting for? New voices and new information - that is why we are all here. I have said time and again if someone can prove Duane was not Cooper - I welcome it, but so far they haven't done that. I do know what I held in my hands - the ticket, the stub and bag. I can repeat what he told me till I am blue in the face - and it would not change one iota. If these individual are saying "not one truth" has been uttered in the whole Cooper case - I guess that means the FBI also. Bet I know where that story is coming from. There are individuals claiming the incident was planned by the FAA using a subversive and that several men on the plane where infact part of the plan. The idea is that the subversive was trained by a member of the crew - and the suppliers in order to bring about changes to prevent more hijackings. If this was true - who was the jumper? There are so many twists and turns in this it is ridculous. As for giving Jo Weber credence - all I want is someone to explain what I hald in my onw hands and why one man spent 17 yrs planning a deathbed confession. I ddn't emphatically state anything - just reminding Georger that there were different times and ways the money got into the river. Duane was watching the bag float down the river - I couldn't see it and I did look in the trash barrel at the hotel when we left - the bag wasn't in it. I just couldn't believe he would litter like that and I was scolding him. I have admitted I didn't know what was the in the bag. All I was doing was doing what everyone else does - search for how and when the money got in the river. Yes, my suggestions are targeted at Duane and my time with him in OR and WA. As a friend of Duane's said to me recently "We may never know the truth, but then we know". He feels there is an important part of the puzzle missing and/or part of Duane's life. My focus at this point is not proving Duane was Cooper - because in my heart I know...if he wasn't Cooper he sure as hell knew who was. Much of the story about Duane could be a series of co-incidences, but what I held in my hands and saw with my own eye was very real - the ticket, the stub and the bag. I also find it difficult to believe that a man could spend 17 yrs staging a death bed confession, but then that is my opinion and the opinion of others who knew Duane personally. Cooper is not my focus right now - uncovering Duane's past is now a pass time and to finalize the last few things. The books, the little girl pic, the SLC pic and the Huran pic and an AKA he lived under. When that is done - I will have done all I can do - the rest will take care of itself, but perhaps not in my life time. Lets play in the sand box for a couple of paragraphs. As a child did you ever notice how things move as you disturb the sand? When you start to dig - some fragments of other materials seem to fall into the ditch or hole you are digging. For instance - glitter. Pour some glitter in the sand box and dig. What happens to the fragments of the glitter? They fall into the hole or the ditch as you dig.. I might not be making a good example of what I am trying to say in my elementary way. Did any of you see (in a clip or pictures) the size of that equipment and the number of people and activitiy going on at the dig site? Take a back hoe and dig a trench - things from the surface dirt fall into the ditch or hole. That is my stupid 2 cents worth. Take some old crumbling bills and bury them and then try to dig them up after the sun and water have baked them for a few weeks. I have watched this action over and over even as an adult building sand castles and playing with the tide as it eroded my work of art. Palmer probably took this into consideration as he was present at the dig, No one thought to make a note of something so simple - nor that the findings would be debated 29 yrs later. The explanation is possibly in the the dig its' self. Perhaps he didn't mention the finding of the fragments as he considered it elementary and a process of contamination involving the digging. Remember these guys are using shovels and ditch diggers - not the modern equipment that is available to day in such a dig site. I did not put stock in that stain being a money impression, but it was the right size and what would be the odds there would have been a bill stuck to an old book. I need to resolve 2 things I have spoke about before and then I have to leave it in the hands of others. I have searched and searched - for 13 yrs a got NO where with these two photos. 1. The MOST IMPORTANT: The picture of the blue eyed diabetic in Denver Colorado or one of its suburbs. The yr I met him was 1978 and he was working for a company called American Income. The manager of the company in that area - claimed he didn't remember him (this was yrs ago and that he had no records back that far). I know this man was still with American Income in 1980, but he had transferred to another area. The picture I am posting again. Ed Huran, Horan, Hurand, Horand. Do not know whatthe Ed stood for . This man's history will put Duane in WA and in association with chutes. The only person I met from Duane's past that talked about WA and Duane and himself in the same breath. If I can trace Ed Huran's past I will know what the WA connection was. He mentioned repairing planes or helicopters in the 40's and this was in OR, WA, ID. He knew Duane from that - they had known each other from way back. Duane treated him like a bother or father. When the man didn't want me to take picture of him - Duane spoke to him and assuring him it was for our use only. He then posed for this one picture. This was a company function and I cannot remember where it was held...AL MS AK - I believe it was in one of those places. I have other pictures I took of other individuals who worked for the company, but I can't post those. Please Help. 2. The Impossible The other is the mysterious Salt Lake City Photo. No name, but he worked in a building to the South of the Assembly Hall - Business Adm and visitors centre (demolished in 1980) and his name was on the roster in 1979. I have tried and tried to get access to the SLC - roster - but the church and the historians are young and do not understand what I am asking for. I have been told they wouldn't give me the names on the roster if they had them. Please Help. These are the 2 pieces of information - that will help me to put this down. I will pay someone to help me get this information. I had no luck with a PI I hired. I didn't want to tell the PI why I needed this information. Each and every page I viewed had those initials on them but the notes were supposedly written by Florence as I understood it. No one on the plane had those iniitials so those are insignificant. I am looking for any of the note written by Florence...I thought most of the demands about knapsack and etc where written by her. I need the notes she took and not something another person of the ground was writing or transcribing. I found the FIOA pages confusing in this respect. I need to rule out the handwriting as not being Tina's or Florence's and I am not looking for any notes accept those written by one of those 2. Why I asked for help because the information you stated is what I was looking at - it was CONFUSING. There are other notes that do have the common elements, but - a neatly printed letter compared to a scribbled terrified scrawl is almost impossible. I do not know who the books belonged to or who the handwriting belongs to. I was told a journalist or media person mentioned something about one of the relatives of one of the passengers coming forth about some books, but could never get verification of such a statement. The source was in the media, but I can't tie it down nor could others. I do not have a twenty from the 60's but I was looking at the brighter areas matching the light areas of new 20's. Your opinion which is far more reliable than my untrained eye. I saw no impressions that resembled a bill other than the size of the stain and the white areas. No specif impressions showed up in the large file which I put at full magnification and screen size.

I am only here to post a pic. This pic is an enlarged copy of a penciled note. I would like for you and others to be as unbiased and as open-minded as possible. This note is carefully hand printed. Compare the carefully printed note to the scribbled written notes done under duress in the cockpit of the plane by Florence Shaffner in the FOIA papers. I am not asserting anything here - I am looking for honest opinions. I found it very difficult to compare a carefully printed note to the scribbled writing of a terrified stewardess. We do not have access to any handwriting done by Tina Mucklow. What I could see is a T joining an E, which might be a very common thing from the era. This is ONLY a small sample of what the book holds. The S's are similar, but how many ways does one form an S? I am going to copy the back of the book enlarging the stained area as much as I can. If Cooper survived - he would have hid the chute and maybe have tried and succeeded in retriving it at a later date when he found where he buried the chute was not in an area being searched. I did not say Duane was an alcoholic! I never said they met or knew each other - only that Duane felt quilt over McCoy - because of the copycat act and his subsequent death. I don't know what you are looking for with that question - I was a hard worker and a good money manager. Duane was a hard worker but he could play as hard as he worked...but NEVER mixed the two. Absolutely not. We owned a home with a small manageable mortgage - He had life insurance and I was working as a life insurance agent until one month before he died. Not rich but not holding a bag. Think about the change he made in his life - WHY did he make that change? He jumped out of plane and survived, but the copycat gets caught and killed in a shoot-out. Whatever Duane was he was not without a conscience. I am going to tell you a little story told to me by one the individuals in his criminal life. When he would rob a family staying at a resort - he took all the jewelry and most of the cash, but he alway left some cash when children where involved. A crook with a heart for kids! Was this just the other party trying to make things sound better or was it true? I don't know. I think that statement is true. My opinion is that Duane's act was an act of desparation. The only thing he did better than McCoy was not get caught - (dumb luck and he knew it). In theory - After McCoy's death he felt to blame for the death of another person - perhaps in his mind he was responsible. Maybe he felt threatened - over the death of McCoy - he could even have thought that the FBI just killed McCoy rather than capture him...why Duane went to such extents to re-invent himself so he didn't end up on a slab in a morgue. Nothing about Duane's life fits together - From the time I knew him until his death and the life he led prior to 1978 along with his childhood. This was a man of multiple personalities during the various stages of his life - he was chameleon like - blending in with the background except when he was singing.,,then he stood out. This was a manaqer's meeting for Family Life Insurance, a Subsidiary of Merrill Lynch whose home office was in Seattle in 1979. The company is no longer a subsidiary and I do not know if it still exists. I have the pictures we took in SLC on our way to WA and then the pictures made at the hotel before the banquet. We stayed at a place called the Men's Club (I believe was the name of it). At the Eye of the Needle he bought me a Black Hills gold ring. ..at a small Kiosk that was in the dining room at that time. There was no reason to keep the travel reiimbusement or advancement more than 7 yrs afterwards. I might have something that has some of the other managers names on it - but unless they qualified they would not have been at that meeting. Search all you want but I am 100% sure I did not say anything about putting a message on the bag. We did keep a few things like rubber bands, clip and envelopes in the car because of our business. All I knew for certain was the bag was folded over - since I did not see him throw it into the Columbia I did not see if he closed off the bag in some way with a rubber band or clip (they were in the car). When we were doing the float time theory - I may have asked or suggested if the bag had been closed off it would have increased the float time. My common sense says that since he was watching it float down the river he must have closed if off with a rubber band or clip. He was doing a LOT of swimming - and you could see this in the pictures. Duane even mentioned McCoy to me - pointing out shortly after we moved to Virgina Beach where McCoy was shot. It was during those days he mentioned feeling responsible for the death of another person because of something he did. This is way before I had any knowledge regarding Duane's background. He never explained that statement. Since it was said to me I can believe he shared his feelings with his insuance buddy - they traveled together and worked together off and on. This time period would have been right. Duane's interest in McCoy was the burden of quilt. Duane felt responsible for McCoy's death because he set the example. Perhaps this might explain Duane changing his life so drastically. Alcohol and Guilt make poor roommates! I have told the McCoy story in Unsolved Mysteries and maybe in 101. I was unaware that Duane had ever said anything about this to anyone else. I have not been able to reach his friend because he is traveling right now. We will talk when he returns home. What I had is call a "warning" thing - I forgot the name of it. I had numbness in my face and arm along with pain behind my eye and a ringing in my ear - I thought it was associated with my nerves or a serotoin rush that causes my heart to race. Due to a complication with my celiacs disease I throw excessive cortisol when I get upset resulting in a serotin rush which makes my heart beat very fast...similar to a panic attack except mine has a physical cause. This has basically been undercontrol because it can lead to damage in the heart valves...which was checked out about 3 months ago with a Heart CT and function test. Therefore I ignored it until I noticed my left eye drooping. I was so mad at Jerry the other night that I just spouted off... stroke, but they had another name for it. I have an appointment with a neurologist next wk. to make sure it is not something else. Thanks for the concern.. TO ALL: By the way I believe I have stated before that I always had to call Jerry at his request because he didn't always have a phone. I am sorry Mr. Thomas - but send me the phone number of this best friend you claim to have spoken to and I assure you he will come forward with a written statement refuting that claim - in the form of a written letter which I wll scan. Duane only had 2 friends in Atlanta...let me know which one you are taking about. Mr. C or Mr. P. One individual 'disappeared" . Duane NEVER spoke to either of them about McCoy or Cooper. Both men knew me and Duane as a couple and know that Duane was physically able to have accomplished this in 1971. Tonight I spoke with an old classmate I have kept up with over the yrs - reunions and in-between. He has known me since before kindergarten. When I told him what had been going on in the forums the last few yrs and point blank asked him if he thought I was making all of this up and if he thought I was "crazy". His response was that anyone who knew how we were raised in small town USA would never accuse me of lying or creating a tale. Then he said "You aren't that smart". All of you have heard the story about what my father told me when I was in the second grade. "Don't you lie to me Josephine, it takes a genius to lie and you are not a genius". This is how we were raised in small town USA. As for crazy - well, I was voted "most likely to get lost in a crowd". There is no way in God's name I could have made all this stuff up - nor am I delusional. We talked about memories - that others have said there was NO way I could have the recall I claim, but he also disagrees with that - as he and I both remember the details of our lives from a very young age and down thru the yrs. We have not lived complicated lives like the young people of today - our lives were more focused on everyday things and not phones, movies, technology, TV (most of us where 12 yrs old before we saw a TV). Our lives were simple and these principles followed us thru the yrs and into our marriages and thru out our lives. I have told you guys before - you have to know me to know I could not be making this crap up and what a large bitter pill I had to swallow by going public in 2000. I had to publically acknowledge that I was married to a man for 17 yrs who had spent that many yrs in 6 prisons. I had to acknowledge how naive I was about life and reveal the very deepest core of my being. Not one of you can understand what it t has taken for me continue to pursue the truth or discovery of what and why Duane told me what he did. I do it because that is how I was raised - no wrong should go unpunished. I would like to believe that Duane was pulling a fast one on me and that he was not Dan Cooper - but I know what I held in my hands and saw and heard with my own eyes....if he wasn't Dan Cooper he definitely knew who was. For decades the individuals who profited with the story and those genuinely caught-up in finding Cooper made him a Legend. If the Cooper story had an ending and a resolution those individuals would never accept it even with conclusive proof. A legend 38 yrs in the making - this unsolved mystery has become a entertaining commodity rather than the terrifying and life changing experience it was for all involved, including Cooper himself. What did I say? I said my research is MASSIVE and that each piece would need to be read before scanning - so as not to give out personal information. This would not be to protect my privacy (I nave none), but there are other individuals to be considered. My life may be an open book, but I will not infringe on the privacy of those who have helped me thru the yrs. Like the FIOA somethings would have to be blacked out - This means handling and reading 10,000 plus items. That was not a NO, but an explanation of how unfeasible the idea is...your are also talking about my revealing information to perfect strangers.
