WOW - Robert99 made a joke! Conspiracy? Not hardly! Not Jo! I have said Duane Weber was involved in some "stuff" over the yrs. But, I do not believe the Cooper incident was a Conspiracy! I admit I DO believe Weber was involved in some SHIT from 1962 until 1968 and then on again and off again until 1983. A LOT of strange things happened - things that indicated Duane was involved in stuff and it was not just his being a thief or having a criminal background he was hiding from me. Start with the Red Hen or Red Rooster. My mind no longer can keep track of these things, but that was the 1st caution light! I wish I could remember if that was before or after we went to WA in 1979. I remember it was a Sunday and the hotel. I did not need a jacket. It was off season because the area had no traffic. There was just the hotel and bar -no town. The owner and the bartender and the bodyguard. Owner was heavy set and with this unusual ring - horseshoe and very large. Dark hair. The body Guard was TALL - maybe 6'4" and he had light hair. About my age at the time - early 40's. The owner took Duane & I up to one of the rooms - a room a movie star stayed in. Duane complimented him on the renovations done. Duane used to either stay there or work there per the conversation. Talked about using the original furnishing. After we go back to the restuarant / bar - I am told to sit at the bar and served a drink. Duane and the 2 guys are in the corner. Suddenly the conversation heats up. Duane is coming toward me and tells me to STAY IN FRONT of him. I asked him what was wrong and what he said I have never repeated...to a soul and will not. When we get to the car he remains infront of me until I am in the car and then he quickly goes to the drivers side and we leave. He was shaken up and it was obvious. He never told me what this was about - the explanation he gave me did NOT fit the circumstances and I never did ask again. Now tell me again Duane was not involved in some kind of racket! Yrs ago I told this story and I know I left a part of it out tonight, but at my age I guess it is OK to forget somethings. Seems like it was about something the man said. Two story Brick with a front door on the corner...at that time it was a hotel. Now I think it is a restaurant and other shops. Was a hole in the wall kind of place, but probably has built up now. What I have said for YRS! Glad others have seen and pointed out some of the discrepancies I have hear, read and been told about for 17 yrs. I have correspondense and emails from Cossey and others, but 17 yrs of research is a LOT. So I try to keep it all in my head - and this 73 yr brain is NOT what it used to be. Until 7 yrs ago -I made HARD Copies of everything, but that needs to be dug out of storage and gone thru - keeping only things that came from others and not things I wrote. Whew - Would Blevins and Georger start acting like adults instead of children. There is so much false information on this thread it is now useless as a useful tool to solving the case. After 42 yrs Cooper is buried within the muck created by the FBI and all of those who had reason to conceal his identity. If the FBI wants a hugh covert story told out here - just keep on covering up the blunders made by the FBI. Individuals have contacted me over the yrs - what they are interested in is CIA, Hughes, Meier, Mafia, collusion, Watergate and covert actions. A wealthy individual banning together a group of ex-cons to protect and do no harm. I have maintained for all of these yrs I wanted only the truth. I walked away from somethings I could have done (book & movie)in those first few yrs before and after going public, but I wanted the truth and not something made up. Weber faded into the background and other suspects have come and gone. Only one suspect had all of the elements involved, but the FBI claimed he was not Cooper and yet ignored all of the facts and stories that existed regarding the subject. The fbi ignored the criminal history and the back grounds of Weber and his associates. WHY? As it stands right now - the FBI ignoring the records has their hands a little soiled. They have been given the outs - to dismiss them as simple mistakes or changing of the guard too often. Has anyone notice that every once in-a-while some individuals come to this thread who are sincere in their quest and then leave because of all the childish activities, book writers, twisting of evidence of facts. This thread actually was responsible for the disruption of Weber's criminal file. In other words there are 3 points on the FBI file of Weber that have been proven to be false. Well, I don't have a script writer. I do follow up any leads I get. I do know the places Duane took me, places he showed me, places he talked about. Add to that what he told me 11 days before he died and the things I have in my possession, his 3rd party stories which this thread was responsible for revealing. Until you guys posted the Treasure Isle arrest - I did NOT realize he had told me about his life in 3rd party. This was when all of this started to make some sense. Until then I was as lost as the rest of you! None of us may ever know the REAL truth, but I know who Cooper was...and I know who Weber was. The exact route or how Cooper escaped may never be known unless he left behind a marker. Duane Weber spent a lot of time in WA. Time the FBI is aware of. WAS Weber actually smart enough to cover his own tracks in WA? Why did the FBI ignore the Spokane arrest? If the FBI had revealed that in 1996 when I first spoke to them and the next agent had not ignored what was infront of him - this case would have been solved, but now there are others who only want to bury the foot prints. Just rooted around in the old wallet wonder what I missed. Did I tell you before it was made of Genuine Ostrich. It is so rotten it falls apart. The stuff that was in the wallet has been shuffle through for yrs now. I did note that it was evident old cards - their numbers are imbedded in the linings of the pockets. The wallet appears to have been WET at one time. His father's obituary was in that old wallet with the John Collins ID and other things. Claudian J. Weber Age 68 400 Valquero Road Acadia, Ca. The funeral was at the Turner, Stevens & turner Mortuary, Alhambra, CA. Buried at Rose Hills Memorial PK. His brother was in Azusa and his sister was in Temple City. What I saw was not as yellow looking at that one. In fact had grey flecks in it and was more whitish/greyish. My memory says the writing was larger, but I only unfolded it just a little and quickly put it back in the console. He immediately wanted to know if I was snooping. This was during the period he lived in the travel trailer at the shop till he could get his bearings. The same time period a plane ticket was charged one way to my credit card. During the same time his friend would after he died told me about walking into the shop and Duane was counting money. The friend insisted it was $100 bills and about 50K. He just thought Duane kept cash in a safe the way he did. This friend was the one who had gone to Tallahasse with him the wkend he disappeared for 2 days leaving the friend to manage the site. The shop was broke into during that time frame - 2 times! After one incident Duane walked to the work room and looked behind the door. "Oh damn they got it" I had NO idea what he was talking about and he didn't tell me - evidently the thief was only after that one thing as nothing else in the shop had been touched. The AC in the window had been torn out to gain access. They had to have had 2 individuals or a ladder to reach that window from the ground, The shop had been broke into before that about a wk or two before. Duane did NOT report the break-ins. Portions of PINK Canopy torn. So why have we not heard this before. Did Cooper tear up the canopy? If so - we can guess for what purpose? Perhaps he just meant cutting ropes off of it. Something Paperlegs was known to mention....can't remember why I thought about Paperlegs when I read that paragraph. Where did that article come from? What Newpaper and who was the reporter? We know he cut rope off the chute. Is this what they reporter is mistakenly reporting? Torn Canopy or cut ropes? I suppose it means the same to a non jumper. Glad to see everyone back on target. He only told about the Jefferson time, because he had to give me and the phycologist some kind of explanation for his actions when he obtained the drivers license in 1990 under the name of John Collins. The FBI did NOT even note the license was real and the fact it was a re-issue of a lost license issue the day before they picked him up for attempting to do the same thing in another County. The FBI missed this! Why - but, it was significant! He needed that license to get into a safe deposit box under the John Collins name in another state. What he did with all of the contents - I do not know, but that is the same time frame pictures of this parents other little things - an ivory belt buckle and button from a baby boys baptismal suit. The canvas Satchel trimmed in leather that used to have a strap on it. The same time the money bag showed up - it was pristine and not soiled. I actually opened the bag and he told me it was just an old bank bag. I remember that day. No one can take my memories from me except the creator! No one! I didn't know the bag was from a Seattle hijacking. It was just a WA bank Bag. This was 5 yrs before he died and right after he started dialysis in 1990. I didn't know what all of that stuff meant. I didn't know what I was supposed to find in the van. It was trash to me - and I really don't remember what all we got rid of. I just know I did NOT see that wallet - not until the day 2wks later when the new owner returned it to me. You guys do REALIZE the new owner did NOT know until 2 months ago (Feb of 2013) that the ransom was paided in $20 bills. My take is Hayden owned the chutes and Cossey probably repacked them for certification purposes. Hayden NOT being a jumper did NOT need to know what was in them only that they were repacked during the time quota and per requirements. Puzzled as to the location of the chutes when they were delivered. REALLY NOT an important issure. My expectations are they were still with Cossey and why EVERYONE thought Cossey owned the chutes. He merrily provided the chutes - they didn't have to be his! In a moment of crisis - what belongs to who and who provides what is just NOT important. The chutes needed to GET to that plane ASAP! There was a man on-board who supposedly had a bomb and he was getting edgy! Cossey provided something he did not own and that is the reason for the confusion. Use this senario! Pro Shop that makes custom woods and irons in a resort area. The man in the slow season works the front and the back - he would have a clip on for going to the front if a customer comes in. This was the case with the pro shop Duane took me to in VAIL OR ASPEN. I, to this day cannot remember which one. The man was alone on that day and there were few cars on the street. It was off season and the area was DEAD! High scale areas probably required ndividuals in 1979 working the front to wear a tie - even in a sports shop. Just asking and nothing more. Have lots of problems right here at home - managing my day to day health problems. Medical tests and more Dr. Appts, plus the Fires the neighbor built 3 times just a little more than 20 ft from my bedroom and porch. The screen porch is under the roof and with a slider on the back house side opening into the living room. It was open one night and I was asleep on the couch! As far as I can determine, we do not know who offered these descriptions. BRUCE: I know for a fact you write to reflect YOUR OWN opinions regardles of who U hurt in the PROCESS. NEED I remind everyone what he did to Tina, her sister and her brother-in-law! How many TIMES has Bruce used anything and anyone for sensationalism. He MAKES mistakes in judgement and many inaccuracies - and declares himself an authority. I have been his victim as have others. He goes off on the ENQUIRER angle and outside of this he could be a good reporter....but, YOU do not get to the top or the middle by stepping on people and promoting your opinion....nor by twisting things to suit and to meet your own needs. Stomping will only get you heard. Being believed and having scruples is MORE important. Being asked back is also important. The stomper ends up being on the OUTSIDE when the real thing is presented.
