Just a heads up, the Mindwarp http://www.dropzone.com/gear/Detailed/116.html helmet has changed designs and the current info no longer applies. http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/2002/standard.htm#mindwarp

I can't wait, hell I have already been waiting for the past 4 1/2 months! Anyhow, check this post to see how much some spent (I forgot how much I spent which I guess is a good thing) http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=193985

Would that be the "first" time he has dropped a load 3 miles off?

If all else fails reboot the browser, if that don't work reboot your computer.

EDIT: oops, seems I was not the only one looking this up

I have the version that came out before this latest one. I like it much better than the new style, although I can not give you an opinion in terms of comfort differences, I just don't like the styling of the new Mindwarps.

My first still air jump from a chopper I had the gut sink feeling. To boot was about 4 seconds of no body control....it was crazy. I can still remember the feeling of stepping off the strut and that all to common "wind" was non-existant. The other half dozen still air exits I knew what to expect with no airspeed at first but still had the sinking feeling. Like others have said the balloon has to be the best. Quiet and peaceful, and it was freaky climbing up on the edge of the basket both times. And hearing yourself accelerate up to the normal roar of the wind when you let go is sweet! Can't wait till Rantoul again...

Locking up would be it. Have to remove and re-insert the battery to get it to work again. Has done it like 5 times in the past month. The firmware is supposed to be the latest avail. Through Verizon FYI. Signal is great, hardly ever have to raise the antenna. From what I hear it is a known issue but you should have seen all the marketing on TV for this phone the past 3 weeks...heh. Thanks for the feedback. Oh, Gadget freak, whats that

Here is the deal, I purchased a Motorola T720 about a month ago and was wondering if anyone else on DZ.com has one. Mine acts crazy sometimes and some seem to have a software problem. Just wondered. Thanks

Ya, I seen that on "You Gotta See This", a spinoff of "Real TV", I remember them holding the canopy up like that now.

The balloon idea is a good one but I don't think it is the case. The jumper wouldn't have fallen far enough to initiate deployment as far as you see it in the pic. First thought could be someone holding the PC while the jumper exits. I scratched this idea because it looks like there is a good amount of airspeed from the jumpers hair and clothing, which seems like it is flapping. Not sure, I would like to know the story behind it.

Selling/shipping gear internationally?
Craig replied to Craig's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have someone in Canada interested in buying a canopy from me here in the US. I was wondering if anyone has made a international transaction before and how did you go about it? I was thinking of sending it FedEx COD so we both peace of mind about the transaction. The only transactions I have made is one on Ebay (not skydiving related) and sold a dytter and helmet at my dropzone. Really I just want this to go as smoothly as possible with peace of mind for both of us. Just looking for ideas. -
And another...

You're are working off a Laptop correct? In the upper right hand corner of your keyboard, you should have a key that says "NUM LOCK" -- Press it, and try typing. On many laptops, NUM LOCK turns J, K, L , ;, U I O P into a number pad for 10-key entry.... Try it... Dude, you are so cool. I tried to reinstall the keyboard driver with no luck and was trying to get onto Microsoft's site to troubleshoot. And yes, it is a laptop. I cannot belive I have owned this thing for a year now and never had that happen before. Thanks again!

From the figures I just ran (ages above 18) for year 2000 I got 0.0015193606651433451117285083657866 to be relatively exact...

I belive this mishap with the C-141 was caused a "stupid refueler trick". Another angle attached...These things fly over my house all the time since I live near the approach to WPAFB. Can't wait till 2006 cause they will be changing over to the C-5's I understand.

Both the 707 and the DC-8 have a PAX door foreward of the cargo door. On the other hand the 707 has a window just aft of the PAX door before reaching the cargo door which does not seem to be there in the pic. In the photo you can also make out the openings on the nose like Gawain was speaking of, which the 707's don't have. TF-33/JT3D engines were used on both the 707 and DC-8's as well. Hmmm

It happened in Miami and was in fact a DC-8. It happened immediately after takeoff apparently. From what I understand bypass valves were installed on the hydraulic system to prevent this from occuring (guess it was not the first time) It was a "Tampa Cargo" livery. See a close up with the door open (not the one in the original photo) HERE
