  1. Funny. There is some funny stuff in MS Flight sim 2002 files. I found some of this when trying for the instrument checkride and kept failing for no apparent reason. I was trying to see if I could find variables and time limits for some menouvers. There is probibally lots more of this but I have yet to look for it. I am not really keen on software language but I figured out that the right hand column was just a discription of the different variables and such... sim.txt

I seem to remember there were shuttles of some sort. I don't know if they were from Chicago or not though(although I think they were). Have you thought about a cab? Both these subjects came up on the WFFC message board last year.

I agree, there are plenty of places you could pitch a tent that are not too "high traffic". I had my tent in the main camping area "read: High traffic" and had no problems getting sleep. That was with a days of jumping starting at 8 or 9 AM, partying started about 8:30 or 9 PM and I was usually ready to pass out about 2 or 3 AM. OTOH I thing all the alcohol has somthing to do with that...
  4. You have to buy the batteries at the 4 Yr. also. 4 Year = $160 USD Batteries = $75USD Cutters = $105 single $210 2 pin
  5. Was Nero with SVCD capability out before DVD burners were available to us? I noticed the VCD stuff on Nero but have not given it a try yet. I would say it is possible but check the link out below. There is some good info there but I forget what all it covers. http://www.vcdhelp.com/
  6. When going through all of this did you ever ask to speak with their "superior"? I have found that more often than not the customer service reps. have no idea of policies or anything for that matter. Try to fight it at a higher level... I am not talking about Sony here cause luckily I have never had to get a repair done, but just in general. Oh, make sure you get names and ext. numbers as well. Be persistant. It is screwed up all the money these big corperations make off us and after the sale your on your own.
  7. In the US. All that in my other post was considering the objects were above the horizon and able to be viewed.
  8. I'm pretty sure Earth would look like a bluish star, if any color at all, about half the brightness of the brightest star you can see. I have some 10x50 binoculars and you can just barely make out the rings of Saturn. Edit: Brightest star you can go outside and see NOT including the Sun
  9. The first thing that popped into my mind was she seen somthing about the CYPRES or Astra, as well as one of the FXC's ads. The former two cut the loop and the latter pulls the pin. I do not think there is a pin that will cut the closing loop (unless the pin is damaged).
  10. I have heard more than once that L&B are good people. I am sure they will do whatever they can to make you happy. Sucks to hear about the logged jumps though. They might be able to get everything out of the "non-volitile"? memory for you if you send it back (not sure what you lose if you take the batteries out). I am thinking that they can even enter missing jump info into a Protrack IIRC. Yesterday I tried to fire up JumpTrack and it wouldn't respond. I rebooted and it started up fine. I though for a minute that I might have to re-install it and all the jump info I have in there would be lost so I know what your sayin.
  11. I am almost postive that the new Mirage G4's have bags like Jav's. Meaning there is only one grommet in the freebag where the closing loop passes through. Still don't help with the G3 or Vectors though...
  12. I agree with Bill B. entirely. On the other hand why should you need to do such a thing just to get someone to check their pins. On their last resort at that! I have my contorl unit mounted in the backpad of my Mirage but that Never prevents me from opening the reserve flap after I turn on the CYPRES. Also I will untuck the lower part of the reserve flap (if you know Mirage's you know what I am saying) just to peek in and see that the reserve pin is seated on subsequent jumps that day. I guess a couple seconds to check these things every jump are too much trouble for some
  13. Wanna PM me the specifics on the rig? i may be interested in seeing it. thanks Check out the page they listed in their message...The rig looks nice but way to small for me.
  14. your a moderator now? the original question was do you belive in God. my answer was yes, and remains so. peace my brother, god's blessings to you. Never claimed to be a moderator nor have the desire to be one. In my experiences here, comments like the one I quoted seem to get things rolling in that direction (threads locked specifically).
  15. One step closer to getting this locked down And I gotta agree with Indyz, if you don't want other's comments you should have made it a PM.
  16. Well, I searched for "boobies" to see if DZ.com was in the first page or two of hits. It wasn't so I searched within the results for "clay" and it was the second hit. From there I read the post and I couldn't find and instance of "boobies". Confused, I clicked the "boobies" button on my Google Toolbar and it highlighted the word. Thing of it is was that he had used the word in white type (you can not see it) to add some space in his sig line. I just though it was kinda funny
  17. Dont know if this is funny, or downright sad... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&newwindow=1&safe=off&q=Boobies&as_q=clay&btnG=Search%A0within%A0results[url] And that's not all, go ahead and read the post and find the search terms...

  20. Yeah, that's the same thing I thought until I saw a C-17 fly directly over the peas under deploying canopies at Kapowsin. One guy opened to find himself on the level with the beast at roughly 300 yards. You could tell when the C-17 crew spotted him... Bob I once saw two F-16 have a close call with a jumper at a DZ. They were doing a hop and pop and flying back over the dropzone at about 1,500 or so. The two fighters were flying pretty tight in a slight turn towards the jumper. About that time we were like "um, this is not cool"! You could definately tell the one F-16 took evasive measures. The jumper confirmed pretty much what we were guessing on the ground that it looked to be about 100 yards separation and staring eye to eye. On a side note the jumper was trailing an American flag.
  21. As a matter of fact I used to have a Triathlon and got slammed very hard, were talkin dazed and had bloody knuckles. The "did I forget to uncollapse the slider when I repacked" did go through my head. I could never figure out what the cause was since I didn't know, even after being slammed, if I still reached up and collapsed it.
