    I agree that Beezy was an amazing person and sad that he is gone. I don't know if having his children doing tandems 15' away from each other was a good ideal though...but all is well that ends well.

    True, but I know about 500 Marines with 25-50 jumps who are very capable of setting their cypres on every jump. All they have to do is figure out the barometric pressure, plug that into the calculator, figure out the desired firing altitude, and adjust the MB reading....AND they do it every jump.....WHY? Cause they are TAUGHT how to do it and are competent freefallers.(which comes from competent coaches and Instructors who TEACH how gear works, NOT by coaches who say if it is 0 down it is good to jump) How does a dual sided RSL work? Why should you be more carefull with a FXC AAD? E.d.u.c.a.t.e

    Like "dying", which a very experience jumper in Arizona did two years ago. Or surviving a harrowing main/reserve entanglement with serious injuries, like a first jump student did this summer in Illinois. Pull 'em out, pull 'em out, pull 'em out-out-out ! Along with two other incidents in Texas in the past couple years....

    A good reminder for Spence. I was the benefit of his 1/4 back, 1/2 twist, 3/4 McTwist, Nutsack triple sow-cow he performed that year!! I still have the first place trophy on my mantle....Granted it did cost me a couple loli-pops and a snickers bar.....

    Congrats! I had two first places this weekend on my visit back to Ohio..... 1. Who made the biggest ASS of themselves at Beerfest in Wadsworth. (opponents: Natedog, Poleton, BK, Smiley, Carrotstick) 2. Who had the most shots of Jager before the noon kickoff of the OSU game...(which was tough since we stopped drinking around 3:30 that morning!)

    Hit the nail on the head there......I remember somebody a couple of years ago bragging how he did a demo into a car lot in Texas and had people diving out of his way. He was actually proud of it! I have no problem with people *earning* their pro rating on a 90....(mine is on a 107) BUT along with that comes the responsibility to know when to jump it or upsize to an appropriate canopy.

    So, what happens to someone who has a reserve deployment going out a crowded tailgate at 26,000'? Will they be OK? Will their PD 113 open OK at that altitude and airspeed? What is the difference between a sport jav and a MJ that *has* been tested at 25,000' and 450 lbs all up weight?

    What AFFI said.......But since I have met you and know the Instructors your talking about, I wouldn't be comfortable with a guy your size jumping booties since you haven't yet demostrated proper leg control or turn control in the air. (Cat C, D) There have been a few occasions when I have stuck a female in booties right off of student status but that was due to their "weight and balance". That is not to say there isn't Instructors out there that will allow you to jump with booties either....just my opinion

    So, I have been sentenced... errrr *asked* to go to Fayetteville for a week and a half. Who wants to hang for a night or two to break up the endless hotel nights? I'll arrive this Friday.
