Hmm...apparently I need to be corrupted some more. Although, I'm not so sure about 8.8%, thats pretty low.....lol.... "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Just an idea for you HH: Have you ever thought of doing a section for biographies of some of the more experience people on the board (moderators, and a few others) so some of the newbies (to both skydiving, and the forum) can have a better idea as to who and where they're getting the information from? "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Funny, I was surprised mine was so high, lol.... "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

lol...thats cool Bill. Besides learning to skydive, I didnt do anything near that productive in my freshman year of college! "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Just this morning I was wondering that very same thing....

Always (literally) wanted to fly. Always had a thing for extreme sports. Used to watch skydiving in the X-games when I was younger....Guess its a combo of those!

http://www.imtools.com/tests/purity.php Uh, I'm only 35.3% pure.....is that bad? "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Well...I suppose that just about answers the entire thread! Thanks Bill...

I can assure you that that is NOT true. I raced ever weekend from the time i was 12 to the time I was 18. I *think* you missed my point...but dont worry...so did I. But AndyMan is right, I dont think it has to do with being able to participate- and his Indy Car example was awesome. AndyMan...I dont quite understand the camera-man thing, or the fact that people dont watch skydiving cause the scoring is difficult for whuffos to comprehend. I watch football, but know very little about it. Hell, even in automobile racing there are points systems...I have no idea how they work, yet I still watch... I'm also a freakin nerd...heres my list: Parachutist Skydiving AOPA Pilot Aviation Safety Flying Air & Space Psychology Today (it was free, really) ....can you tell what my interests are? (and no, psychology is NOT one of them- it was for a college class) "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

...skydiving events are no longer televised? Another thread got me thinking on this. I know this has been covered many times before, but the more I think about it the less it makes sense. Here's my thoughts on it: I've heard people say that its because skydiving is not something your average viewer is able to participate in...but if you look at some of the other televised sports, that makes no sense. How many people do you know that can participate in freestyle motocross? Exactly...and thats on all the time. Shit, how many people who watch football religously actually participate in the sport? Uh...not many. "Its because of the commercials" someone once told me. "They can't really advertise skydiving equipment to the general viewing public." Why does it have to be skydiving equipment? Can't it be cars, soap, food, deodorant, or (best of all) beer? I thought the X-games were all about eXtreme sports? I dunno, but I think most (of the general public, at least) would consider skydiving an extreme sport. Is it because they wouldnt get a lot of viewers? Somehow I doubt that....hell, how many people actually watch fishing, or hunting on ESPN? I can't imagine very many.... I'm sure my opinion is very biased toward skydiving, but still...I always thought people thrived on drama and action and excitement. That said...maybe its better that skydiving stays out of the mainstream. What do you all think about this? "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Blue ones forever, Bob.... "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

ummmm....shit. Looks like I'm a minority. Oh well, if I absolutely HAD to pick one of the two, I would still pick skydiving...i think. Although, my weekend numbers are 2:0:0 already, and its barely sunday yet ...so maybe thats why....and maybe I should stop posting now and go to bed.... "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

I'm posting this before I've read any replies, so its not a corrupted answer: skydiving. Any day. Is that good or bad? "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Hmm...probably all three, lol. I was going to say just strength and flexibility, but then I realized, wait...I've never actually stopped to worry about what I eat (not that I need to)...and yeah, a yoga thing would be kinda cool too... "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

I think that'd be kinda cool. I would definitely take advantage of it. "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Just curious.....Does your pilot wear oxygen? "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

Last June a pilot buddy of mine was killed in a plane crash in Lake Ontario. I had just talked to him a few days before the accident. That was definitely an eye-opener for me, even though it was pilot-error (and by error, i mean huge FUCKUP that could/should have been prevented- but I digress)....Sorry to hear about your friends, Chris. Be safe. Blue skies, Marshall

Sheesh, I sure hope not many. "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

THIS IS A JOKE AND ONLY A JOKE. Please take it as such! It was written by someone on another message board (aviation-related) who was replying to a request for a real twin otter checklist. "- Wake up, try to remember when you parked the plane. Hint: you probably slept in it. - Put enough fuel in to be well over gross with your cargo, because you want to turn around 3 loads before hot-fueling. - Turn things on until the spinny things start spinning. - Make sure the skydivers are at least half way in, and that the ladder that was blown away by the prop wash didn't blow under the mains. - Push the lever thing to make the plane go real fast. - Take off DOWNWIND ONLY. - Point the fresh-air vent at your face, because the air coming from the skydivers isn't so fresh. - You forgot to turn off the "exit" light last time, again. Turn it off now. - Climb, climb, climb. - Fly towards the exit spot in a way that requires a sharp right turn shortly before the exit (because the door is on the left). - As soon as you're sure no one can find the airport, turn on the "open door" light. - Turn on the "exit" light 1/4 mile past the exit spot. Keep it on until everyone has exited 4 miles past the spot. - Dive, dive, dive. Your goal here is to make it back to the loading area before any of the jumpers land. - Land DOWNWIND if available. - Hot-fuel as necessary. - Repeat until someone gives you beer." ...I just found it rather funny, lol! "If I could be like that, I would give anything, just to live one day, in those shoes..."

WHAT?! I'm offended that you've forgotten me....lol, JUST KIDDING! No, I was referring to DeLand. Unfortunately, I never did get to meet Skymama, although I'm sure I've seen her around out there before. Not to worry though, I will be back in FL very soon- and for good this time!
