Well, in my personal opinion, that would be up to you. If you live near a wind tunnel, go for that- but I wouldnt be making any big trips just to get to one. On the other hand, if it costs the same why not just do a relaxation jump, like you talked about? They both have their plusses and minuses. If you do the wind tunnel, you get say 10 min. of solid "freefall" time, but no actual jump, and no canopy practice (which is just as important). If I was in your shoes- I'd practice my body position on the ground, for a good long time to get that muscle memory in shape, and then go have another whack at level 6 again. Well, your temp. certificate is good for 120 days (at least, thats the way pilot ones are, I'm sure its the same). I would count on at least two months...more like 3. Three has been the magic number with my pilot certificates and ratings. If you dont get it after 100 days, get on the horn and start bitching.

OK, I feel bad giving you a one-word answer. Here's my blurb of advice: I dated a girl that was an emotional roller coaster (and later train-wreck) once, and it almost brought me down with her. That would be my biggest reason for cutting away right there. You say your head is racing? Can you go to her to talk, or doesnt she seem to want to hear about it? If she doesnt, I'd cutaway. And of course, theres the important question- does she support your skydiving? If not, I'd cutaway. It may be easy to say, ah hell, just because she doesnt approve of one thing I do, doesnt mean I should end it- but think ahead...is she determined enough to get her way (you not jumping, or making you so guilty that you dont)? Or better yet- is she really worth giving up the sport you love? And, you're exactly right when you said: life is too short to wait for someone to treat you like you treat them. Yeah, maybe she just is going through a rough time- but maybe your whole relationship will be hurt by that. Its up to you man, but if you ask me, it sounds like she's not for you. Didn't mean to offend you at all by anything I said- just my advice/opinion. And Skyhawk's theory on opinions hits the nail right on the head. Yeah, I've heard that you can hit things going fast and they dont deploy, but you can bump something (ok, a little harder than bump) and they do. Scary. Yeah...same here- Its probably already been asked, but did your airbags go off? People on the road are such idiots sometimes....If I had ten bucks for evertime I've almost wadded my truck because of people doing stupid things around me, I'd be rich. And its not *always* the people who drive like its stolen...a lot of times its the a$$holes going 40 in a 55 that cause the pile-ups cause everyone tries to pass them. .......OUTTA HERE!!!!!!!!! I'm packing up my shit, and going back to FL. Gonna finish up my CFI/CFII/MEI down there and find the best flying job I can with the hours and education I have (at least for now). I figure, if I'm gonna have a dead-end job- its gonna be a dead-end flying job! I'm gonna be spending a few months at Flight Safety International, in Vero Beach (right next door to Sebastian )...and then I will be looking for a job someplace down there. Hopefully I can find a place to work as a pack-rat to pay for some jumps till I get a real job.... I dont know exactly when i'm leaving yet...could be as early as May, and as late as late June. But at least I have something to look forward to now!!! See yall in FL again soon! Blue skies, Marshall
