Yup, saw that. You'd think Germain would know better. Matt

We grammar police call them ellipsis. Officially, using them means you are omitting some information. The way people around here use them, though, there is usually not information omitted, just actual thought. (And I will confess I am guilty of overuse of those little dots, sometimes when I just can't think of a way to end things...) I must confess...I am an ellipsis junky. I think an informal medium such as this forum can tolerate technical imperfection when the goal is expressing a personal "voice" through the written word. I use the ellipsis to indicate a pause longer than a comma. Matt

Glad you enjoyed it!

What if you're all of the above? Matt

Good morning, all. I'm actually up early, ready to start another busy day of postwhoring. How's everybody doing?

Greetings, fellow night owls. While our numerous, more conventionally circadian colleagues sleep, slumber and snore, it falls to us the most noble and sacred duty of keepin' ol' Terra tickin'. The sun will rise, as will our friends, and both will find the world much as they left it eight hours before. This oft' overlooked continuity is ensured by none other than us, the custodians of the night. Solitary and pale, yes, but no vampires are we; indeed we keep such mythical terrors at bay. The day dwellers cannot guess what creeps and crawls past shuttered windows and locked doors. To them, the shadows shield fantasy's unknown threat from the warm glow of reason and courage. But no such paranoia for us, for we have been to Denny's and we have seen the truth and the truth is this: them's just some skinny skanky hos and fat greasy freaky freaks, man. Ain't no Transylvanian glamour here, just way too much eyeshadow. No real threat there, ya know? Slumber on, my sun loving sisters and brothers. Your world will be ready when you wake; the night crew's on the job. Matt

Oh, ok. That makes sense. I've never lived far enough east to have encountered those. The chipotle flavored chips looked good.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I've been puzzling this over for a few minutes, and I just don't get it. I've got a bag of Doritos. Matt

I went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, saw a protruding nasal hair, plucked it, and the damn thing is white. This is a first for me. There's just no avoiding age, is there? Matt

Yeah, I guess "stalking" isn't a perfectly accurate label for her actions, 'cause stalking usually implies there's some stealth involved. Pursuing? Hounding? Those don't sound as scandalous as stalking, though. Caught me by surprise, whatever you call it. Matt

That's great! I'm going to steal your sentence and use it from now on.

Never tried any snakemeat. Don't they have rattlesnake restaurants in Texas? Matt

Big! Probably eats lots of rats. Matt

"You're playing with fire." whuffo parent vent
MF42 replied to Sky15's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm semi-fortunate in that my parent's very much don't like it, but they've agreed not to speak against it. 'Course, I did just casually compare the hazards of skydiving to what Mom faced in her rodeo days... Matt -
Duke, a shelty/who-knows mixed breed, loved the snow. If I walked him after a snow, he looked for footprints and stopped to stuff his entire face down into the print, just his ears protruding like a pair of fuzzy periscopes. Then he threw his head back and grinned at all the flying snow clods. I loved that dog.

Oh man, I feel your pain, for I have been there. My catastrophe was actually an upstairs neighbor's washing machine that destroyed her floor, my ceiling, my furniture, and my floor. I'll send something vibe-ish your way. Matt

Uh...yeah...I've seen a photo or two that maybe I shouldn't have opened. Matt

I've always imagined a that a skin ready to molt must itch something fierce. Probably a great relief to peel that thing off. Matt

Ok then. Had me worried. Matt

Hey! Matt

Man, am I envious! I have never yet seen a circular rainbow. Seen a few that were close, but not quite a full circle.

Careful, there are stalkers 'round these parts. Matt
