I was in the kitchen making a sandwich, and a flicker of motion outside the window caught my eye. What was that? After a few seconds I saw it: an enormous firefly lit up almost as bright as one of those little LED flashlights. This guy was so bright he cast shadows. I stepped outside to get a better look. He was easy enough to find out there; none of the other fireflys could even come close to matching him. I tried to catch him, but he was too sneaky. I'd estimate he was about 1.25" long. Huge freaking firefly. Could've been of those mutant space alien fireflys, I reckon. Matt

Make the prize something other than a beer and I'd consider doing it.

Never met her, but I hope she is a nerd, 'cause hot nerd women are especially... well, hot.

I can't believe noone's asked yet. Pics? Matt

not if you got yourself one of these... http://www.maverickjets.com/new/ They've got a some catching up to do if they want to compete with the Eclipse. We had an Eclipse in the hangar not too long ago. I liked its looks. Fairly simple and clean; kind of like a half-scale Beechjet. Matt

Yes. It always comes as such a surprising revelation that the pain isn't necessary; you can and sometimes should just walk away from it. Matt

clicky Similar to the famous penguin and yeti game. Dangerous Dave rides his mountain bike off a cliff. Just before he reaches the cliff edge, you need to hit him with a baseball bat in order to launch Dave skyward. Aim for maximum horizontal distance. My best so far: 1148.9 m Matt

Ok everybody, you've got a big day tomorrow, so I want you all tucked into bed a little bit early tonight. Don't forget to set your alarms, and be sure to get a good breakfast in the morning. Sleep tight. Matt

The only times I've ever called a woman a nerd or geek, I meant it as a compliment. -
So instead of getting just generally pissed off, please educate us. What does the word "sniper" mean to you and why do you think it's being inappropriately used here? I'm not stirring shit here. I'm genuinely curious. Matt

Very cute pup! With that mix of breeds, this dog has a good chance of being extremely intelligent and energetic. She'll probably get bored easily and look for mischief even more than most other dogs. But she should also be a delight to train. Hope you're prepared to spend a lot of time with her.

I think they may not be trying to discourage you, rather they're advising some caution and moderation in order to enjoy skydiving long term. In a similar situation, my solution was to learn an aviation-related profession. No, I wasn't able to skydive while in school or immediately afterward. Yes, the delayed gratification was worth it. I know everybody's going to despise me for posting this, but oh well... Forecast high of 80 degrees, but currently 72, so I think the forecast was a little too high. Had to put another blanket on the bed last night 'cause I was getting chilly.

Oops. Thanks! Matt

Damn. And people give me grief for swimming in Lake Michigan. Matt

Everybody needs to thank the night owls. Remember that if a zombie army arises to start snacking on brains, the night crew will be Earth's first line of defense. Think about it. Matt

clicky I like the dark matter planets in the later levels. Took me 23 trys to pass hole 31. My score: 25,838,487 Matt

That's the one thing that sucks about skydiving: the money. I think I'm going to form my own nation-state on an island somewhere, and all citizens will be entitled to a certain number of skydives each month, to be paid for by government tariffs and whatnot. Who's with me? Matt

I had one of those for a while. You wouldn't believe how badly the insurance company raped me every month. Matt

I was ten and we were at an airshow. My buddy and I were checking out all the military vehicles comprising the local National Guard's static display. We both climbed into the cockpit of an armored personnel carrier. My buddy dared me to push the "start" button, so I did. The engine loudly roared to life and four soldiers instantly appeared outside the cockpit, all of them yelling what the hell and get out of there and don't touch anything and all kinds of shit like that. Kinda scary. We scrambled outside and bumped into Dad. I think that was the last time he ever spanked me in public before he decided I was getting to big for spankings to be effective anymore. I still hear about it.
