  2. 40s was good, 50s -- even better! Video tape his old friends fromHS or college (or have them send in a video) Have a few "ham" friends act out his life as you read it. I did this for my wife and it was a hoot. We had about 70+ people there. We were dying laughing. steveOrino
  3. We did our goat lab in a condemned WW2 era Womack hospital.
  4. Absolutely! I think it's great! I agree. I learned surgical procedures on goats that saved many men in Special Forces' "goat lab." Years ago, it was "dog lab." I'm glad they switched to goats. I did this (surgical lab) in 1978, and I only "assume" they still do it this way. steveOrino

  9. My Rebel has crap on the sensor and I don't have the cahonies to try and clean it myself, so I sent it to Canon. Any idea how long I will be without it? In other words -- has anyone else sent a Canon camera in to be cleaned (in the states) and if so, how long did it take? steveOrino

  13. One key would to not let there be such a gap bewteen you and the TM. I leave with tandem (no grips) and fly relative them as they dive out -- always staying clear of the drogue or the side the drogue will be deployed from) Then when the drogue is thrown, adjust. The key to ALL of this is "anticipate" don't wait until he throws the drogue to adjust, anticipate. steveOrino
  14. Thanks, I'm still waiting for mine ... Spence?
  15. Monday, new toon up. How was Dublin, Lee? steveOrino
  16. Well that goes to show you comics are personal taste. Someone like Beetle Baily (I guess) My favs in no particular order are: Bloom County -- great commentary on pop culture Far Side -- started a trend Calvin & Hobbes -- truly funny, superbly drawn in classic (POGO) style Peanuts (at least his early years 50-60s) Frumpy the Clown -- a hidden gem Duplex Liberty Meadows (I prefer his non-syndicate stuff) oh, and of course: DZ steveOrino
  17. This is America, land of the free. Each DZ probably has its own standards. It would depend on a few other factors as well. What are you filming? Your own jumps? Other experienced jumpers? Tandems? AFFs? Most tandem masters I know don't want you flying near them until you meet the suggested 500 jumps to jump with tandems. The USPA recommends 200 jumps to fly a camera in general. steveOrino
  18. I miss Calvin & Hobbes! steveOrino
  19. It is FRIDAY -- new comic is up! steveOrino
