  1. A bunch of girls at our DZ bring this up regularly. Some guys just get really whigged out over it. It's hilarious to watch. Plus I love causing trouble. Rhonda
  2. Those pictures from the plane formation yesterday are so cool! Rhonda
  3. Just wondering if anyone was planning to attend the Flyboyz Film Festival Oct 31-Nov 3. I'll be there all weekend working at the Flyboyz Fly School so stop by and say hello. Rhonda
  4. I heard it from my grandmother years ago. It's actually only beeswax candles that are supposed to do it by creating negative ions that attract the dust. Of course my grandmother didn't give me the scientific version it was just something that she learned from her mother. R
  5. I don't think it's about romance at all. It's about relaxing and letting yourself go. Not to have to think about anything stressful for a half hour or so and get completely absorbed in self-indulgence. Candles are very relaxing. I burn candles in my house everyday. Plus did you know that if you burn candles, your house will have less dust? R
  6. I think we should take a little time today to send all our positive energy and prayers (to whatever God or power you happen to believe in) not only to Shannon and her family and friends but also to all the ladies participating in JFTC. As sad as it sounds it is true that "Out of tradgedy comes triumph" I'm sure Shannon will be flying along side of the girls as they complete the record and I'm sure each and everyone of them will be flying with Shannon in their hearts. R
  7. I'm pretty sure he got the same pants. Just never wore them skydiving again. R
  8. I agree with Thanatos340 but also it has actually happened many times in the past that family members have been pointed to forums where the deceased was a regular poster. I have seen posts from family members thanking the skydiving/base jumping communtity for their prayers and thoughts. The most recent incident that comes to mind was the sister of skydiver/base jumper Rob Tompkins from Perris that died a few weeks ago base jumping in Norway. She wrote several posts on behalf of her family on one of the base boards. R
  9. Abercrombie were selling "Para=trooper" pants a few years ago with zip off legs. A friend at my DZ decided to test them out and wore them on a freefly jump. As soon as he went head down, one of the legs flew off. Of course we had it on video so he marched into Abercrombie the following Monday with the pants and the video in tow and complained saying, "You call them para-trooper pants so I wore them skydiving and look what happened." They gave him another pair no questions asked. It was pretty funny. R
  10. My niece lives in Manassas which the site of one of last weeks shootings. She had just stopped at that very gas station minutes before it happened. She stopped at the store for groceries then went home, put her groceries away and turned on the TV (timespan of maybe an hour) and saw on the news that someone had been shot in the place she had just left. Needless to say, she was thanking her lucky stars. R

  12. If you really loved your so, you wouldn't even be able to look at another man! That is so not true! I"ve been married for 12 very happy years and can't imagine loving my husband more and I/we look at others all the time. In fact I/we think it's healthy. We talk it about all the time like what we find attractive about other people yada yada yada. The important thing in any relationship is honesty with yourself and with your partner. And just for the record, I also think it's possible to love more than one person. That doesn't necessarily mean that I think it's right to want relationships with more than one person but it is possible to have feelings for more than one person. It's human nature. Rhonda
  13. Wow. I'm glad to see I'm not the only Hotter Potter fanatic around here. I've read all the books and listened to them on CD. I have been so hungry for more Harry that I am currently reading them for the third time while waiting for the release of the 5th book (May is the latest date I've heard). I was given the first book 3 years ago for my birthday and read the first two before my daughter became interested in them. We can't wait for November 15 and the release of "Chamber of Secrets" http://harrypotter.warnerbros.com/web/dailyprophet/cos_play.jsp?id=COS_Second_Trailer&media=windows&speed=56
  14. Same thing with Andy and Keri Farrington and their cousin Luke Aikens. They grew up on the DZ and by the time they were 18, had thousands of jumps. And they have competed successfully in many areas of the sport. RW, Freefly, Para-Ski, Accuracy, and swoop, not to mention all instructors, tandem masters, riggers and pilots. What a life! R
  15. Andy Farrington, Luke Aikens, TJ Landgren and Shaylan Allman "Team Xaos" took first. That's all I've heard. Rhonda
  16. My favorite is "Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him..." OK how the hell does one be interesting if they are expected to be at home in front of a stove all day? I can hear the conversaition now. "Honey, I used extra lean beef in the meatloaf this week and it's amazing the difference it makes. Do you like the pie? I used fresh Gala apples instead of canned." Yea that's interesting. But then I guess if you are a little gay (no offense to anyone), that might be interesting for him. After all, isn't that every man's dream? R
  17. The 2002 Flyboyz Film Festival is happening this year over the Halloween weekend. Oct. 31 - Nov 3. So you know that what means. The killer annual festival party is going to be a costume party. Freaks in costume. YEAH!! Oh but that's nothing new is it? In addition to the costume party, there will be great organized skydives all weekend long organized by the Flyboyz themselves. There will also be other fun contests such as a swoop and chug and blind packing race, film previews, awards ceremonies and more. The film festival is always is a blast! For more information, go to Flyboyz.com I'll be there doing registration and anything the boyz need. Hope to see you all there. Rhonda
  18. I worked for AOL a few years back. Wanna know how impressed I was with the company? I left after 9 weeks. I couldn't stand that place. You should always expect some problems with Beta releases of any software but add AOL to that and you are really screwed! Just my 2 cents. Rhonda
  19. Wow, I must have been half asleep when I typed this. That should be Perris

  21. I got a cell phone for my 10 year old daughter. It's a prepaid. Here are my reasons. I work and she walks home from school every day. They won't bus kids in our school district if they live within a mile of the school which is cool because the kids could use the excercise anyway. We live just under a mile away. She has friends and other kids to walk with all but the last 2 blocks that she has to walk by herself. The way the world is today, with all the kidnappings and shit, it gives me peace of mind to know that she can contact in an instant if she needs to while she is walking home. She knows to keep it turned off at school and in her backpack and she is not allowed to use it to call friends. Luckily, at her age, she isn't really interested in talking on the phone much anyway. Rhonda
  22. Who do you work for? My husband is a game developer for XBOX at Microsoft. I work for Microsoft too but not XBOX. I work for Windows Media. Rhonda
  23. There are something like 128 new titles coming out for XBOX. I"m trying to convince someone they need to do a flying/skydiving game. Rhonda
  24. There are also some software packages that makes web development easy and you can learn to code in the process. Homesite is one, I believe AOL has something but not sure about that and MS Frontpage. I know a lot of people don't like to use WYSIWYG programs but they are pretty nice for beginners. You can have a fully functional website in a few days. If you are just looking for a place to post pictures and cool information, MSN has customizable free communities and I believe Yahoo does as well. Here is an example of one. Sample I have no idea who Wendy is, I just happened to find this site when I did a search for skydive. Rhonda
  25. Go out and bye the largest bra you can find and stuff it with medicine bottles. You can be a "Drug Bust" Or how about getting a bunch of those little single serving cereal boxes and attach them to an overcoat with knives stuck in them and fake blood. you can be a "Cereal Killer"
