It's Friday. The sun is shining. Life is perfect!! Just thought I'd share that. Have a great weekend everyone! Rhonda
  2. I am the webmaster. I fixed it. It was one of the damned shared sites. The banner rotator. Thanks. Rhonda
  3. I'll see you there. We are going out on Friday and camping for the weekend. Hopefully, I will posting pictures on the site all weekend. Rhonda
  4. Well, Kapowsin anyway. The weather is going to be gorgeous, we have a bunch of guest coaches. Anything you could possibly ask for. RW, Freefly and Canopy flight. I'm sure there will be swooping going on. If you are anywhere near Kapowsin, come on out. It's going to amazing!!!!! Kapowsin Air Sports Rhonda
  5. You're running ME? Wow. Get rid of that right now and upgrade to XP. Rhonda
  6. Oh yea. I forgot to mention that the photos were taken at various rivers and lakes around the Seattle/Tacoma area. Rhonda
  7. Swoop Pretty cool pictures with more to come. I just thought I'd share. Kapowsin Air Sports Rhonda
  8. Use Windows Media Format instead of MP3. The file size is smaller so you can get more music in less space. Rhonda
  9. (Funny thing is, you meet some of those rec.dot people and confront them, they run and hide.) ---------------------------- Funny you should mention that. I had a situation a few years ago where a guy seriously flamed me in a thread about blind skydivers. To make a long story short he ended up calling my mother all kinds of nasty names. I never forgot the guys name and 2 summers ago I had the opportunity to meet him face to face when I was doing registration for an event at Perris. I recognized the name and his home DZ right away and told him I remembered very vividly his words. Apparently he remembered as well. He was doing all kinds of back flips because at that moment I had all the power to decide whether he got to participate in the event or not. In the end, I of course allowed him to register but not before watching him sweat for a while. That was fun!!! Rhonda
  10. "Cliques at small DZ's are tighter than at large ones. The smaller the DZ, the tighter the clique." --------------------------------------------------------- Not necessarily true. The clicks are still there at large DZ's and they are just as tight, you just don't notice them as much because of the larger number of people. I really like the idea of meeting two new people this weekend. It's what life is all about. As for "As the Prop Turns", bare in mind, this forum is far more friendly and kind than REC.SKYDIVING. I stopped posting over there years ago unless it's something I absolutely have to say. I don't think I've ever posted anything on there that I didn't get flamed for. We have a great group of people here and even though I don't post a lot here either (I don't believe in talking if I can't find something truly useful to say), I feel like I know each of you and think that in a pinch I could count on any of you even though I've only met a small handful of you in person. Rhonda
  11. Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Illusions, Bridge Across Forever, One -- Richard Bach I really want to read his Ferret Chronicle books. And I really dig Harry Potter! Can't wait for the 5th book. Rhonda
  12. Ever thought about moving to the other side of the country? I spent most of my life in the NOVA, DC area and moved to Redmond, WA 4 years. I'll never go back to that rat race. The lifestyle is so much nicer here and it really doesn't rain all the time like people are always saying. Anyway, I'm sure it would be fairly easy for someone with good experience in computer security to find a job here in the software hub of the world. I can make sure your resume gets to HR for the MS if you would like. R
  13. No kidding. We have a Flowbie at our DZ (Don't ask) and it gets used a lot in the summer. Just for giggles. What a sight that is to see. R
  14. Ah common. A girl's gotta have dreams now doesn't she? R
  15. Yea but when you shop at Wal-Mart where everything is cheaper, just think of the jump money will you save! Of course, we don't have a Wal-Mart here in Sunny Bellevue, WA so I can't really say for sure. Rhonda
  16. http://www.jumpforthecause.com Talk to you DZO or a tandem master at your dz. They may be willing to donate the tandem. Have some kind of competition and make the participants pay an entry fee and offer a trophy or some kind of prize that you could get someone to donate. A free jump or a t-shirt. Hit and Chugs are always good competitions for fund raising. A $5.00 entry fee would be plenty to make enough for a tandem and if there is beer involved, you can bet you will get some participants. Rhonda
  17. The dates have been set. October 31 - November 3. I know, I know. It's a little early but it's never too soon to start thinking about the film(s) you are going to create and submit, right? I mean it is summer. What better time to dust off the ole' video camera and be creative. (yea like any of your cameras would actually be put away collecting dust!) The highlight of the festival is, of course, the viewing and judging of the film submissions, but even if you are not submitting a film, there is a lot to do. There are fun competitions daily, parties, and great organized skydives. Trust me, you don't want to miss this one. Mark your calendars now and keep checking Flyboyz.com. We will have the categories, film submission deadline dates, rules, and festival schedule posted as soon as we can plus you can read about and see photos from past festivals. Rhonda Flyboyz.com
