  1. Come in and hear BillVon talk about his past in Playboy features! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. haha....I can't wait to see what other 'prototype' pictures are going to end up here when people keep asking for them... But the real fun wil start when you come to a dropzone and there's 25 fat people there, waiting for Jari to show up with some Phi! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Don't know about flevo's other 7 flevo-birds yet....But I'll be there! I'll be bringing my camera as well...let's make some pretty formations for pretty pictures edit: I'm bringing a few other guys from flevo (just came of the phone) Should be sweet...And ofcource beer, cheese, tulips and schmokes and a pancake afterward JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. So that's about 2,5 miles per minute...way cool! What was your total distance (and time) on that flight? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. It can be done... Simplest method is to download the .swf file (search for this in the html of a page) Then create a new project in flash, and import the .swf file. Because the file is (usualy) protected, you can't edit it. But you can just put the entire project on a timeline an export it again as a new project, or .avi or quicktime... And this is just using flash itself...there's also quite a few hacking tools out there...the more you look into protecting files..the more people will try to hack them.. If you don't want someone to see a video...don't put it online.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. I think Birdman Inc deserves a prize for their warning label inside their wingsuits JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Disclaimer: The writer of this message has had about 3 Bicardi-Cola's more then he should drink if he wanted to actualy try and sound reasonable. Zpelling and content might not be the best thing you've ever read..but here it goes anyways... Lengthy question: When you have a faulty canopy ('big ball of crap' above your head) and you need to go for your reserve, with your arms zipped, the fabric of the wing will not be a problem. And this is how it's teached during a first flight course..you don't need to unzip the wings before pulling your reserve...right!!? But I was wondering...if you do unzip before having a fully open canopy. And the whole thing 'goes to hell'. Then (with your wings/zippers open) wouldn't the wing be more of a loose fabric that could potentialy get in front of your chest and in front of your reserve handles...thus actualy making it really dangerous to unzip 'in' your opening (up to the point where your canopy is flying propperly). I could definately picture my flappig unzipped wings going in front of my handles... I haven't actualy tried this on the ground (see if my unzipped wings could hinder a reserve-procedure) but I wondered if anyone had any experience or words of wisdom on this subject (aside from what I, in this current entoxicated state of mind, think at the moment..which is..don't) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Do anything that will 'free you up' in the air. Because should 'the poo hit the fan' and you end up in an unstable position, spinning, whatever....then you should be able to handle that situation in a relaxed/heads-up way (or something close to that) and not freak out because it's the first time you're not belly to earth. So in short..I think the tip is just....try to enjoy what you are doing and have fun and try and get some solid experience in everything. When you have a good base in RW, that will also help you in flying in close-proximity to other wingsuiters. And I think every bit of experience you have in any way (canopy/openings/flying) WILL translate to your wingsuit skills lateron... So just enjoy the ride and have fun...don't focus to hard or it might become a frustrating experience...:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Great video Vesa (& co) Really enjoyed watching that... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Found his post through DejaNews.com http://groups.google.com/groups?q=protrack+data&hl=nl&lr=&selm=av77k7%243vl%2403%241%40news.t-online.com&rnum=1 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Jarno, Have you seen Falko's experiment with adding ProTrack info to video? Hey cool..Curious to how he did it.. I just exported the protrack data as .txt and had it go by at 4fps (protrack interval)in After Effects. About 1 minute of work. His approach is probably better, it also calculates the changes inbetween the 4 fps sampling that protrack does.. And thanx for approving the file :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. I've just uploaded a file to www.skydivingmovies.com It's a small experiment in adding protrack data on top of video. birdman_rotterdam.wmv (I'll add the link to this post as soon as it's available for download.) It's two guys from Skydive Rotterdam, Aeneus and Niels, making their first flights in their new GTi's. They've made some jumps in classics past summer, but these were their first few times back in the air in their new suits since a few months (they'd made a few solo jumps earlyer that day) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. DVD's, T-Shirts, Caps/Hats, Nipple Stickers and BM-logo-thongs? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Thinking hard about where you put the small lens-cap that's normaly on your Wide Angle lens as you put it away. Seeing it shoot by, as it comes out of you pocket on the next freefly jump you make....never to be found again Thinking you've just filmed the greatest jump of you life...then realising your camera was zoomed in to the max after you view the actual footage JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Unless you get a dedicated editing card, which has hardware encoding. Then it will speed up everything, and your CPU speed won't really matter that much. Used to edit on a P100, only thing that mattered was if the HD was fast enough. But nowadays most computers are fast enough to do everything with the CPU. And only folks on prehistoric computers and people with too much cash use seperate cards with hardware-encoding JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. What a lot of people also don't seem to realise is that Premiere is a Video Editing package, not a an image editing/animation package. If you want specific effects, animation, movements. Don't complain about the stuff that's missing in a program like premiere that was designed to just edit/join/cut video/sound. Just use the actual program they designed for animated stuff and cool playthingies...After Effects But even when you use premiere... The movement/zooming transitions you want could also be done in a few other ways (instead of the ready to go transitions) Using the clip>'motion' tab for instance, you can adjust and keyframe over time, every thing from zooming to rotation, distortion...whatever you want. Then use a normal dissolve (or the transparancy settings when using overlay tracks) to dissolve your cool zooming effect into another clip. And when everything else fails..there's always the manual (haven't seen that one up close though:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. It's neither down, or a bad link....it's probably your computer/connection. Everything has been working fine here (and on most computers I've used to check up on my daily dose of skydive sites) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. If it's money you want, just making a small DVD with cool footage, and putting it out there for other skydivers is probably a better idea. This will also give you more exposure with the 'right' kind of audience...cause no matter what voice over you put on your video..they will have Bob Shaget or someone like that put funny comments or death-defying idiot speeches over your good material Sometimes your lucky, but most TV programs probably also won't pay big amounts of money for your footage...they just want your tapes, and give you a pat on the back. 19. I usualy rotate my altimeter slighly onto my thumb-joint (I only have one finger through the 'loop' of the alti). So when I'm holding the grippers, my alti is pointing down (instead of being on top of your hand and pointing 'out)' This allows me to both see my altimeter without having to rotate my wrist and it doesn't limit my wrist in any way of motion. This is something purely done for comfort and easy viewing of my alti. Don't know if anyone else does it this way, but works fine for me..might give it a try... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Probably the same reason there is no Windows99 Grand tourisme injection Which suposedly stands for driving pleasure, great handling and vehicle perfection No clue how all this applies to wingsuits...but it probably just sounded cool JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Don't know if you are still in the UK, but it should/could probably arrive any day now. The DVD's were shipped from Finland about 1,5 to 2 weeks ago already. Hope you get yours soon. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Glad you like it man! It's a bit sad that the people who ordered an extra copy from me are recieving it one or two days earlyer then the folks who were actualy at the boogie (cause they are getting the DVD as a present via Jari/Birdman), but in the end when everyone has his DVD, I hope it'll be all smiles JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I was just curious..as the subject came up in the V1 thread. How many people have tweaked their own suit? Mine has some added loops on the arm-zippers that I can put over my thumb, so the zipper won't come undone in flight, and is a bit easyer to close if I'm wearing something baggy underneath my wingsuit. Basicly just two small loops, and something I've seen on a ton of peoples suits already....but it's a nice bit of added comfort
  24. I have a docu on Adrian Nicolas, who's hanging in a windtunnel with his wingsuit, attached on a 2 point harnas I believe. Don't know if you ever saw Felix Baumgarters birdman-towing action? Birdman towed by a plane (or 'how to destroy a classic plane in 15 seconds' ) Looked like a spinning kite... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Would love to see some 'web'sized versions of the photo's!! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
