Any cool videos of V-1 flocking yet? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I've heard the term '3D shape' quite a few times already. Could anyone explain what is ment by this? From the grippers on my RW suit, to the wings on ANY given wingsuit. Almosy every object on the planet has a 3 Dimensional shape/volume, and can be qualified as a 3D shape. Is the term '3D shape' based on the fact that it was made/designed with 3D CAD software or is it something that just sounds cool? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

If your Boss wants you to download music via Napster, he's not really taking the (to put it mild) legally smartest route... But when it comes to using music...neither .wav or .mp3 should be a problem...so it doesn't really matter which filetype you use (unless you are concerned with filesizes or minute differences in quality, but this is usualy not something to worry about) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Happy Birthday man! It's only the body that ages...the mind will always be that 6 year old smiling kid :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I'm not about to enter this pissing contest I don't think my opinion is of any importance here...I just have a small question... I think the rule for a BMI for 200/499 jump-students comes with use of a suit by Birdman itself. It's THEIR rules for use of THEIR suits... If they we're to make up a rule that says you need to wear a pink tutu and hit your head on a table 20 times while screaming "I'm an airplane" to be able to use it......then by using or teaching someone to use their product...you agree to the rules they set for that product....(on top of having to obey the general 'wingsuiting rules' you are talking about) And when those rules are about BM wanting to have people from who they know they are certified/skilled training the people that use their product..the you need to respect those rules (technicaly?) Don't know if I'm 100% correct...but the way I see it, you are not breaking any skydiving regs, but you are going up against the 'terms of use' that the company put up...? Just wondering if I understood 'the rules and stuff'? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Funniest moments in skydiving
mccordia replied to livendive's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Swooping down on a wingsuit formation at the hercules boogie, flying into my slot next to Jari...giving him a big "Yea baby...did you see that!!!" smile, and then suddenly feeling my helmet 'pop' of my head......thinkin "SHIT!" for a second...then looking to my right to see Jari completely cramped up, laughing his ass off... In every other sport it's perfectly normal to have (highly) payd coaches, that often don't have any real experience in the sport themselves, aside from coaching. They train people because they can take their (be it only theoretical) knowledge, and in clear understandeable language, teach this to their students. I don't think jump numbers are of that much importance when it comes to the actual first flight training/ground coaching. It's more the persons didactic/teaching/talking skills... The direction of wingsuiting? Moving more forward, and less down (both talking about glide ratio and the current 'friendly atmosphere') JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Impressive picture...any chance at seeing the video? What happened after taking this photo? You straightened yourself and flew your wingsuit for a small bit, or did you go for a 'pull' straigh away? (and added a small photo from a week ago) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The footage had been laying around for quite a while, but last week I finaly had some free time to edit it! Enjoy! http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1981 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Tomb Raider 2 Wingsuits, now with neato wings that don't appear untill after exit, and a special legwing that allows you to run really fast) Britney Spears - Toxic (videoclip) A Special Wingsuit design made from flappy silk, that allows you to look sexy and deliver toxic green stuff to bad guys Charlies Angels 2 The same black silk wingsuit Britney was wearing in her toxic video. Allows you to jump from a building and land safely. Looks damn sexy too... Gypsy Moths Early wingsuits. Sadly not as realistic as Britneys wingsuit but a great retrospect on how far wingsuits have some since then... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Interesting standpoint. So what if Jeb decides to land his wingsuit, and does it well, and he does this by jumping of a big cliff (landing on the water). Would this 'chuteless' cliff-jump and succesfull landing suddenly not be a basejump anymore? (all hypothetical...but seems like a fun discussion) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Friday is Beerman weekend The flocking weekend should be pretty sweet. The Rotterdam-flock will be there (3 birds out of 4) the Flevo-flock will be there (6 birds out of 9), and god knows how many more... Hopefully also a flockin' Fin...should be pretty cool...we might actualy manage to fill a whole JMP load with just birds... Let's paint the skies :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

118 seconds is my best so far 12000 ft > 3000 ft with a 54 mph avg. (TAS) Flying at about 60 mph in the beginning, and slowly bringing it down to about 48 mph (keeping that speed from about 5000 ft to 3000 ft) Still learning, but it's getting better...me happy :) It isn't untill recently that time and speeds started 'coming down' when I finaly started to focus more on speed and distance instead of just trying to cup air like a balloon and trying to fall slow (like everyone in here told me from the start...but I think everyone just wants to try and get slow numbers in the beginning and doing it the wrong way) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I know Perry jumped the same suit in Sweden at the herc boogie. And god knows where he's been before and how many jumps where on it... The blown out wings we saw at te Herc Boogie where usualy the result of a only minor tear or broken seam (1 cm) where wind suddenly got in, and just forcefully tore the suit allong a seam. Due to the wind blowing up the whole wing. As long as a wingsuit is in one piece, it's great and strong, but small tears in the wrong places can suddenly catch a gust a wind and just blow up and break........ JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Wing suit + C130 Herc + beach in Uruguay = Happy me
mccordia replied to aubsmell's topic in Wing Suit Flying
At the herc-boogie, they came up with 4 row exits, where birds jumped and waited one second before opening their wings, and others opened them straight away. So one row of 4 people would be wait/inflate/wait/inflate. Doing this, people didn't really get in each others way. And with the base exiting last and dropping down a bit, everyone 'floating in the backgground' could just dive in and start building the formations.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Wing suit + C130 Herc + beach in Uruguay = Happy me
mccordia replied to aubsmell's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I think the score at the end of the week (from I think +- 500 wingsuit jumps made from the Herc) was 3 suits with minor tears on the corners of the wings, one suit with a tear in the corner of the wing (Fredric) But I think in general the suits held up great. And we lost a Sugerglider on one jump....on exit he got blown up and away, and we never saw him again JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
That was the initial date that was posted a couple of months back by Henny. But let's look at this from a positive side....at least 1 of the weekends had the correct date on the poster But I see you updated the poster...looking forward to the first wingsuit weekend!! With a little luck there's even some Fins coming by for a good flock! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

If eveything works out the DVD will become available for 'the big public' soon at bird-man.com (for a not too expensive price) It has a plethora of groovy exits...Vesa, Jari and Andy Ford would probably be the best to ask (bunch of show-offs...climbing above the plane, and adding a barrel-roll...watch me...this sh*t is easy!) And couldn't resist playing with that exit pic a bit JP :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
