  2. It'll be on bird-man.com soon.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Sadly this is all I'm allowed to show.. The video will follow asap! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. If your HD is fragmented, it can also result in dropped frames. using the systemtools>defragmenter before rendering/exporting could also help... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Sometimes people are also caught trying to inflate the wing with stomach gases, but the relative wind really is enough to do so....(a back-deflector is NOT a good excuse to fart!) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. p.s. My occupation has nothing to do with the validity of this birdman landing video! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. When I get home I'll post a few framegrabs, as the video probably won't make it online before the end of this month JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. All the video-folks at the boogie gave copies of their footage. It was like a bunch of freeflyers on the loose....AT LEAST 3 to 5 folks with a camera ON EVERY JUMP, 2+ minutes of great material PER PERSON, PER JUMP, about 70 jumps in total made by TWO groups.... I am now proud holder of 14 tapes 13,5 hours of footage (also some really good ground-stuff in there) I've just started editing today, and all i can say is WOW...great stuff... I don't know how long it'll take me to finish it (need to get a 'small' computer upgrade to house all the footage:):)), but as soon as it's done we'll make sure all people that where present get a nice DVD version of it, and also see if Jari can put it online at bird-man.com and/or pilotdave at skydivingmovies.com for everyone to see... I'll try and keep you posted on how editing is progressing every once in a while (sadly I can only edit in the weekends the next two months due my work, so I'll try and skip a few weekends of jumping *snif* :):):) ) Gotta catch some ZZ's now.. Cya, Jarno (Biiiiiiiiiiirdddmaaaaaannnnnnnn!!!!) p.s. JP, I'll make sure your the NTSC footage doesnt get F*CKED UP in the horrible way they showed everything during the boogie-video-off-the-day (IF they showed anything at all), that was such a waste of great material... p.s.2 CUT IT AWAAAAAAY!!! 9. Oops...how one silly typo can make turn a person from 'sensible' into 'freak' I ment 3000 ft ofcource (or 900 meters...as those silly Swedish folks altimeters say?) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. I was averiging around 90 seconds from 12000 ft to 300ft (in a classic II), and no matter what I tried, I just couldn't slow it down. But I was actualy stretching the wing soo hard, that I almost kept all the cells closed. Rolling my shoulders forward, bending my arms inward a bit and pushing my elbows forward helped A LOT!! Just watch other good flyers and ask them. I'm still nowhere near the times and distance other folks are getting, but a few pointers, tips and examples from other folks decreased my avg. fallrate from about 75 mph down to the high 50's in just one week. Having a dozen talented folks around to show you realy makes a difference... There's probably a thousand tips everyone can give you, but I gues the best thing is to not try to hard, and just keep tweaking your body position. When you hit a good position you will definately feel everything slow down. I was flying realy cramped/stiff, and just having a more relaxed body position realy worked.. 11. I'm here at the Hercules Boogie, enjoying the last night with the guys! Leaving here is going to be hard. The friends we've all made here this week, and the skills gained are just to incredible to put into words. Andy Ford, Andy Scott, Jari, Thure (he ROCKS the skies in his GTI, and is one of the many great people we've met here) Pete, Bev (our mental coach), a special wonderfull admiration for Perry wresteling with his pneumonia and desire to jump and just being the niceguy he is.., and Vesa, who outclimbed the hercules everytime on exit and flew the hell out of everything in the skies (and never once bragging about it! even though it's highly brag-able) and again, Andy F. toping that off with climb way above the herc. with a barrelroll...have to see it to believe it!! And I could just go on and on with all the names..Graig..JP...Fredric and the other names I canät come up with (damn Cider stuff !) I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE! I learned sooo much this week, and seeing all the guys realy invent a dicipline in tight formation flying/birdman-bigways and actualy getting invited to be a part of that is humbling and incredible at the same time... Being part of slotted 19 ways (even though I was strugling to get into my slot) and being given the chance to do so was amazing... Skillwise it was such an incredible learning experience...I can not put it into words.... A big thanks to the TONS of people that made this possible, and to everyone who wasn't here...YOU MISSED OUT....BIGTIME!! You'll soon see the amazing footage that was shot here (we collected all the footage and I'll start editing as soon as I'm home!) and hopefully see all of you again in 2006 (lets make it the BIRDMAN-BOOGIE by then!!) I'm gonna miss you guys, and DAMN are we going to practice hard when we get back home.... JC signing off... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Patience and all will be revieled... When jari gets back to his nest, we'll make sure the video appears online.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  15. 2 more hours and this Dutch delegation will be in the car Too bad we can not take any tullips, cheese or some of those famous free Dutch drugs..we would have made friends sooo easy at the boogie.. I gues we just have to be friendly then and actualy talk to people... p.s. Jari, we have a cetrain DV tape with us for you to see JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Can't tell you much, other then 'it'll be funny' (hopefully) Come to the Herc. Boogie and you will see :) Hopefully it will be online one or two weeks later (next month) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Bought it from South Africa (via a friend) VortexII (great rig, even better price:) and a brand pankin' new Spectre 170 to fill it up in the lower half :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Uppon examination after landing, it appeared as though the toggles where stowed with a bit too much slack, which somehow (maybe during opeing, maybe already during packing) managed to catch arround the toggle/ring on my riser and pulled into a knot. When I came back to the DZ (I landed off) I showed it to a few people there, and actualy most of them came back with 'yea..I've had this happen once too...' or 'yea...Ive seen this happen before..' You can see on the video that (before reaching) the toggles 'appear' to be fastened correct. If it's packing error, or some freaky way of grabbing toggles....no clue... But in my case I tend to think 'think' it was a matter of leaving just a few inches too much slack line with the stowed piece of stearingline. Don't know if it's somehow related to velcro toggles and the line being less secured between the velcro bands on the risers? (got a new rig since last week, so hopefully I won't see any of this again) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~fxcordia/photo_skydive/2cool4words.jpg A picture we took while filming a short (hopefully funny) birdman movie last month... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. I had the excact same thing happen to me 2 weekends ago on a birdman jump. Released both brakes, but only one came off The other toggle/stearingline (right) formed a knot that I couldn't get out. Spent a short time trying to get it out (a bit hard to do while you need to have your other hand down keep the 'released' toggle in breaks, to prevent hard turns) Couldn't get it fixed so I stowed my left break again (was relativly easy to do) and landed using rear-risers. I have it on video if anyone is interested (but aside from some fidling with toggles for a few seconds and me screaming "Aahh titties!!" when I discover what's wrong it's not that interesting to watch...)
