using copyrighted materials is a criminal offense? Why not do it the American way and sue the bastard! If he used copyrighted materials (which your pictures are) he's toast.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

    Representing!

Dangerously cool you mean :) Did read about a guy wearing a steadycam harness (older version, harder to put on/take off) that fell overboard on the shooting of spielbergs' JAWS. Must have been a wonderfull experience..sinking to the bottom wearing all that stuff... But they managed to save the guy (and later even the camera and film inside) A good friend of mine has a steadycam at home, and I've tried it a few times...and it's not as easy at it looks (but that's always when you see good people doing their stuff...they make everything look easy) But dang...don't I look like a pimp in this thing.. Kinda look on my face...I know... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Is it just me, or does that image look like two people with their legs locked together (instead of a single person)? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  8. It's been brought up before, but the dutch newspaper printed this small blurb about Tom and his adrenaline-addicted-mom Translated from telegraaf.nl: Mother Tom Cruise is an adrenaline-junkie AMSTERDAM - Tom Cruise's mother is addicted to adrenaline. “She still has an adventourious mind. We went skydiving together a while ago and she thought it was incredible!” says the 41year old actor Skydiving is not the only extreme sport Toms mother likes. “She flies in my P-51 and last summer we went waterskiing on lake Powell and next to that she enjoys winter-sports and volleyball. She realy lives life to the fullest!" so sayd Tom Cruise about his active mother. So they went skydiving together....did Tom Jump along solo with his mom's tandem or something? Quite curious to see some vids of him in freefall :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Would be pretty cool if you ask me. you'd exit, and then see the girocopter doing a solid headdown next to you right after that..hehe Those things are damn unstable if someone would just hop out I think... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. It's too bad he's not a skydiver though... I was talking to a friend, and when I mentioned the word 'birdman' he replied that that was the nickname for Tony Hawk (for the amount of airtime he usualy does/last name combination) Now if someone could only turn him into a real birdman :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. 2 mornings in the weekend is probably the time you'll spend in the beginning, but if you become a real addict, 2 mornings in the weekends per month will probably be all your girfriend wil ever see of you in the weekends if she's lucky ;) Not to worry you or anything JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Here in holland, jump prices are around 20 to 25 euro's for 12.000/15.000 ft (depending on which dropzone you're going to) It's expensive yea....The money that got me +-260 jumps this year would probably have gotten me close to 400 in the USA JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Anyone have any reviews/experience with this type of container? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  16. I'd go with the Moody Blues, Hearing justin hayward sing/play tuesday afternoon, nights in white satin and many other wonderfull songs backed up by a full philharmonic orchestra was an absolute dream. I also realy dug Paul McCartneys last (back in the USA/World) concert about a year ago.. But the Moody Blues are an absolute number one for me... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. The jumps I was talking about all where briefed on what we where going to do, and how nobody would try nothing he/she coulnd't already do 100% in control. But after 2 jumps where I saw ppl do freaky shit time after time (even after warnings) I just decided to stick with nice 2 ways and 3 ways with people who I can trust to do what we briefed (not) to do... It's something I also hate, I'm not to eager to have somebody's neck break on my back while their are corcking. It was on a different dropzone then my home dz, with people who 'seemed' to be knowing what they where doing on the ground, but didn't stick to the plan up in the sky... A bloody nose, a camera-man almost loosing his head was just the score of one single jump. So solo's and 2 ways (trying to do subtle docks) are what I'm mostly trying to do with a good friend of mine. planned dives that turn into zoo-dives aint funny... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. A great corny one is Adrenaline A Dutch/South-African production (the actors talk english) http://www.adrenaline-themovie.com/media/trailer.html http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318276/ It has some cool base-jumps (mostly in cape-town South Africa), and one of the worst plots/stories ever...I had a blast... It's avialable everywhere for a few bucks here in holland..:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  20. McDonalds ran a simular add here in holland...everyone flocked to McDonalds for their new burger, and the jumper was the only one left behind. He was up in the tree, screaming for someone to take him along to the Mc.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. check out http://www.xntric.com/ in the 'for sale' section. They offer a nice lens (0.5 or 0.3) for about 60 euro's. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. I'm an okay sitflyer (stable, can do turns, hold level) with about a 150 freefly (all sit/standup) jumps and I'm trying to learn some new stuff. So far I've mostly been doing 2 ways. I've done a few bigger freefly jumps (4/3 way) but there always seem to be a few jumpers who don't stick to the plan. They can only sitfly, but in bigger jumps they suddenly start showing off their headdown skills (corcking bodis everywhere) I don't feel secure enough to be in those jumps, so I often just practice solo (same amount of fun..but safer) I've been experimenting last weekend with different arm-positions while sitting, and had some good tries, a lot of flailing around and a lot of fun ofcource.. Now for my question (finaly..) I was just sort of trying it myself, but does someone have a good description on how to fly your body/legs (and other arm) when you want to put one or even both arms in front of you (say for a dock) I could hold that position putting one arm back, one arm in front of me (making a 'peace' sign ofcource) but I had to hunch over forward a lot in an akward position to keep it stable. It felt like a wierd kama-sutra stance Some tips or explanations would be more then welcome... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I'm also looking to buy a camera this weekend. I film a lot and my 'old' JVC broke down (after only about a year of working...just normal house-hold video stuff) Even though I'm not going to be using it for jumping untill the summer (I'll hopefully/probably have about 400+ jumps by then) I do want to buy the camera with jumping in mind. I've already set my mind on sony, and the PC8 is what most people recommend. But there's almost not a single store that has in stock, and they can't order it any more around here. What other current sony camera's would be advisable for jumping? Meaning you can lock the focus on the outside (and not through a lame OSD menu) and a nice small weight/size? 24. I always de-interlace, because without doing so, it usualy looks quite crappy on TV. The fields realy pop-out with sudden moves (while I don't see them on TV when I play the original DV tape) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. So that comment kinda stuck huh :) I do think that (just from a fashion point of view) the suits from birdman look better. That matter suit (on the ground) to me, looks like a big shape-less shoppingbag that's loosely draped around your body on the ground. Where as a birdmansuit is much tighter/form fitting.
