Samsung digital-only sports video recorder
mccordia replied to skycop806's topic in Photography and Video
It's something I've also seen in several peoples video. When there is a shake in the image (no broad head-shakes, but small flutter, like they have a vibrator glued into their helmet somewhere) the image stabilisation tends to over-correct, actualy making the video more shaky. You can test this by putting your running camera on top of a washing-machine. With stabilisation on, the image wil actualy come out worse... I think you're talking about the more broad 'unfocussed/looking around too much' type of headshake quade...there's no image stabilisation that will help anyone there, but it also won't make anything worse then it already is :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

I think Skydive Ameland (NL) has a Boogie in Juli.. and next to that, Teuge and Skydive Texel are open fulltime (as mentioned by saskia already) Plenty of jumping to be had.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Here in Holland you did see a lot of Macs (mostly setup with 'media100' as editing machines) at professional studios, but more and more are switching back to PC based editing solutions (mostly because of cost..as performance wise, there aint much difference) In my experiences, people complaining about non-working computers (PC's), are the ones that use it as a big messy internet-porn-warez junk-pile...(use a seperate computer for that) I think PC stability is not an issue if you use a computer as a dedicated graphic workstation. My laptop is working like a charm, and I'm using it for 3D animation photoshop work and video editing almost 24/7. And after over 2 months of heavy abuse, I'm yet to see it crash for a first time... I have no problems working on either a Mac or a PC....It's mostly a matter of personal preference IMHO (unless you're seriously into 3D animation...the you're basicly F*cked if you use a mac) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Maybe upload it to www.skydivingmovies.com, I think a lot of people would love to see this! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I'd rent a suit a couple of times. A classic or prodigy... Make a few jumps...then once you get the feel for flying it, try a few different suits to see which one you feel comfortable with and horny and turned on, THEN order a suit... When you buy an expensive car you also take it for a testdrive first...right!? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

If you can afford/find it, take one with a 17 inch (or bigger) widescreen. The widescreen layout makes editing much easer in programs like Premiere/Media Studio/Mire Studio/SpeedRazor... The layout of those programs is mostly based on a widescreen or dual monitor setup...(although, ofcource it also does work okay on a 4:3 screen..but believe me when I say widescreen is easyer on your eyes) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

How about creating a huge hanglider, and using that to 'freefall un-assisted' across something like the english channel? That might be cool... But I agree....landing a wingsuit should be about landing a wingsuit...not strapping tons of extra materials on a body untill you end up with a C182 with your head sticking out through the front window JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

We had this discussion over a beer once... About doing a '3d' skyball, or RW coach with a HeadUpDisplay.... But looking at current GPS readings/accuracy for cevilian purpoises...I think we're a long way of before we'll see this puppy for real... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Imagine both things working out, and Perry perfecting his technique for naked wingsuit flybys on tandems... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Might be fun...but flocking with others is already so much fun. Technology is great, and even though gathering numbers/data is cool...the most fun wingsuit dives, are the ones where there is is little extra fuss as possible...No GPS to think of..no helmet...and just the free feeling of flying....a 3D grid projected on my helmet won't add a whole lot to that in terms of feeling... And I think more people share this sentiment.. Hell..if Perry could find a way to fly a wingsuit naked, he'd probably do it...for that ultra-free feeling But for me personaly, I also skydive to get away from 3D animated stuff for a while.....it would be the last thing I wanted to see in freefall no matter how cool and how much potential it has.....:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Speculation time? Are you going to build a massive net/thunnel/cone in which the landing birdman will be caught? Or a giant swing, with a hook installed on your back, catching you when you fly past it (a bit like airplanes on an aircraft-carrier).. I know that I'm looking forward to you succesfully pulling this landing of...must be one helluva trick-card you've got up your sleeve... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Imagine the # of jumps you could do in one day.. land, walk to the plane, and up again.... Back to back loads, and no second rig (or even a first rig:) and packers needed... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

wow... Would love to see video of that one! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Couldn't the difference be in the actual bracing for a hard opening? When you expect a hard opening you tention your neck-muscles to prevent the swinging of your head forward, thus giving your tensioned muscles a hard blow. If your neck was relaxed it would probably tear fewer muscle-fibers with such a hard opening. I was thinking about car crashes, where drunks who hit stuff are usualy pretty okay in frontal crashes, while the 'sober' people they crashed into (who braced for impact) walk away with whip-lash injuries. Maybe because Jaap wasn't bracing for an opening anymore and kept his neck/muscles relaxed... Just a theory....but something I'd been wondering about.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

If zipping up in the plane is difficult, why not just do it on the ground before getting on the plane? Aside from zipping up my arms, I'm usualy done when I board...? Is there a reason for doing it during the airplane ride? (a real honest question, not ment as an attack or anything..just don't see the advantage of doing it during climb) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

the end of the LQRS....can't always manage to fluff it inside the thingy, so I just put it on top of my shoe..(under my bootie) and in flight it can easely slip out (and probably does sometimes, I think) aside from poking someones eye out if they're not wearing goggles, I can't see any real problems with it.. aside from the obvious 0.0000000000000000001 degree of drag the cable creates, which forces you to stretch you left pinky by 0,2 degrees to counter this horrendous turn edited to add: As long as it's inside your bootie walking towards the plane and during climbing/exit (so it can't scrape/damage the cable) I think it's harmless.
