  1. www.wingsuitnews.com reports on all (BASE and Skydiving related) news, and posted on this news as well a week or so ago. Check it out at here Frode is the man! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Yes...thats the same...higher you go faster, lower you go slower. Glide-ratio is the only constant in that equation....so that one doesnt improve when you go lower (or decrease when you go higher). Only the speed at which you travel changes. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Yuri means that flying a constant glide on all your jumps, and getting the wind on top of that as a variable, is better than betting your life on the variable to begin with... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Is that video still online somewhere....I recall seeing that one a long time ago. I think thats still the longest/furthest B flight in a wingsuit up to this date if Im not wrong?? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Or make some performance flight flocks at the UKS boogie next month But that aside...a drink at UKS (or anywhere in the UK when Im also around next month) would be awesome cool.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Are you flying a V3 already? Any attempts planned in the (your) near or far future? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Sounds like a great challenge.. Whats the furthest distance flown so far on this jump? And are there any videos online on previous attempts? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Looks like someone is having fun JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Cool beans...Any form of minor airscoop planned on those inlets? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. This tends to happen a lot on jumps with you Belgian guys... I remember looking at a flock, the beach...the flock....the beach again....one more time at the flock...and then thinking...f$ck the flock, Im heading for the beach! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Cool beans dude! Ive added it to WWWN for you! What speeds where you doing downward!?? And did you have GPS to prove it...ooh..wait...wrong thread Going back to that first remark (on speed) would be interesting to see a slow and controlled plane-out from these speeds. That must be some insane forward speed/lift you're getting from that one... p.s. Now lets wait and see unexperienced flyers copy this one to be cool on YouTube. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Why not grab the riser normaly? That should be possible on all TonySuits with the sleeve system? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. I think he is refering to the V3 video, where the guy (in plane-out/flare) briefly touches a 4.0 glide ratio. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Not ment as thread drift, but in my jumping career Ive seen more tandems (on landing) be hindered by AFF students, high pullers and other people F*kin about under their canopy, than Ive seen them be hindered, injured or even interacting with tandems. Next to cameraflyers (on tandemjumps) sometimes following the tandems a tad to close for comfort. Close proximity wingsuit flyby's are a stunt. And a dangerous one once getting past a certain margin/distance. But not one I would immidiately describe as problematic. Aforementioned (non WS) jumpers interacting with tandems seem to be a bigger 'real' issue than 'us' wingsuit flyers? Though some people are (at low experience levels) doing stupid stuff, that could easily be dealt with by USPA (or any organisation) under current rules and regulations in case of dangerous behaviour. 15. Tony was ON A DROPZONE (remember that place) in the UK a week ago. Why werent you there jumping? You could have seen the suits up close and personal..be it only to look...not fly....but still JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. This is a problem on any wingsuit that has a low wingroot. The armwing influences the legs, and leg-motions influence the armwings. And both actions have opposing results in movement. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Haha...edited? You mean Im not doing wingsuit formation flying with a tandem here? SHOCKED! TV shows and editing...haha...cant be true JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. I think we should take the wingsuit forum offline for a month, and see if the universe will cease to exist JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. When there are written rules on these things, overly anal people like aforementioned TM CAN and WILL use this stuff to ban wingsuits from their load, or saddle us up with unreasonable limits as to what we can and cant do. It might seem excessive to you, but in this case it would be allowing someones unreasonable fears for something he or she doesnt understand, and empower him/her to have others jump through hoops or not jump at all. Resulting in beyond silly situations (and dangerous stuff, maybe forcing people to land out due to a tandem 'blocking' their approach back at the DZ). And educating people wont help. When someone fears a wingsuit and doesnt want it close, no ammount of talk is going to change that, Its like that old aunt you hated as a kid. No matter how often your mother tells you she is really nice, she'll still scare the crap out of you JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Noop, but percentage-wise, the chance at at least SOME skills is more present as the experience aquired during those jumper numbers grows. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. FlyBy distances are quite arbitrairy.. Ive been close to being grounded for a 'flyby' (which wasnt one), when I had to make it back to the DZ (body of water as the other option) and I flew 600 meters past a tandem. I think 1/3d of a mile that would be? The TM went full on pshycho mode, and wanted to kill me. He had never seen a wingsuit before, and thought that black dot in the distance (flying past, not at him even!) was going to kill him. The fact that the next tandem on the load is opening about 300 meters away from him didnt seem to matter.. Though I see some people could be happy with this stuff, some people are also overanal, and could use some actual laws on this subject as an easy way of doing stupid stuff and making all new rules based on this one.. (example) DZ RULES 1. Left hand patern 2. Wear sunscreen 3. feed the pony 4. No wingsuits on loads where there are tandems on board #4 might sound silly, but Im telling you some DZ's will gladly do this if they have one or two grumpy resident TM's who dont like ANYTHING outside of the jumps they do. 22. Are there prizes for the highest and lowest recorded opening altitude as well? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I bid 1500-ish! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. And when are newer jumpers going to look into the gear they jump a bit more and learn some more about what is what Even when you use a ripcord, there is still a pilotchute. Ripcords also are not a thing of the 70s. Quite a few people (especially those on SL progression) start on ripcords. I would venture a guess, and say that over 50% of the smaller EU DZ's operate with ripcord systems. I think ripcords will also come back into fashion for our dicipline once wingsizes have grown to such an insane span, its impossible to reach around them any longer ;) I know Yvess Rossy and Felix (not the cat! the other one) are using ripcords on their (hard) wings. As are the SkyRay peeps. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Use Costyns actionscript to overlay some GPS data. Makes this stuff much more interesting JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
