  1. I think the question is about the world championship title quoted on the website. Not about the reasoning behind the DVD price... Odensi only seems to want to know...At what competition was that world champion title earned... Instead of the whole epic story...why not just say> 'I dont know...'. Its easy to avoid the drama by answering someones question directly...and if you dont know. Dont put a spin on it.. He was on the website looking to buy the DVD set, so I dont think its about critisising your product DSE. Bad humor/comments aside... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. With the jitter/stutter that happens with the CX105 (and most similar cameras from sony) when you shoot high speed passing/panning objects close in front of the lens, you may want to test a bit first before you put a lot of effort in and end up with jittery footage.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. I think we ment the same thing DSE. What I ment is....why even bother defending that one...No need to... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. With all the tiny HD-ish cameras out there (GoProHero HD etc) why even go for something bigger.. http://www.flylikebrick.com//playmovie_flv.php?id=49 0:40 seconds is probably close to what you want already. Thats just the standard headband thingy from the GoPro hero mounted on a wristband (worn around the hand). Much smaller/lighter... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Lts ad a ton of cameras to un-evenly balanced positions in terms of weight and airstream/drag, to make it even more dangerous than it already is Sounds cool to me...hehe JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. I dont think going into the whole cost vs retail price thing is needed. You make a product and invest time and effort into making it, and to just play even (esp in a small sport as small as ours) prices can quickly be regarded as high. Though (IMHO) fair. Be it steep for some people. Which (to me) is weird, as we all spend double that amount of money in any given weekend, hucking ourselves out of airplanes for 2 to 3 minute stints.. If one doesnt agree with a price, dont buy/pay it. But leave it at that... So far, the only winners/world champions at Marl have been Lutz (2008) and Tobi (2009) if my memory serves me correct. And Robert, Loic, Tristan and CSaber (or who it was that won the Hungary WS comp in 2007?)) also have wins in both Russia (Stupino) and Hungary. Dont really see any FlockU members listed anywhere as winners of these 'world championships'? Maybe I read it different..but he seemed to ask a perfectly normal question? Why does everyone turn everything into a bitchfight? Just (anyone) say> the word 'world champion' was a marketing tag. Appearantly one that takes a lot of creative twisting and turning of the truth, as so far there isnt a just/real reason pointed out as to why that one is used correctly? Why act like he (Odeseni) is the bad person for pointing that one out, instead of just saying 'woopsy...we'll fix it...' Hope I dont also offend anyone with this (to me?) sane reasoning/listing of facts...but come on....I know we cant all hold hands and do a big gay hug and sing songs of peace love and understanding all the time....but geezz... fight...fight...fight!!! 7. A short reply, but at the moment Im hard at work writing a press release on the competition, and tomorrow Ill put up a press package with photos, detailed scores and a small write-up/additional information so everyone can submit articles to their own countries magazines and other media. The full competition video will be online in a few weeks, and the individual teams all sayd they would upload their 5 rounds to YouTube/Vimeo etc soon. Ours and the Frenchies vids should appear online over the next 2 or 3 days. Same probably/hopefully for the TonySuits factory team. Thank you all for a great event! And the battery powered donkey...that was just the icing on the cake! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  9. We just had the Awards ceremony. The Frenchies rocked. Beautifull flying! They scored 2nd. Im happy to say FlyLikeBrick scored 1st, scoring high points on both docks, flying style and camerawork. Costyn also won the prize for best camera-flying in the competition. Scoring 9 (out of 10) for 2 rounds. Really cool videos! James Boole wil edit a full competition video when he is back home (all teams, all rounds). And several teams will try and get their 5 rounds onto youtube asap so we can post them on wingsuitcompetition.com and wingsuitnews.com. We plan to have our (FLB) 5 rounds online before wednesday or so, Ill holla' when any of the teams put something up! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Rounds 1 to 5 now done for some teams already...just waiting for the judging and submitting the scores online! So far its awesome here... Starting with flocking as soon as the comp finishes... Cheerio! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Day 1 report! http://news.flylikebrick.com/2009/09/wingsuitcompetitioncom-training-day.html As to the live Scoring application. Note that the list on the bottom of that page is incorrect with regards to judging parameters. Points for each round will be awared as follows: Docks + Flying-style (1>10 score) + camerawork (1>10 score) = Round total JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. The French team might be without a videoguy. If you can make a last minute flight...I know for sure they can use your services quite well :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. And a big thank you to Christian "Wings over Marl" The Skyjester for again sponsoring the wingsuit competition with a last minute prize package of shirts, skyjester joy/sky-sticks and awesome cash-prize! Only 3 more days... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Heyhey, Our turbine aircraft is close to confirmed (C206 Soloy) so 12k here we come! If you want to check out the Island, see Google Maps. We'll be doing BeachLandings as well (intentional ones) We're mostly looking at 1 on 1 jumps, small formations etc. No registration fee. Only slot payd for coach/videographer (shared if multiple flyers are on a load). The list so far: The Flyers Netherlands - Jarno Cordia Netherlands - Costyn van Dongen Netherlands - Floor Verschure Ukraine - Zhuravel Vasyl Ukraine - Maksymenko Oleksandr Ukraine - Lysyuk Volodymyr Ukraine - Kvasha Grygorii Ukraine - Zemkova Olga Hans, Bave, Tim, Bart and quite a few other Belgian/Dutch flyers are still eyeballing their agendas from what I hear..but eager to come fly! We'll try and set a nice 5 way (+video) island record, and most likely also an Ukranian formation record Its going to be epic... Next to the wingsuit stuff, there wil also be quite a few normal funjumpers (canopies to swoop) and BBQ, party etc etc! The list of all attendees is already up to 30! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. the scoring Costyn is working on an online scoring app. So everyone csn follow how each of the teams is doing. Each round will be judged based on three criterea: docks - number of points made camerawork - 1/10 score style - artistic vallue. How clean are docks, how well does the team fly, how smooth do the do their transitions. 1/10 score These three added up will result in a score per round. Each round will then result in a 0-100 % score. Best team scores 100%, last team 0%. The weighted scores from the 5 rounds added up result in the final winner. In case of a tie, the score total (non weighted) will be used to see who comes out on top. For round 5 (artistic) only camerawork and artistic vallue will be whats looked at by the judges. No use of props allowed. The flying is what we want to see. Exit to breakoff is the only thing judged. Friday is the first competitionday, though teams are allowed to start thursday already if they want (or in case of bad weather). Announce commencing beforehand. Once the 1st round has been jumped, every following jump is s competitionjump/round. 3 rounds already make a valid competition, should we be weathered out. Intentional lowpulls will result in immediate disqualification of the whole team. Cya all wednesday evening! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. I spoke to Tristan last night, and his reply was..."Am I?" Hence my question... If you guys need a cameraman, let me know quickly so we can try and arrange one if you dont have one... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Jup...so much like Jebs waterslide...it would be survivable mostly due to factors not related to the wingsuit. Only using the wingsuit as an aiming device...not the means for a controlled, repeatable and 'pure' wingsuit landing. Powdered snow..airated water...etc..how many external factors and devices do you need for a wingsuit landing these days? The first landing Luigi did on his tiny canopy was on a gravel-road, level (not a hill). No matrasses. No pillows. No Snow. Anything less is something cool...but not a 100% true un-assisted wingsuit landing the way we all envision it.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Calling team TonySuits....who's on camera...who's flying...? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. I think it would be feasable to survive a wingsuit landing with current speeds. But much like the many motorcycle accidents and other uncontrolled crashes that many use as an example, the key factor would be luck. Not skill On this subject, many people who talk about 'a true wingsuit landing without a parachute', yet then spend days coming up with contraptions and instalations that should assist in a succesfull landing. Doesnt sound much different than 'use an additional ram-air wing, which sits on your back, suspended by lines, as a brake when the ground comes to close..' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. 120km is a LONG LONG slide. Do you by any chance mean 120kph? 120 km/h is what I ment.. Motorcycle made a 90 meter gash in the road...I was somehow okay...:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Ive done a 120 km slide on asfalt on (from) my motorcycle when a german car suddenly took it away from under my body. That worked out okay (wearing jeans/leather). Though that did cost me a few lives, and I wouldnt want to try it, breaking my fall with my chest-bone... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. What is the wager? Someones life... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. What I always say when people start 'adding' things to make a landing possible... Why not ad some wheels. Wil make landing much easier. Why not ad some solid wings. So the arms dont get tired. Why not ad a propelor. So you have more controll. Why not ad a little cabin around your body. So you have a more comfy enviromnent and place to mount seatbelts. Ooh...wait..somebody already built such a device...its called an airplane. And I do agree. Making wings bigger and bigger untill we're able to land them, its just turning us more and more into hanggliders...people suspended under wings in a sleepingbag...and perfectly safe to land AND take off.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Not sure if Ill be able to make this one, but awesome seeing upwind and downwind legs in the competition! For sure a large improvement in the competition circuit, in terms of getting a more accurate image of wingsuit distance and speed performance. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
