  1. We could have spent a lot of time rotating a grid in photoshop, but we choose to have a great time watching the seals when there was no jumping action JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  4. Sweet! Welcome to the flock! From here on, its going to be a crazy cool spiral into madness revolving around high speed exits, clouds to swoop, talk of glide ratios, insane levels of exitement over new bits and bobs of nylon that come out every few months or so, and lots of conversations in bars with arms snapping into max flight position You'll love it! I do hope that Blade was only on for the picture, and not the actual suit used for the FFC? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Thats the feeling most people here get when they read your posts JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Thats one of the 4 landing areas of Seppe. And as you can indeed clearly see, its a field where expensive grass for stadiums and filthy ritch peoples backyards is grown...preferably no swooping... And videowise, should be online tomorrow...just limited in terms of connectivety to upload here :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. And I almost forgot Erwin Cools, who also got introduced to the Nylon (and is already awaiting the delivery of a brand spanking new Phantom2z). Check out the pix! Fly baby fly JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Im uploading videos for all first flights from past weekend at work tomorrow. The neighbours WiFi at home isnt that fast at the moment.... Eli isnt the only one who jumped into the nylon this weekend. Kevin also got a taste of something new and cool! Also welcome to the Flock! Both of you impressed me with your good body positions, awareness and all round enthousiasm! And love the surprise on both of your faces uppon hearing the hello screaming in freefall. Here's some pix from Kevins' first flight: cruising - turning - look for the DZ - smile at the birdy - lovin' it! Coming soon to a sky near you! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Massive congratulations to Elias for making his first wingsuit flight today! I know how he hates the spotlight, so Im here to give him a nod! I met Eli quite some time ago, and as he wil gladly tell everyone, straight of AFF, his sole wish was to fly a wingsuit. He has been lurking here quite a lot to read and learn, and made one or two posts where he felt he had something to add/say (sangi..read and learn). And talking to him, you could notice he lived and breathed wingsuit. Enthousiastic doesnt encapsulate this kid Dispite wanting to start way sooner than generaly recommended, and having some examples on doing so closeby, Eli followed the advice given to him, pushed on, and made a sh*tload of jumps to get some experience under his belt. And today, the waiting payd off, and Eli got to cruise the chilly skies over Hoevenen, Antwerp! His flight was textbook, doing a nice patern, dummy pulls and pull-sequence at the right altitude and in a good and relaxed style of flying. And performance-wise, also showing much promise after only one jump already Many long, safe and beautifull flights Eli! And welcome to the flock! Here are a few pix from today: gear up - exit - clouds - smile JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Explain why refering to 2 older post with a link needs removal, and funny comments from Tero and Trond are still there.. Not bitching about the actual post (even though its the same person posting the same message for a third time)...just wondering why the funny remarks remain, yet a normal post refering to previous threads on the same subject are removed.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Why is Scott Campos abusing his moderator priviledges to remove a post with links, pointing him to two 100% identical posts he made on this subject already? It wasnt in any way violating forum rules, and actually trying to enforce them (why post the same message 3 times?). Cheap use of moderator rights to try and hide a triple repost...quite sad JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Hi Oddern, Reading this thread, some things do have to be sayd... Odeseni seems to just be commenting on Tony calling him (and anyone else mentioning it) a liar for saying that particular suit was slow in Norway, and than a month or two later fully retracted those strong statments by mentioning construction errors as the reason for the suit appearantly do flying quite slow. Which to me reads like "sorry Odeseni..you were right..and here is why..." Politics and oppions aside, I cant seem to find actual bashing of the suit/models. I only see Odeseni pointing out some claims on speed quoted regarding the Heliboogie werent accurate. And Tony now posting an explantion seems to kind of show Odeseni wasnt full of shit, and did actually know. and correctly posted on what he observed in an honest (be it for some people a bit to direct) way. Even though it was appearantly only one faulty suit, your post reads a bit stronger than it should, seeing as there wasnt any factual error in what Odeseni posted. Aside from you not agreeing with his oppinions and writing here, I myself wouldnt dare critisising anyones knowledge when I dont know his actual experience. Not everyone makes keeping a DZ.com profile up to date a weekly thing. I personaly wouldnt mind some tips and coaching on fast and far flying from him I think. Looks like he kinda knows his shit JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Yup...though learn to use the search function, as several threads already excist on the subject....just bump those instead of creating new ones to say the same thing over and over (otherwise the greenies might get upset....) PSA: Cold Weather PSA: Cold Weather JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Tony...next time you hit post, pleaase take 1 second to learn how the quote function works (get markup help, just read it once).....saves people puzzling when reading your posts tony wrote: Unless you're running a dropzone that has balloons as the standard aircraft..subterminal exits are not really the most common thing. The throw of the airplane gives you additional performance the first bit (a high speed skyvan exit being the most extreme example). But its not right out of the door I (and others) suggested. But only having 500 ft or so. tony wrote: Actually another 3000 feet... And yes..it would suck if (like other sports) it would mean people would have to train hard for it and grow some muscles/stamina Being actual athletes... Compared to the training most 4VRW and FS jumpers do for competitions, we are the most un-diciplined bunch out there (in terms of dedicated training jumps vs funjumps). Which isnt an issue, but dont try and compensate for that by not fully optimizing the playground/battle arena (available altitude) we have... And if the added flying time bores you...bring an Ipod tony wrote: Your obsession with high L/D numbers is funny... If you win with lower glide ratios (closer to the actual performance of a wingsuit), that wouldnt really change a single thing would it? tony wrote: Thank you! You finaly seem to get what I am hinting at

  16. Hey Bart, Contact goes through Leon (who you already mailed) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. I do rember seeing an older video with the rider 'pulling off' and the pilotchute dancing around between rider and wingsuit flyer for a second or two before it finaly does pull her off. I could see something like that go ugly real quick. Getting a foot or something hooked behind someones gear (wingsiuit flyers pilotchute dragged allong/off) at pulltime could make things interesting as well... And also something you dont want to do if there are lesser skilled people chasing the rodeo. You dont want to see those chasers end up giftwrapped in your main.. Id just stick with the roll-off....(for which you always pick the opposing side of the pilotchute/hackey attachment). Though if all goes well, this does look awesome.. Again...great camerawork and flying on everyones behalf there..! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Im going to have to wait untill after Xmas, but Ill be ordering one with you for sure. Its always a pleasure to watch your videos, and I always look forward to seeing the boogie pictures on your website after an event. When I read your post, my first thought was 'finaly!' Nothing but good words! Great camerawork, great flying. The only bad thing I could say about you is that your not as loud and arrogant, as your work would fully justify you to be. There are already quite a few nice books on the history of the sport, but a nice coffee-table (wingsuit nerds' playboy!) book with just beautifull pictures...this is a first...congrats! p.s. Is there a chapter devoted to purple mike? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Newsflash! This is going to sound like a bad episode of a boring TV series, but THEY MOVED THE ISLAND! Due to restrictions the airfield has gotten from the island council, we sadly are forced to do some last minute switcheroo action. And skip a few Islands. Instead of the small dropzone at Ameland, Skydive Texel is throwing us a party, and will have two Cessna Grand Caravans standing by to take us to 13.000 ft (and we will try and sneak in one or two 16k loads)! We will stay in a local hostel/farm, and BBQ and (greasy) food will be arranged every night! For those who dont know Texel, here is a video from a few years back, that shows the views! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mupbLSge48g And of course we will be trying to fly the tightest formation so far on the Island (so fly those slots and look cool doing it!!). For people (with sufficient experience) who want to try, I will also have some pre-release Stealth2 demos with me to demolish some personal bests in time and distance flying, or try some max freefall time flocks with some big suits flown at max! Next to flocking, there is also plenty of time for 1 on 1 jumps and photo/video jumps if you're looking for some pretty pictures of yourself! This is the list of people coming! My guess is that this last minute Island swapping action wil only make the list grow Big planes, and no problem getting our own jumpruns (facing the DZ, no turns, max time! max speed! Or play a bit with carving formations! We'll make it cool!). The Flyers Netherlands - Jarno Cordia Netherlands - Costyn van Dongen Netherlands - Floor Verschure Ukraine - Zhuravel Vasyl Ukraine - Maksymenko Oleksandr Ukraine - Lysyuk Volodymyr Ukraine - Kvasha Grygorii Ukraine - Zemkova Olga Netherlands - Hans Schoeber ( Sa-Su) Germany - Benedikt Klees Belgium - Bavo Belgium - Bart We will arrive thursday morning (22nd) and head back sunday (25th) with the last boat. People wanting to do FFCs, please shoot us a note at info@flylikebrick.com For people already heading to the Island from the Intl. Airport (Amsterdam Schiphol). At Schiphol airport, buy a trainticket (from the machine or one of those real people locked up in a booth) to DEN HELDER. And from there its a 5 minute walk to the boat. For more info on the train/times/price, check http://www.ns.nl Cya all in slightly over a week! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Than thats one thing I mis-understood. But dive aside, seeing the differences between up and downwind legs, thats at least one step towards getting a more true performance gauge. With the dive gone, and a longer (11.500ft to 4500ft) competition window (also making endurance part of the game) being a next good step. That the dive is incredible fun, and something competitors (for fun) want as part of this type of competition. Sure, why not. But than also be realistic in seperating peak performance, and actual sustained performance levels of a wingsuit. Seeing as you previously quoted scores at these competions as absolute glide ratios the suits are capable of, its technically also what you want. Even though you may not realise it yet... 22. If its creative you're going for.. A nice thing, is to scale/stretch a copy of your 4:3 video to 16:9, and slightly darken/blur it. And than have your 4:3 video on top of that. Just so its not black bars on the side, but something slighlty coloured, thats not detracting from the video in the center.. http://www.flylikebrick.com/playmovie_flv.php?id=49 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I might be there....might even be in the same car with you driving there Not sure if Ill be on wingsuits much that week though, will dust of those FF skills a bit and do some freefly/freestyle practice with my lady Though always happy to do some video, flocking or the ocasional fun 2 way if I have room for a jump here or there. David is usually also game. And always lots of flockers just dropping by anyways... Would be cool! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
