  1. I just received the collection of rough cuts from Visa, of which Ill edit a longer video for the PF youtube. And I have to say it... Wow! The stuff he sent me has even better shots, and some stuff that will make your heart race with excitement (and envy). More to come..real soon! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Though I didnt mind it that much here (though did wish for more outside views), it is sometimes funny to see people slap a title in front of a rough bit of footage, and credit themselves for 'editing' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Like I wrote on wingsuit news. Amazing cinematic edit/video. I think there are few people who look beyond the typical 'acting out on the ground' and 'exit till deployment' style shots on videos. And often, even when they do its framed shoddy/shakey etc. Great, great video! Love those long lens shots, following that prodigy over the landscape. Nothing but compliments. This is the kind of stuff worth downloading/watching over and over! Chapeau! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. the 3D 'lens in a cap' is a fun toy, and the post-processing required can be easily done by creating an action, only requiring a single press of the 'play' button to turn the images into more common anaglyph (red/cyan or red/green) 3D images. The images that come from the lens are also viewable without any glasses by looking at them cross-eyed. Though sadly you do loose about half the resolution, because of the images being alligned side by side in one frame. Though for proper 3D images, the moving focal point and aim of the camera is something that needs to be adjusted on a per shot basis, if you want to fully optimize the paralax/depth you can create in the image (next to also giving the viewer less eye-strain/headaches) For those looking to play with 3D, the 'Nu View' system is much more interesting to look at, as its also has convergence control (allowing variable focal distances, instead of one set 'infinity') and it shoots true 3D (shutter based), and places the left/right eye images on the odd/even fields. Instantly watchable with shutter glasses, but also not to hard to convert to anaglyph 3D for web/dvd sale. We're done some visual effects for 3D films now, which is even more fun to do (as well as more headaches). With 3D becoming more and more common, and more 3D TV channels and television sets becoming available. I think we will see more and more affordable '3d lenses' hit the market the coming months/year.. 5. He reminds me of the boy that gets a kick out of getting other people frustrated, and having a good laugh about it. And you're now the boy who gives him what he wants... Seems like he pushed the right buttons with you... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Depending on your weight, a bigger suit can also be a hindrence. Just like a big canopy, lacking the wingload to fly properly with others. Ive seen several small/tall light guys 'upgrade' to big suits (blade, , Sm1, ghost etc etc) and completely lack speed to keep up with groups. Though you may be flying the same glide ratio, the added surface also ads drag. Meaning some people have to fly the suits without any armwing, and mostly on legs to keep up in a weird diving position. Most of the smaller/lighter built (often lady)flyers will be better of on something more lean and mean, in terms of flying a suit that gets em everywhere. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Looks like you guys (and girls) are having a great time. Now show us some of the flying sky-porn! Freezing and snowy here. Had to smile to de-ice my face. Hope its less chilly there :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. And a longer look back, and expanded new years wish for 2010 on our website. Looking forward to seeing everyone the coming year, and making many great flights together! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  10. Though already mentioned on other forums, Darren (aka Zoter/Mad Dog) was a regular poster here, made many great wingsuit videos, and was lately 'close to fulltime' wingsuit flyer. So I think he deserves his mention here. Darren sadly had a BASE accident two days ago, merely slipping at the exit point at an underhung cliff in Swiss. With no altitude to recover and get his wingsuit flying, he did manage to deploy his canopy, but sadly the direction it opened had him collide with the wall. He was someone very methodical about what he did, and not into rushing towards proximity flying or glorifying his own mistakes in 'look at me' videos. Sadly not all of his videos are available on skydivingmovies.com anymore, but he leaves a great selection of videos that hint a bit at the fun person (and great video editor) he was. Darren and Matt were always the two people I had this 'silent' friendly competition with, just in terms of making my next video better and more fun to watch. A jump with him, freefly or wingsuit, was never a dull one. Reactive, responsive and always full of smiles. He will be missed dearly... The world had lost another great wingsuit flyer, skydiver, basejumper, urban explorer, photographer, friend, boyfriend and family member.. If you are jumping this coming weekend..make one for Darren.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. If you stick to forum rules in terms of removing noise, double posts, trolls etc I dont see why anyone would object..If post dissapear for other reasons, thats a whole different subject... And even the shittiest of threads can serve a purpoise at times...when the most outragious comments, or non related discussions can sometimes spark true gems in terms of (thoughtfull) replies and the tips, safety awareness and knowledge within those..or just (be it blunt) make us aware of a general vibe or new trend we should be watching for... Asking posters of agressive or offensive post to rewrite/rephrase their message into a more intelligent wording, so its a question or statement (instead of flame bait), seems more productive in the long run...though a lot of work...and if its clear the only message is a middle finger...than kill the post for sure... Whichever works... But Scott said..nobody forces anyone to read the forum or reply to threads you dont like.. Dont feed the trolls..we've seen the ugly side of cencoringin the past...its also not all its cracked up to be... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Oxygen on the plane silly..we're not skimpy on the breathing thing... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Sweet.. Also keep an eye on that skyvan (dont remember the callsign) but its stationed in NL/BE, and talking to the pilot, it seemed like some ferry flights might be possible (when its booked for UK boogies, and flying there from this side of the water) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Bomber, keep in mind the terrain had an angle... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Ive had some 200 mph dives in a wingsuit. High speeds are possible... But leveling out, it seems the angle required to get level or pisitive climb out of a wingsuit, is one headhigh that also starts killing speed immidiately. But fun to play with for sure...who knows whats possible.. Flying past a canopy and going slower for a brief moment feels like climbing...though I dont think anyone has ever presented actual GPS data or other proof on anything more than almost level flight.. 16. We are looking at doing a 20k weekend at Texel sometime spring. Dates tba. And anyone eho has additional info or boogie dates for the Wingsuitnews.com calender, mail em JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Wingsuitnews.com (embedded google calendar) and flylikebrick.com list some of the current boogies planned.. More coming soon :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Ive taken the Stealth2 out of c206t and c172, and even did some exits hanging under the strut. Think like a lady getting out of a car in a miniskirt, without underwear, and paparazzi lurking. Legs closed at all time, knees tight together, and stick to the plane body/strut like velcro..hugging it close.. On exit, stay small untill you've cleared the hor. stabilizer. Also note these kind of climb-outs are not the place and time to test/play with a BASE-pouch for hackey/pilotchute location..it could severely endanger you, the pilot and anyone on the ground.. Id even avoid hackey-balls, and try to get a freefly pud, as it locks your pilotchute in place a bit more on those dodgy climb-outs and handicapped scuttles though the plane (next to pilotchute/bridle entanglements on deployment). Wear sunscreen..eat your vegetables! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Hey everyone...at the moment details are being brainstormed and finalized. But let me just hint at you guys some of the things Kathy, Scotty, Scott and I are currently aiming for.. small groups, bigger focus on coaching/skills Zflock wingsuit challenge. A 2 way + camera competion. pre-boogie coaching and training We hope to have more finalized details this coming week! I will try and already be on the DZ the 14th, for those who want to get some 1 on 1 jumps in, or just fun-fly. We will of course have demo's from the latest line of PF suits. So if you want to give the Phantom2z, Stealth2, V3 or any of the other cool toys a go....just drop by! Exited to see everyone again! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Cool pix, nice video! Im of to bed now, but Ill throw it up on www.wingsuitnews.com tomorrow as well! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am-Z-Dyrtkk I know you can climb due to the speed/throw of the airplane...(the video you posted is mine). But gaining altitude due to airplane speed/power, is a different thing than climbing under your own power, as its often quoted. And Im stil not sure a wingsuit can build sufficient speed in a dive, to gain so much lift it results in a negative fallrate. +- 8 mph fallrate for 2 seconds is the closest Ive gotten. Engines are the way to go Much cooler also (superhero vibe!) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. On the Jii wings suit there isnt even a hole, but just a slit the size of the MLW, and even there its possible. Highly unlikely maybe, but just like any other suit. A wrong fit and openingshock can do things that change your view on that one. Talk to Andy Ford about cutting away his main by using thumbs hooked behind the cables, if you need more convincing. Its about hole placement, relative to your handles. Not the size of the hole. The hole pictured here seems similar sized to the one on other suits/brands. As unlikely as it may seem to you. Pinchecks! See if the fit and placement of the hole is correct. Not every rig is the same. Check for tension on the handles when sitting down. Fabric may never touch/ride against the bottom of the handles. A handle pushed out is just as bad as one swallowed. And this suit and system isnt any different than other suits/brands (I used to own a home-modified prototype suit with this exact system/setup..100% identical to these pictures. I do know this setup 'quite' well). Be safe. Tell people to always check for a proper fit, and dont let 'unlikely' be a reason for skipping that. Nice looking suit..good to see the improvements over the initial Blade. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. SkyJester don't use combustion engine for his flights! He use a nozzle operated with peroxide from high-pressure bottle ) Yes..thats why I wrote 'rocket engine'.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
