I would take this point seriously weren't it for the fact that I don't recall you expressing any disgust at all with the 4,000+ killed in Iraq over a deliberate lie while your ex-governor's administration was calling the shots. If you read this thread more closely rather than taking the gratuitous dig at the "dems" and "libs," you'll see there are many who opposed the war in Iraq and consistently oppose the attack on Syria. I am turned off by his haste to go blow shit up as his predecessor did. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Wrong, as usual. I don't agree that we should bomb Syria, but I can see his point in relation to the linked article. How is he wrong on this one? Or are you just playing contrarian? And for that very reason I would be cautiously optimistic about this mission as well. After the last administration's con job, I have little faith left in what this government, regardless of administration, tells/sells me. Especially when it's pushing so emphatically for war. Well, our doing nothing has amounted in over 400,000 deaths in Darfur. We stayed pretty silent on that one. Let's pretend for a moment that the US are the "good men" who still have any semblance of moral credibility from the time we left Vietnam: I don't think much would be lost if we "do nothing" on this one. I agree, and I think he was exposed for that when he said "I'm not judging"...only a couple minutes after he called Weiner "disgusting." Though I do give him points for telling Weiner "you deliver for yourself" after Weiner boasted that he delivered more for the community than the other guy ever could. Not only the value in employee morale, but if I were to buy a PC, I would definitely consider a Lenovo as I think this gesture reflects very favorably on the company. I would be happy to put my $ in a company led by people with such ethics. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

If that is your standard, then practically anything is a "chemical weapon." Hell, oxygen for that matter. But we're talking about "chemical weapons" as defined by laws and treaties. Not simply whatever the hell we want to define it as. The law might say that Agent Orange isn't a chemical weapon. Reality says otherwise, and its effects are still felt today among children in Vietnam. http://cnnphotos.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/30/effects-of-agent-orange-ongoing-silently-in-children/ The US certainly does not hold the moral high ground on the issue of chemical warfare. I'm glad somebody gets it. This war has been a foregone conclusion for some time. War has become an industry that demands consumption (more war) to perpetuate it. I've watched this Eisenhower video many times, and it breaks my heart that America didn't listen. "God has brought you here to ORU so that you can be an eagle for christ." "He wants you to know that you were not born to be a chicken or a goose, but you were born again to live like an eagle." "If you're hanging out with turkeys tell em goodbye. Get with eagles if ya wanna be an eagle." And to think, this is an institution for higher learning. 'Monkey Christ' Fresco Boosts Tourism

You can't make this shit up. This fresco "restoration" at a Spanish church is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-23693176 Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. -
Obama Pledges Greater Surveillance Transparency
masterblaster72 replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
WTF? "Surveillance" and "tranparency" in the same pledge sounds like a load of BS and/or a major fail in the making. If anything I think this is an act to save a bit of face after his snub of Putin. It's hard to imagine there's anyone who is not at least a little disappointed in this president. That fracking is not as safe as supporters like to think it is. Some energy companies go to great lengths to silence people who suffer from their lack of responsibility. Two Pennsylvanian children will live their lives under a gag order imposed under a $750,000 settlement As far as the articles you posted (though, along with everything above it in this thread)... you are displaying serious reading comprehension issues. You have now stated how you feel (what you have posted does not support those feelings); using articles that have definitely leaned the answers toward safe, than less safe. Where I feel better about fracking, given everything that has been said here, than before I even started the thread. All while everyone making arguments, like yourself, are jumping around from issue to issue, not answering the next stages of logical questions(per each individual issue), and not finishing arguments. This settlement story has no substance. It does not even come close to showing that the practice of fracking is unsafe, nor safe... likely, someone fucked up. Likely it was an above ground fuck up. Again, going back to what I said yesterday: you will believe who and what you want to believe, and you have your motivations for it. I read this article this way: if this energy company had nothing to cover up, why the gag order, and why this same pattern of ordering gags on relocated families throughout the country? To you that is a non-point, to me it is simple reasoning that makes perfect sense. Anyhow, I'm out, have fun supporting the government and this industry that has it by the balls. Peace. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Government collusion with business for profit is exactly what is happening with fracking in the US. Pennsylvania is an example, and since I have strong ties to that state, I take a strong interest in the issue. I think this debate is largely about who people choose to trust and what their motivations are. I tend to trust residents in rural communities whose water supplies have been coincidentally turned undrinkable post-fracking; I find them far more credible than oilmen in business suits with a battery of lawyers, PR professionals and politicians standing behind them. Undrinkable from what? Where? And if you don't like what a state is doing, you can move... that's part of the Constitutional setup; you can escape. I already left, faster than the door could hit my ass on the way out. But I do take an interest in the issue as I have close family and friends in Pennsylvania and I return often to visit. Regarding your question regarding undrinkable water, I think at this point it doesn't matter what evidence I provide because like I said, we will choose who and what we want to believe for our reasons. That being the case, I don't think this is an honest and open discussion, nor was it from the start -- just look at your first few responses in this thread regarding bullshit, skeet skeet etc. Then again, this is SC. So to humor you, I've provided a couple of links for you to choose from. Clean air and drinking water in PA is my motivation, so I believe everyday people whose rural communities have been suddenly turned into industrial zones against their will. You believe others for your reasons such as national security and not depending on the middle east for energy; that's fine. You know what I believe and why I do, so you can call me a stupid liberal, pile on the laughing icons or post a dismissive scoff; have fun. Dimock, PA or Dimock, PA. Pavillion, WY or Pavillion, WY. A very valid and important question, one that the press should be asking administration officials repeatedly. This is my single biggest disappointment with Obama's presidency. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

That is equally as dumb as the epilepsy example... Oh it's a fine analogy. People defending an industry that has direct adverse consequences on peoples' health -- they did it decades ago, and they're doing it now because there is a lot of money at stake. The only rebuttals I have seen from you are a bunch of laughing icons and "dumb." I really think you can provide something more substantive than that if you're so convinced that fracking is safe.
