I don't see anything self-righteous in your approach, and your original post was well-worth the read. Much respect. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

In case you missed it, you also posted, "Maybe if they gave up on abortion, the Repubs would view that as a sign and give up something in return. That would really set things in motion, don't you think?" If you didn't mean that, then don't write it. And in case you can't understand basic English, my post also said that it'll never happen. Apparently you missed the sarcasm. I also said it would never happen and was only challellenging the poster to prove a point. If you can't keep up with the conversation, it may be time to be silent. My point was that democrats demonstrate more in the way of bipartisanship. I will list the examples again: 1. Clinton appointing a republican SecDef 2. John Kerry offering a VP slot to a republican 3. The OP (not necessarily a democrat, but certainly not posting in favor of the repubicans) stating that TWO parties are necessary. How tenuous you think the examples are is not relevant; it is still more than you can say for republicans. I asked you to prove me wrong and to provide either an example of a republican politician acting in the spirit of bipartisanship, or even a republican poster in these forums saying anything resembling "BOTH parties are necessary." You instead ignore the question and go on the usual rant about Pelosi Reid bHo etc. So thank you for proving my point. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

And lets not even get started on how the Dems rammed Healthcare Reform through. "We have to pass the bill so that you can know what's in it"-Pelosi A shining example of bi-partisanship, don't you think? Face it. Both parties do it and it's never going to stop. Even if Obama, Reid and Pelosi are not acting in the spirit of bipartisanship as you and lawrocket pointed out, my point still stands -- when was the last time a republican offered a SecDef or VP slot to a democrat? It doesn't happen. And let's not count the Zell from hell speech at the republican convention in 2004; that was pure BS. Republicans are too busy demonizing democrats. At least we've seen democrats try. Also, show me the last time a republican poster here acknowledged that BOTH parties are necessary for balance in congress as billvon did. I can't recall, but please -- prove me wrong. I think if republicans had their way, they would turn this country into a one-party system. It is a Democrat who appointed a republican Secretary of Defense (Clinton). John Kerry extended the VP slot to John McCain in 2004, but McCain declined. Democrats make concrete bipartisan efforts; it is republicans who are obstinate and stubborn, blaming all of the country's problems on the opposite party instead of looking at themselves. You're projecting when you say that democrats don't try to bridge the gap. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

No need to think or discuss honestly when you can simply attach tripe from conservative mailing lists to your post. I'm convinced that you're one of those The Onion referred to that would vote Ahmadinejad before Obama. Find me a republican these days that's willing acknowledge this and maybe we'll be in business again. Until then, expect the politics from the right to remain childish, adversarial, obstinate, polarized and brazenly dishonest while their whining becomes ever more shrill. I received my absentee ballot notice from the state of Pennsylvania (major wing state) today by email. I usually don't vote either R or D, but your folks are putting on such a shitshow in the primaries this year that I feel compelled to vote for a major party this time around. I'll be voting to re-elect Obama. Thank you for your prayers. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

More Rock-Solid Republican Campaign Logic
masterblaster72 replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
Well that was a fun read. It'll be interesting to see what this campaign invents with that massive warchest and lack of ability to make good use of it thus far. I wouldn't be surprised if Rove steps in this mess in the next few weeks to try to save the day. Population control. All Problems = Too Many people
masterblaster72 replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
It's quite simple: everyone likes to fuck. Do you want to be told that not fucking will solve the world's problems? You'll probably do what everyone else does -- think that it's a great idea so long as you don't have to abide by it. That's overpopulation in a nutshell. Doug Stanhope states it all very eloquiently here. I do agree with you though -- overpopulation is definitely a root cause of the world's problems. Those problems will only compound in the future. LOL wtf. This blog is hilarious. It doesn't take long to get to the laughs. From the top of the page: Sunday, August 1, 2010 It's been over two years since I posted It's been over two years since I posted to my blog, but I'm going to try to start up again. Posted by ClimateWatcher at 10:54 AM 12 comments: Monday, March 24, 2008 NOAA Repots Worlds Oceans Cooling The IPPC 2007 report didn't mention Antarctica except to say there were no measurable changes there. But as usual the IPPC wanted to cherry pick research. A 2004 study of Antarctica found that since 1850 the average temperature has dropped 2 degrees C. That's 3.6 degrees F. Seeing how the IPPC frets about a .5 degree rise in temperature anywhere else in the world, interesting they don't want to even think about a 3.6 degree drop. http://www.springerlink.com/content/j358561157054466/ Posted by ClimateWatcher at 11:16 AM 6 comments: Friday, July 6, 2007 The IPCC and it's Fuzzy Math .... Simple -- the energy status quo lines his pockets and he feels threatened by the prospect of increased use of renewable energy sources. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

I don't work in the energy business. Not even Bill considers me a "denier" because he understands that I've taken the time to educate myself about it. I find your characterizations to be abhorrent ad hominem. Got a problem with what I am writing, then let me know instead of attributing non-existent motives to me. Okay, this post right after I post my clarification to Bill. Argh. I should have clarified that it wasn't directed toward you at all in my original post. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
-
My point was just that, illustrating that the individual's "financial incentive" (the posters here who work in the energy business who close their ears because the status quo is what earns their $) is the fundamental problem that results in those collective think tanks and organizations funded by oil companies that affect public policy. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.
-
And that's what I find most abhorrent about these consistent anti-environmental posts from the same posters over and over again. They work in the energy business, and no matter what facts are presented to them, they won't change because that's what lines their pockets. It's very similar to some posters here years ago who worked as military contractors who were all for the Iraq war and wouldn't begin to consider any opposing viewpoints. Now take that to the institutional levels and we all have a very real problem. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

I think he's full of shit and deliberately lied. There is a huge difference between his unimpressive real time of 4:01 (average guy) and 2:5x (super for a non-professional athlete). You would either have to be senile or lying deliberately to mix up those finish times.
