Hell yeah he's right. Almost every skydiver I know believes in Santa Claus. Why last year Santa brought me a new Quasar for Christmas and it came right on time. I think Santa really likes skydivers.

Well some clarification seems to be in order. With the adjective in front "smart ass" IMHO usually sounds better than "ass smart" where the adjective follows the noun. However if I just say "what an ass" ass does seem to work all by itself as a stand alone adjective. However, please use stand alone adjectives here on DZ.com with care because it can show double or triple meaning. In my example, "what an ass" could mean, WOW that girl/guy has a fine ass or it might mean, WOW that girl/guy is a complete and total asshole or it might mean, WOW what an asshole as a compliment to your avatar.

PLFXpert I'm glad you asked. On DZ.com I find myself mostly using this word as an adjective in front of a noun. For instance, that guy/girl sure is a smart ass. Of course I also use it to describe boobies. An example would be-- The Rack(tm) v.2.0 sure has some smart looking boobies versus using smart as a verb. Boy getting hit with those boobies really smarts.

This is a pretty small community for the most part and so I would have the seller give you the info of the DZ he normally jumps at and you can get references from the DZO. Most DZO's have no problem doing this if they know the jumper. You would provide the same info to the seller so that your DZO can vouch for you. Once you establish that the other person is legit and had good references then have the rig sent to a rigger in your area to act as a third party and to inspect the gear. I'm assuming you would want it inspected. The details of the shipping and payment is usually discussed and a mutual understanding is agreed to by both parties. I am in rigger and in answer to your question, most of the time the buyer sends the money afer the inspection. Be advised that the rig might not fit and so who pays for the shipping to and from the rigger. If the person selling the rig is 6' and 200 pounds and the person buying the rig is 6' and 200 pounds there is still a 50/50 chance the rig won't fit correctly. A rigs fit really depends on the upper body torso differences and waist size. This is just something to keep in mind when talking to the seller. Good luck on your search. I got a quasar 2 years ago and have a couple of hundered jumps on it. My daughter also has a quasar and we have not had this issue. The brakes do stow diffferently but at least for me the set up does seem functional. The set up is similar to the set up on a SET 400. However, sewing a keeper on the back of the riser is pretty simple. My daughter had this done and she prefers it. I'm sure Puester could do it for you pretty easily next time he is up there. For all the people who said a wind tunnel is not safe skydiving. I now must agree. Even though it is billed as indoor skydiving and caters to kids and other whuffos, you guys and girls are absolutly right. It is not safe. Genuises, whiz kids, all those types of adjectives come to mind. Thanks for keeping me in check. I really don't know what I was thinking when I made that comment and put a wink symbol behind it. David I can sense you are frustrated but you have to ask. It is certainly better to jump with others and I'm sure that there are many people at Orange that regularly help new jumpers but...... you have to ask otherwise most if not all of them are NOT mind readers. Many people do solo jumps for a variety of reasons and many of those jumpers not including you on their jumps probably think you are doing what you want to do. Just my two cents. According to the SIMS, any USPA instructional rating holder can give refresher training to B, C, or D licensed jumpers. It does not take an instructor. A coach IS a USPA instructional rating holder. A coach can also give refresher training to an "A" licencsed jumper who hasn't made a skydive within 60 days. And yes they could do a hop and pop and show proficiency depending on the person. Perhaps I wasn't very clear with this analagy. I meant that both the teacher's aid and the professor both had way more knowledge than their students and that to teach the basics both were very qualified. Put another way most people know how to add and subtract and can help children learning this concept without being a teacher just like most coaches can teach new students how to track or do a diving exit. They have the skills to work with NEW skydivers and help them get their "A" which is the primary reason the USPA coaches rating exists. I said it once that the Skydive U course is a great course and has higher standards which should allow a person graduating from that course some good tools to help new skydivers. That said I believe that a USPA coaches course provides good tools as well and while the methods may differ IMO they both get the job done. The skill set isn't complicated to work with rookie skydivers. Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
