I love working for a company that pays for 5 jumps a month as a corporate perk and also when the president says, "Screw work, let's leave early and go make some jumps. Ted Strong rocks!!!! Well Scott I work for Strong Enterprises and it sounds like it is probably too late to talk you into getting a Quasar lol but I'm sure you will enjoy your Talon. It normally takes us 3 to 5 days because our process sends the harness and container to different stations depending on the operation(binding, single needle, double needle, 5 cord, FF, E thread etc) Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Welcome to the sport and your new addiction. You are definitely liviing in a skydiving mecca and like most true believers you will start giving away your paycheck in order to skydive. However, if your instructors haven't already emphasized it, remember to save money back for beer. I think one of my better social blunders was when I asked this girl with one arm if she was right or left handed. Lucky for me she smiled and held up her one arm and told me to guess. Hey Vallerina, I was looking forward to meeting you at couchfreaks this year but if you were there I didn't get the chance to say hello. So maybe if I'm really lucky, I'll get my chance to meet the famous belly dancer from Chicago at Titusville lol. I live in Orlando so if you will need a ride to the DZ, let me know. Dear Jane, Hey I'm sorry but Buck won't be coming home tonight because his plans have changed. So come on up to Iowa and get some of your own corn fed deer and hopefully not with your car. lol The farmers up here love to see hunters. It is my 80+ year old dad in the 2nd pic and me in the 3d pic. My dad still gets a deer every year with his muzzle loader. Go dad!!!!!! On another note there is an otter coming to the Couchfreaks home DZ in Winterset, IA this weekend AND don't forget to bring your costume because there is a best costume party. Hey Cocheese, I have a 36" coker and going down the road it just rocks. However, it probably wouldn't work real well around the DZ because it sits really high and doesn't go over grass real well. I also have a mountain uni and that works pretty good for grass, dirt, curbs, pavement, etc. However, it really depends on the DZ because if yours has mostly concrete then a smooth tire 24" would probably also be fun. Hey Skymama, I enjoyed meeting you at Deland and hopefully we can do a jump together the next time. My wife and I commented on the guy walking around in his underwear but we just thought it was a Florida thing lol. Boy whoever took the pics of the naked rock climbers had something on their lens because there are these black lines that cover parts of the pictures I'm glad HH doesn't have a camera like that on this site

Hey J_ung, I did look at the article you posted and it looks like the person made the mistake and it wasn't the gear. Any gear whether skydiving or rock climbing needs to be understood or accidents/death can occur. Nobody likes them but hopefully they can be learned from. Before any rapell happens ideally the carabiner is loaded from the standing end and there isn't any slack that would cause the rope to go over the gate. I'm sure you would agree that under no circumstances do you want the rope over the gate. However, like you I would rather talk about boobies or better yet see new pics of some RC girls, lol Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.

Why would you say that? I love to Austrailian rappel and doing it from an overhang cliff that is 150 foot down to the bottom is just plain fun. Granted it could be a little harder on the rope than just creeping down but where is the thrill in that. LOL Other than that it is just as safe as any other type of rappel except you brake in front of you instead of behind you. Granted it is not a rappel for beginners because you need to commit and do the rappel in one move from the top of the overhang to the bottom of the cliff or you will do a flip on the rope but many good rappellers whether going frontwards or backwards do it in one bound just for kicks and grins. Of course I agree its stupid to try and do it dwon a rock wall even though I have seen it as I'm sure you have. Take your baby to the DZ and let her jump. That's what I did and my baby loved it. Of course my baby was 21 years old at the time. And now to quote RkyyMtnHigh,"Woooo Hoooo Wooo Hooo Hooo" My baby just got her "A" last month. I think that most of the people that work in this business are great BUT I rarely get a response to an email or a promised phone call in a timely manner. Of course I don't expect it because most places have a pretty small staff that wear multiple hats and they aren't sitting by the phone or waiting by the computer for emails. Maybe this means that they are more relaxed but I like to think that they are just extremely busy. That said I have found that 3 weeks usually means 4-6 and that the squeaky wheel does get the grease lol Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
