  1. According to Black's Law Dictionary: Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. Stop using racist Seinfeld references, please. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  3. I realize that your only way to try and save face after putting your foot in your mouth like that, is to change the context of the issue and try and turn it into a discussion about the definition of "all". But the fact is, the topic of the conversation back in message 15 where your erroneous post was initiated, was over whether Libya and Iran are the same philosophically, or not. And you were flat wrong. They are both Muslim countries, with 95% and 97% majorities. The remaining few percentage points has no influence on anything there. You were in such a hurry to bash someone's view, that you didn't check your facts first. And now instead of admitting your mistake, you're trying to swallow your foot even deeper. You posted: You do realize that the Shia and the Sunnis do not always agree, philosophically (and politically) speaking, right? The current civil war in Iraq comes to mind as but one example where there is a little bit of tension between the two groups. You are right, though, they are both Muslim. Just like Catholics, Mormons, Rastafari, Southern Baptists and Eastern Orthodoxy Christians are all Christian. To quote another poster you, "[y]ou were in such a hurry to bash someone's view, that you didn't check your facts first. And now instead of admitting your mistake, you're trying to swallow your foot even deeper." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. Fixed it for you. Gravity, like evolution, is "only" a theory. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. I think some also fail to consider the audience to which Jesus spoke. He spoke to relatively small groups of people, not the entire world. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. From physicsweb: Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. It's a perfect tattoo for prison. The guy's getting raped in prison by Bubba the lifer. Which is more likely to be Bubba's fantasy, giving Blondie a facial, or stabbing Blondie in the chest? Of course if Bubba wants a BJ from Blondie, Tattoo Man's SOL. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. Wouldn't that have been about a century before Jesus was born? Pretty hard to believe Tacitus was referring to Jesus. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  9. Cocaine is VERY deadly to pregnant women! I would much rather she smoke than do cocaine. Placental abruptions are MESSY! Per 100,000 users, cocaine kills fewer than tobacco. That does not imply either is safe or non-deadly. Using either during a pregnancy is a bad idea. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  10. Cocaine is not physically addicting. On the other hand, there's crack... Cocaine is quite addictive. Crack is, also, but not the "one hit and you're instantly an addict" kind of addictive that was once believed. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. We are talking dead users per 100,000 users and not people right? In that case I think crack would be a very good bet. Cheers, Vale I can't find any crack specific stats, but cocaine in general is not as deadly as tobacco. I would be reluctant to believe crack is any different. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  12. I wasn't commenting about your age. My point is that we hear about the melting pot when we are kids, before most of us are old enough to see just what implications such an analogy implies. This is exactly the same melting pot now as before, in the sense that it is an ever changing dynamic process. The America of yesteryear is never going to return. That is a good thing. It isn't that yesteryear was necessarily bad, it's that we are a nation of change. We are not a static culture, we never have been, and likely we never will be. That is the best thing about America. I very much hope that is what our servicemen put their lives on the line for. Additional cultures increase our nation's depth and strength. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. We are still a melting pot. You're just old enough now to see evidence that it is an ongoing, dynamic process. Melting pot implies adding to the culture, enabling that culture to gradually change and become more diverse. It is the American way. If platinum is melted into a pot of molten gold, only the fool expects the result to be pure gold (or pure platinum). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. Don't get me wrong, I think widespread bicycle use in the US would go a long way to help solve more than one problem we have. However, I've noticed locally a lack of available bicycle parking, including signs prohibiting chaining bikes to signs and such. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. I'd say they work for "three hots and a cot." Slaves were given as much. Do you consider them to have been paid laborers? It would cost me $50 or more a day to eat as well as I ate in the Army, including during basic training. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  16. Source If prisons worked to deter crime, the US should have the lowest crime rates in the world. The US imprisons more people than any other nation in the world, both in terms of absolute numbers (over 2 million, half or more of which are non-violent offenders) and per capita (714 per 100,000 of population). Being a police state does not seem to reduce crime. Perhaps a different approach would be better. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  17. Perhaps "The Designer" just did a rotten job. Like "The Decider?" Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  18. I think the sheer number of ethnic restaurants in America is a great example of how immigrants tend to bring their culture with them. They always have, and likely always will. America is a melting pot of foreign cultures. It has never been stagnant. Hopefully it will never be so in the future. People should learn about, rather than fear and hate, that which they do not understand. Here you begin to make sense. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  19. I challenge you to find an illegal drug that kills as many users (per 100,000) as tobacco, or even alcohol. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  20. Only because of the help I've received. Thanks. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  21. What happens when the application doesn't get the processor time it wants? I have a G3 900MHz, and I usually have several apps open and being used at any given time. So the *.rar files are essentially to full bittorrent files available on the sites as a manual transmission is to an automatic transmission, sort of? My understanding is that a bittorrent file is already broken into small fragment, the site serves as a search engine, and the software, in this case Azureus, downloads all the pieces from various computers, and puts everything back together. The *.rar files sound similar, but it sounds like you have to do much of it yourself. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  22. I'd forget my napkins without the drive thru. Actually, I avoid the drive thru whenever possible convenient. Gas is too expensive for me to sit idling. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  23. Perhaps a better question might be "What did you just ask me?" Hint: I use a Mac because I am computer illiterate stupid. I've picked up a bit of knowledge here and there, but mostly I'm ignorant. When a file completes, I drag and drop it into my iTunes library and it works. Does that offer any information? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  24. I'm fairly certain that it is my settings that is causing Azureous to crash on me, but I don't know which specific settings are to blame. I don't generally have a problem with Java. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  25. I would be interested in your justification for that position. From my perspective: The WMD threat was bogus. A significant Iraq / al Qaeda connection didn't exist. Iraqis are dying today at a rate faster than under Saddam. There is far less stability in Iraq now than before our invasion. We have turned Iraq into a terrorist breeding ground, making America and the rest of the world a less safe place. We have consequently also lost ground in Afghanistan. Unless we were just pissed that Saddam wasn't killing his citizens quickly enough, I don't see how we can possibly consider the current path to be the "right thing." Math tutoring available.
