I resent you even asking me this!!! And, FYI, the voices in my head no longer like you! Keeping in mind, this is a skydiver forum. I think the proper question to ask would be, How crazy are you? .....time to put the aluminum foil back on my head. The aliens are calling. Proz just dropped off his new G-11 and it seems to be identical. I'll put together a mount for you. How wide is the mount plate on yours? Send pics and dimensions. Call me when you get a chance. For those who are wondering, I've made a mounting plate for the G-10/11 that uses the strap mount to stabilize the camera so you can get at the battery and card without removing the camera. Solid, secure and easy access.... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Nice observation! What I did was, cut the head off a nylon threaded bolt. I use it as a stud with the brass thum screw to attach the ringsight. I have the safety of the nylon stud, and the ease of adjustment. It seems to work pretty well. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Just a link would be nice. However, National Camera has them in stock. I only mention this because I have 2 within 5 minutes of my house. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Your Personal Attack would be more effective if you add a comma before and after the word, "Idiot", so that the person more easily can see what name you are calling him. Why make the moderators' jobs extra difficult. However, maybe I mis-read your statement, and this was a "Canopy Course for Idiots". These things are very specialized these days. It's hard to keep up. KKeenan, I believe that was a passive aggressive personal attack????? Nicely done! Back on task here.... Does the OP have any idea what altititude he finally pitched at? Or, did you look at your altitude when finally in the saddle? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
Finished! It all bench tested great! Now, I'm looking for a ride to 13K. Weight and balace are good. Way lighter than the Nikon and TRV. My neck feels better already. I can't waight to swap these cameras out for something even smaller..... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Pilot chute tangled around leg

I, like others above, will disagree with your numbers. However, you need to make your own "hard deck" decisions!!! If you're not comfortable leaving the aircraft below 5K, then don't! If you need to pull by 4,500 to feel confident, then 4,500 it is. Just make sure everyone is aware of your breakoff and pull altitudes. Practice your hop n pops up higher so you have time to get stable if stuff happens. Once you figure out the stability thing, you'll be ready to go lower. Don't let this scare you off. You just identified an area (actually, several areas) where you need some work/practice. Not least of which is altitude awareness. When stuff hits the fan, there's always time to check your altitude! A question only you can answer for yourself is this….. Did I go into panic mode? If your response to an emergency situation is “PANICK”, to the point that you don’t think straight, then maybe this sport is not for you. It sounds like you dealt with the situation, got it cleared, and saved your life. Sometimes, panic mode happens when you’re on the ground and have time to think about what just happened. That’s normal. Glad everything turned out o.k. -
I have some videos of a local jumper doing these. Interesting (or scarry depending on perspective) to watch her main opening along side a tube. She is a national champion freestyle flyer with thousands of jumps. Be careful and make sure you rig it correctly. Check around and talk to jumpers with experience doing this.

I just finishe the restoration on this one last spring..... It's a shafty, but still an 1100 Kawi. They just never die. Drive em hard, they can take it. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

I haven't jumped it yet. However, the camera angles are the same as the TRV that was previously on the helmet. That was working fine. The Lense for the G-10 does not show up when video is in full wide angle. Plus, that's a filter cover which could come off if needed. I've just finished the mounting plate for my Nikon. I had to lower it a bit to accomodate that problem. Final pictures will be posted tomorrow. Till then....... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Yep, there was the S-3 400, the 500 and the legendary 750 tripples. The 750 was the fastest thing around until the Z1 900. Great bikes when they got wound up. Wwwwhaaaaaaaaaaa!! The Zeds are bullet proof. You can get manuals online (DVD or CD) which will show you everything. I love mine. Very easy to work on. Take the forks off (very easy to do) take just the forks in to have them rebuilt. If you don't know what your doing it will save you some time and headaches. How many miles are on it? Cloth will mold to complex curves. Use a chip brush to "dab" at the material to wet it and lay it down (don't paint). It will move around and form to any shape as long as it's not too crazy. Also, use an aluminum laminating roller to help roll out the resign. Just be careful not to "frey" material from the edges. I have students making a Supermileage car out of these materials. It's not that hard to learn and is easy to do. Practice on a piece of scrap so you don't ruin your plug. Call me if you need help. Express Composites in Minneapolis sells everything you'll need. Ask for Jim, he's very knowlegable and always willing to help. http://www.expresscomposites.com/ Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Pink Floyd, where is he now??

1980.......The plan was to meet at Floyd's house(St. Paul, MN) early in the morning, watch the very first space shuttle take off on TV, then, hop in my van and drive to Z-Hills for the Easter Boogie. As fate would have it, the shuttle was delayed due to weather. It would not take off for another 24 hours. We all looked at each other and said, "24 hours? Hell, we can make it to Florida by then if we speed all the way. We drove pretty fast, made it on time to see the very first shuttle lift off. Very Cool. We spent the rest of the week jumping at Z-Hills. Dave loved it and didn't ever want to leave. He came back home with us but moved there shortly after that. I don't think he ever looked back. The few times we saw him after that, Z-Hills was all he talked about. If you find him, tell him Livieri says hello. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
I’m almost done. I just have to attach the Finley sight, insert the liner, some electronics, then clean & test. Here are some photos. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

Mounting a GoPro on a Bonehead Mindwarp
skyjumpenfool replied to jman83's topic in Photography and Video
I have a bonehead camera mounting plate that is made for the mindwarp. PM me if you need one. It's in good shape. I just re-did my helmet and don't need it. It would be great for a go pro. Mike mike_livieri@rdale.org Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky." -
It’s the same G-10 mount. It's been trimmed down to fit the new setup. Let me know if you need one. I'll start cutting. The Still lens Steveorino is referring to is a filter adapter. I like it because it protects the camera lens. What you see in those previous pics are the cameras placed on top of the unfinished helmet for fitting and testing. As shown, it does show up in the video. The final mounting was done today and the video camera placement is actually forward a bit. It does not show up at full wide angle. You can't see in those photos, but the two cameras are slightly offset to allow for the filter adapter. I've tested the cameras pretty well to make sure I'm not getting alot of parallex. Tomorrow I’ll take and post pics of the finished setup. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

As per recommendations from other threads, TV setting is what I used for tandems (I’ve only used it a couple of times because we’re set up for 35mm) I could easily get 20 door/freefall shots. Kerry was playing around with the manual focus and found he could get even more. Check out the other G-10 threads, they discussed this. I've attached a couple of photos. Keep in mind I have to resize these to upload to DZ.com. PM me if you want to see the full size files. The quality is really quite good (camera quality not to be confused with the photographer’s skill ).

We've played with vacuum bagging. It's messy and a lot of work. I've just finished the plug for the video camera cover which will enclose the CX-100 and hinge open to allow easy access to hype eye, power, and preview/upload. These pics show the camera mount with the cameras temporarily fitted up. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."

It's a work in progress, but here is the latest. I'm in the progress of molding the carbon fiber video cover which will open to allow Hype Eye and power hook up. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
