I too know of many good honest Attorneys! However, after I was injured (my own damn fault! Stupid in action!) Several lawyers came to visit me (unsolicited) in the hospital to tell me how I could get all my medical bills paid and come out smelling like a rose!! I told them all to exit my room thru that 7th floor window. 12 weeks in the hospital and all the bills are paid. I didn't have to sue anyone. First and foremost - I get it - I am not going to touch a camera until I have 200 jumps, but . . . many of the same people who have quoted the USPA recommendations for camera jumps to me totally ignore the guidelines for low turns. I find it disengenuous to have swoopers quoting USPA guidelines to me. Camera flying, swooping, or making love to beautiful women.... there all the same! You have to find safe ways to practice if your going to survive long enough to ever get good at it! Find ways to practice the skills... for camera flying that is. Here's something I did and it was very helpful.... I twisted a piece of single strand wire to replicate a ring sight. Tape it on to your helmet. Pretend it’s a ring sight and practice looking through it to keep your head still and aimed at a subject. Using your peripheral vision takes practice. Dirt dive the jump as you would any other jump, but with the focus being the ringsight practice. Altitude awareness is going to be a problem. How are you going to see your altimeter without moving your head?? Etc... Plus, I don't think there's a minumum # of jumps before you can tape a piece of wire to your helmet! How many shots can you take of of tandem?? My G-10 took as many as I needed?? More than we're getting with a 24 exposure roll of film (film being the limiting factor). Good camera for the job!! But, I also have the option of switching cameras and I can easily mount my Nikons. So, the question would be... Is the G-11 a good camera fot the task at hand? I love my little G-10. See the pics of today's progress... Polished the plug, waxed it and applied mold release, sandable grey gel coat applied, hand laid with fiberglass matt and polyester resign. Then, I pulled mold from the plug and cleaned it and the helmet. The last pic is of the mold with the first carbon fiber part laid up. Tomorrow I'll pull the part and see what I have.

answer... They are trying to become more experienced camera fliers. Define Newer?? At some point, we're all new to this shit! I'm not talking about someone doing his 200th jump with his brand new camera filming a tandem. But, someone who's been flying camera for a couple of years and is just starting to film tandems. Everybody's gotta start somewhere. Anyway, How about this for a contest: Best shot of a camera flier (for training purposes). They could then be used to discuss/critique us "newer" camera fliers. Not just pictures you've taken, but pictures of YOU taking pictures?? Or better yet, pictures of you training a younger camera flier. Now we’re getting somewhere!

Carbon Fiber! And No!! The joint compound makes a great shaping puddy. Cheap, easy to use, dries in minutes with a heat gun, sands quickley with a variety of tools. The black stuff is Duratech, a sandable acrylic resign which makes for a really nice smooth plug surface. This process is being used to make molds for the mount and video camera cover. Well, the old TRV is getting replaced with a new CX-100. I can't wait to get the size/weight off my head. Last year I swapped the heavy Nikon for a Cannon G-10 and loved it. So, a helmet makeover is not in process... I'll try to post pics of the process. The goal is a helmet that is clean, snag free, easy to use and durable. Oh, and did I mention that basically I'm a cheap bastard?? Old Mindwarp............... I got it, may as well use it. Cannon G-10............... Small, works great, easy to use. CX-100....................... It is what it is. I love the size and weight. Found a good deal ($339) on e-bay Hype Eye.................... still gotta get one. Wide angle lense........ the one from my TRV will fit. Mounts...................... this is where the fun stars. see attached pics.
