  1. After reading thru this thread I was convinced we were dealing with a Troll. I will take your word that this is a real person? I just recieved a private message from him asking what DGIT is. Ledballoon, this attachment is for you... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  2. No. They are simply happy to not be near you. Ouch! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  3. ...... and DGIT on the soles of your sneekers? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  4. Um. Nobody reminded him yet? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  5. Thanks for posting. With this info, I'd like to modify my post above... If you're doing RW, learn to fly with the group and STAY with the group. Never give up on completing the dive AS PLANNED. This will help you learn to>>> swoop, if you need to add weight, fall rate control, and a number of other valuble skills. Rethink the camera until you're RW skills are up to speed. Not sure of your jump #'s but you should be competent in the discipline your filming. You won't get picked on here because your looking to learn and improve. I respect that. I'm learning here because you posted here. Thanks.
  6. Without more info, this would all be speculation... but, If this guy was in the group below him, he should have concentrated on closing in on his group. Instead, he looses sight of them. The SIM recommends being competent in the discipline you're filming if you intend to wear a camera. Clearly, he does not seem to have the skills necessary to complete this dive flow (if he was with this group) and therefore, should maybe reconsider the camera.
  7. Not to many sport/sport touring bikes have back rests (or sissy bars as we call them). So, you need to be a little more creative.
  8. OK Mark, for us non-rigger types, are there rigs that lend themselves better to certain AAD's than others? And, more importantly, should this be a consideration when buying? Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  9. Bigger problem... Most bikes today do not have good attachment points. Too fricking much plastic. But, again, good solid straps to keep s#!+ secure. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  10. Alright! My new favorite thread. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  11. Kevin is an inspiration! He is, indeed, the real deal!!!
  12. Oh look another "Child of the CORN" ... not sure how to interpret that? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=children%20of%20the%20corn Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  13. I sold a canopy last week. The customer and I e-mailed info back and forth on Weds morning. We talked on the phone Weds afternoon. He Paypal'd me Thurs. morning, I shipped the package Thurs. afternoon. He got the package Monday morning. I got a thank you Monday afternoon. Ask good questions and things usually go good. However, some people are not always on top of things... hope this is what's going on and that your package arrives soon. I like to think most skydivers are trustworthy.
  14. Agreed. I'm a fan of strapping gear down to the bike as opposed to wearing it. Sorry about the image, it was 103 degrees. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  15. Pick a helmet that will work for you. Check with your instructors first. Ask the UP-jumpers for advice. There are advantages and disadvantages to every helmet style. Looking cool should be low on the decision criteria. A good open face helmet works great for several disiplines. You may also want a full face for others. My sugestion... buy a good open face halemet for starters. It doesn't have to cost alot. Example - Fairwinds are about $75. Later on, when you buy a full face, you'll still find the older open face helmet usefull. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  16. This provides a great foundation for which to start. The document we're looking to create is not for public use/view. It is for a written record of conversation and actions. I get the motivation here. But, tread carefully! Abuse of this idea could be very easy and very harmful. Due process should be considered. Especially if this is to become publically shared info. 20. On my ZX11, I have Givi Bags and I lay my gear bag across that and strap it down. It all ends up heavy, but doable. Blue skies and twisted hiways... Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  21. Wow! .... just WOW? Um, not buying that statement. You came here looking for advice. Read all that you can here, good or bad, and discuss it with your instructors. Not everything posted here (especially from me ) is good info, but you're an adult. It's always good to hear both sides of any story. Or, do what the S.O. has suggested. .... but then please change your user name to SkyPuppet. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
  22. It did, and it was talked about above. I was simply commenting on a common problem that can be very dangerous. If you look at the picture above, I grabbed that screen as soon as you could see the canopy opening. Note, the uneven risers and hands all over them. Including, fingers already in the brake handle. My perspective here, but, I'd say the body position and the grabbing hands are a bigger issue, especially from a training aspect. A canopy can open with a step thru without the line twists and spin. You still may be looking at a chop, but without the line twists/spin, you'd be dealing with a low speed malfunction giving you more time to think/act. Not to mention, you'd have a better chance of coming out of the cutaway stable. And... less chance of a hard cutaway do to line twists or spin.
  23. Something that caught my attention... She is grabbing at the risers of both the main and the reserve as the canopies are opening!! This is probly what caused the initial line twists and also affected the reserve opening sequence. Very, very bad habit. Lesson... fly stable during the opening sequence. Continue to use your hands to fly your body thru the opening of the canopy, givingt it a chance to open smoothly.
  24. Ummm. I wear Several! Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
