All of us take a risk every time we get on a plane. If you think the people on the load create to much of a risk, then do not jump!!! This type of litigation will kill the sport. William

a chin cup has a lot to do with keeping the camera. The chin straps on skydiving helmets go under the chin. This prevents the hemet from rocking backwards but not forwards. Yes it is possible to do hundreds of jumps with only a chin strap and not lose your camera helmet, but if things happen just right the helmet can roll forward and come off your head. The cup in itself is only for impact protection. If you use a football style chinstrap it will do the same thing as far as keeping the camera helmet from rolling forward. It just will not provide any impact protection. Ever see a football player's helmet come off? Usually when the top snaps come undone and the chinstrap rolls under the chin and becomes simular to what you have on a skyding helmet's chinstrap. A force still has to be applied to the helmet in a precise way, but if so, it will come off. If you fly camera, get a chincup. William

Seems like a nice place. I only jumped there one day. I would like to find a place where I can also do some work. William

do a search, this has been brought up a couple of times before. William

I have jumped at a couple of places around here. I went to Orange and Hartwood. i went down to CSS a couple of weeks ago because i have a lot of friends down there and they jump on fridays. William

I usually jump at Moss Point, MS but i have been recalled to the Marine Corps so I am in Quantico.

More info than we needed Quickdraw. William

This weather sucks. Since I have been recalled to the marine corps I only have off every other weekend. And when we are weathered out that means I am out for almost a month. Can't someone build a giant dome for an indoor skydiving facility? (just kidding, before you bring it up I know how ridiculous this would be). William

Another question for swoopmasters
prost replied to LawnDart21's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
This will shorten your swoop quite a bit, I use it if i want my swoop to end sooner, like when trying to end on a certian spot. William -
One other thing to remember about wide angle len's. A .5 in one brand might not be equal to a .5 in another brand. It should be but I have found that some times it isn't even close. William

I have jumped several different JVC models and there are several other people at my drop zone with them. I have never seen them have a problem with opening shock. That being said, the next camera I buy will be a Sony. Not because they work any better but because most things are standardized to Sony. Example: the cam eye will not work with a JVC. William

Not the spot you want to pic to land out. William
