Ok, who is it that is jobless right now? William
-
That was in my wing suit. It is nothing but nylon if you tuck in the wings, but I think I could go a little faster on my belly if I had too. William
-
Belly--150 I have done video of sit flys on my belly. Sit and head down-----Not sure...no pro-trak coming out of the corner on final------really fast William

I all most fell out of my chair. What does that tell you? William

This sucks for me big time. Moss Point is my home DZ and I am video guy there but I have been involuntarily recalled to the Marine Corps. I don't know yet if they are going to let me go home for the Boogie. Can you believe they don't recognize Mardis Gras as a holiday here. If I do get to go, I am all set to do the boogie video this year. The boogie always produces some great shots. I have another guy lined up to shoot additional footage. But if they don't let me go...... So damn it write your congressman or something. Tell them to let me go. William

I can tell you for cetain that this is not true. I am from this area and even know some Lousiana cops. Also I drive through there all the time with out of state plates and have never heard of anyone having a problem. William

Reserve spring loaded pilot chutes are normally much stronger than student main pilot chutes. I have seen a lot of students pilot chutes come back down and bounce off them. I have to say that I have not seem many reserve deployments, but the ones I have seen were not even close to stalling. William

Definately talk to the camera man. And if you are a tandem master, do not let anyone get on the skydive without asking the camera man. When I am shooting a video, I can not look around for other people. Aslo, on the bottom end I need a lot of room as do most camera fliers. I will ususally float up just a bit to get the chute coming off the back and the as I fall past them I transition to my knees and then into sort of a head down slide and do one orbit. Makes for a good video, but no one had better be near me. On top of all this, the tandems normally have a bad spot, so I need to pull as high as possible. This does not give me a lot of time to look around as I have to go into massive deceleration for deployment. If someone comes along I just go on my knees, unless I really know them. William

What a loss. I am sure we could find some good uses for that video. William
-
Too bad it isn't on video. William

Good article Dave, but I don't think most people will read all of it. The ones who will most likely already understand it. William

And I thought I was the only one who noticed this. William

You will find that there are different Jedeis. He changed the design as he went. I have even seen two Jedeis of the same size made in the same month that are made differently. So what works for one might not work for the other. William

I am not saying that any of them will not work. It is only that the FXC is the only one I have experience with on a converted halo rig. And I know that from where we set the FXC, it will open. As far as the minimum wing loading on a halo reserve, no one that jumps that rig will come even close to being that light. Most of the guys that we put on it are pushing 300 or even over it. For them this is the way to go. If the student is smaller we have other rigs. William
-
Ok, this isn't fun anymore.
-
We use a FXC instead of a cypress.
-
You guys suck!
-
Hey, who stole my car?
-
Or you can use a Halo reserve. That is what we use for really big students. 380 sq. ft. Nothing like having a tandem on your back. William
-
Make that 205. William
-
Right now you have 204. Click on your nick and it will tell you. William
-
Yeah, at least she got up from it.

I wouldn't really even think about using my FX. I was just trying to be funny. But I was thinking of using exactly what you mentioned, a Triathalon 190. I have had good luck sinking Tris. Anything you would recommend smaller than a Manta? I don't want something so big that the only time I would consider putting the rig on is for a demo. William
