Yes, he was in the marine corps with me and is going to OCS this summer. He is going to be a jag officer. He also started jumping the same day I did but isn't jumping now do to school.

I watch people of all experience levels with bad landing technique. It seems that a lot of people just stop learning canopy control at a certain point. They are very concerned with there perfomance in freefall but as long as they make it to the ground ok, they are satisfied with their canopy skills. Even if you aren't interested in any canopy disciplines like accuracy or swooping you should always strive to perfect your landing technique. William

not parachutes in general, but a specific sport parachute. For them to launch a study on a particular sport parachute without outside input is unbelievable. William

That isn't a cross braced canopy. Chuck was refering to a new canopy coming out. There are compitition cobalts that have a different nose than the regular ones and there is a mod that can be done to regular cobalts to improve swoop performance as well.

Swooped a deer once. Not really on purpose. I was landing off in some straw. At first I just day the tail and thought it was a rabitt. It heard me coming and jumped up it front of me. A second later and I would have caught it. Scared the crap out of the deer and me. William

Why would NASA be testing sport parachutes? I can't see this being a big enough issue for them to get invovled. Where is this testing being conducted? Or is it that someone who works for NASA is testing them? William

Well if two jump tickets cost $40, then the coach gets $10. This seems fair. William

Oh yeah, he seemed to be a great pilot (excluding that one landing). And he actually did a very good job once he realized what had happened. He slid it straight until the speed started to drop and then slid it gently into the grass. If he would have panicked, the plane could have been totaled. I know he felt terrible. William

You can also get multi suits from tony suits. I have had good service from them. William
