  1. A lot of them are most likely just curious people passing through. Maybe non skydivers that sign up but haven't got into jumping yet. William
  2. If you get a Tony Camera suit they have an option to attach the wings in the front instead of the bottom of the arm. This will let you sit in your camera suit. You will want the suit faster than your freefly suit. You can use the wings t oslow you down to make up for this and will have a huge range in the sit and belly. I can sit in mine slow enough to film a tandem or fast enough to stay with someone head down. William
  3. Does anyone jump with this camera? Anything you can tell me about it as far as jumping goes. I am looking to move to something with broadcast quality and this seems like the lightest camera that will do the job. William
  4. I don't think they have been jumping that westwind lately. Our plane was broke and we leased it for the weekend. The pilot landed without putting the landing gear down (ouch). Made for quite a show. They just started working on it after sitting there for several months. William

    Age?

Started jumping when I was 22 and I am 26 now. William
  6. Last time I checked, Mike Mullin's place in Tennesse was not a Uspa group member. Usually this stems from some disagreement with USPA. I think the deal at Mullin's place is him flying his kids so young.
  7. 360 did he actualy complete 360 degree turns? William
  8. If it comes down to it almost any gear dealer will take a trade in. You might get a littler less for it because the dealer needs to resale it for a profit but you will have a lot less hassle. William
  9. Yeah sorry but I Think they just want your account number and info so they can steal from you. William
  10. but this incident was a fatality. So I assume they were not hooked up at all. William
  11. Don't worry i am not planning on trying this. I was on www.relativeworkshop.com and if you pull up their list of tandem fatalities, #1 is "TI attempted to hook up student in free-fall (no drogue). " Does anyone know the circumstances surronding this fatality? William
  12. Go to www.relativeworkshop.com and click on tandems and read the tandem fatalities. # 1 says "TI attempted to hook up student in free-fall (no drogue). " I would like to know the circumstances to this. William
  13. Ok Bill, This post just convinced me to keep using a hard reserve handle. Before i could not think of a good reson to keep it as I was thinking along th lines of pull forces. But if things got wild, it would be a lot easier to find that silver handle. William
  14. OK what do you riggers think of the rigger's courses offered. Are they a good way to go or is it a lot better to train under a rigger. Also what is the pass rate of the rigger's exam after one of these courses. I just saw an ad for a rigger's course coming up in Chicago. William
  15. If you have good basic skills you can land either canopy without a doubt. That said, just remember that there are going to be times when not everything will go right. You should always jump 1 to 2 sizes up from the smallest canopy you think you should jump. This gives you some room for error. There is obviously already a huge difference in size of a Halo rig and a 175. Look at it this way. If you buy the 175, you run a little higher chance of wanting to downsize in the near future. If you buy the 160, you run a little higher chance of putting yourself in the hospital. William
  16. I am from this area and am wondering what dz you are refering to? William
  17. Some people are just looking for the one person that will tell tham, "It's ok, go ahead and buy that 69" William
  18. Fom my experience, it depends on the canopy you are flying. PD canopies seem to better in brakes. Icarus canopies seem to do better on rear risers. William
  19. Whoops....you are right. Wasn't paying attention last night. I nmy mind I was seeing bill gates. He is haunting me now. Guess that is what I get for reading posts late at night. William
  20. Ron Jeremy and Bill Gates....weeeeeeeee!

    Post time

This is my 200 post. It got me thinking. I get bitched out for spending to much time on here and my girlfriend is a skydiver. Some of you have 10 times as may posts as I do. What do you do? Post during work? William
  22. Some people do pull down on the rear risers but I still don't think loops would help. William
  23. The rear riser pressure isn't heavy enough to need loops. Plus it would take longer to grab the loops than just grab the riser. William
