One more child molester off the street. I was involved!
LongWayToFall replied to floridadiver81's topic in The Bonfire
I'm all in favor of beating the guy to death, but how did he get your address in the first place? I would love to see how the chat room conversation went down. If the wife knew what was going on and gave him the address to the house, she almost deserves a beat down as well. She could have gotten all of you killed, no good. That being said, hope the guy rots in jail -
Isn't it better to grab belts from the front? Sure, in a nose down crash everyone slides forward a foot and that might hurt some people in the nose, but this would prevent people sliding backwards if the plane was nose high and almost in a stall. Everyone sliding back a foot might be the difference between stalling and crashing, and recovering.

When is the most dangerous time in a jumpship?
LongWayToFall replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
From the point where the plane cannot stop on the runway during takeoff, to 1000ft. -
They say he was not injured. Watch it again. I was pissed at first, but when they said that, it does kinda turn it into a "blooper"

I don't really know what the league involves. If you find more details, post up!

Why not just buy 20 coached minutes, and then concentrate on jumping? Make sure to get off peak time. 20 minutes will teach you a ton!! 2 minutes is not enough to get much done.

Cool - Another way to try kill yourself ...
LongWayToFall replied to shropshire's topic in The Bonfire
That is pretty cool! -
That sounds bomb. Salsa got me thinking about guacamole..... Mmmmmmmm. You can buy food heated up at the store, but sometimes I buy it cold and heat it up myself.

I got to go to 18k on my level 3 aff. Cloud cover prevented my exit at 15k and when we got up to 18 for a couple up jumpers, it was clear. Woo hoo

What Diseases/Conditions are Still Okay to Laugh At?
LongWayToFall replied to lawrocket's topic in The Bonfire
THAT WAS A GOOD SHIIIIIIIIT!!!!! hahahhaha. I love tourettes guy. Lawrocket- I think anything that is funny is worth laughing at. Don't take it personal man, doing so just brings you down. Example: Just because I permanently lost control of my bowels, and have to suffer through some hard times, doesn't make the expression on the lady's face behind me in the line for the bank any less priceless. -
Ratso of the Spider Skulls MC. Do spiders really have skulls? I was thinking an exoskeleton.....

Making a batch of home-made Limoncello liquor
LongWayToFall replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
I certainly enjoy some of the IPAs we have around here, they pack a punch. However, my wingloading is suffering! When I was at mardi gras there was a store that sold only blended drinks, like margaritas and dacaris. They used everclear, and I think it was responsible for some serious memory damage. At least I think it was......... -
I doubt they would have lights on just to "warn you of their presence." If anything, flashing lights on the side of the road creates rubberneckers who congest traffic and are not paying as much attention to the road. If they are wasting gas just cruising up and down, they had better have a reason. If they are interested in being available for a radio call but not interested in giving citations, they should hang out in a rest stop or something. This way, they can observe traffic for very reckless drivers still.

Making a batch of home-made Limoncello liquor
LongWayToFall replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
No, in california by law the maximum alcohol content available is 151 proof, so bacardi 151, which is a flavored rum (no good for limoncello). I think the strongest vodka is 100 proof. When I was in new orleans they had this stuff called diesel which was 190 proof, I tried to bring some back but security went into my bag and confiscated it. I know nevada has everclear available but even that is a bit of a drive. -
I have had great results with water wetter, it has enough anti corrosion stuff in it to keep the system clean. give it a shot!

Making a batch of home-made Limoncello liquor
LongWayToFall replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
You are lucky you have access to everclear! If I send you some money will you ship me some? I was told that the stronger the alcohol, the more oil will be dissolved out of the peal, giving a fresher and more lemon taste to it. I have never tried it with it, but was told limoncello from italy was made with it. As for your lemon juice, I found this recipe for lemonade that has good reviews. I'm sure you could always spike it a little bit as well! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Best-Lemonade-Ever/Detail.aspx -
Making a batch of home-made Limoncello liquor
LongWayToFall replied to BillyVance's topic in The Bonfire
I made some awhile back, its great stuff! The stronger the booze, the better. If you can get your hands on everclear it is the best. Also, I can second you stating you don't want any of the white stuff, it will mess up a whole batch. I made some with limes once too, it was also very good. From what I can tell, it is preferable to not add any sugar until a month or 2 after you start the batch, and then let it sit for another month or 2. That way the alcohol isn't diluted at all. Right now I have a batch of japanese plum wine (sorta) that is similar to how you make the limoncello, it just uses whole plums instead. Its gunna take 3 years to be totally finished though! Its a good thing I made 5 gallons. -
That's about normal. You can buy this stuff called water wetter that will make your bike run cooler, you use it instead of antifreeze. (not a problem as long as it doesn't get below freezing outside). I went on a motorcycle rally today, the largest in california, there were a couple thousand bikes out. Crazy! It was over 100 degrees out, and allot of stop and go. The sv-650 I was riding was at 216ish when sitting still, my buddies 05 R1 was 220. wash your radiator every once and awhile to get rid of the bugs, and if you ever see it going above 220, make sure your fans are on, because if they fail it can toast your motor. Have fun!

Considering most pets would not be alive if it wasn't for us, I think they have it pretty good. Look at some of the midget dogs, would they survive in the wild? Bred for our entertainment. Death or slavery...... I think pets will take whatever they can get. (pets in my house typically have a better food selection than the humans residing, actually)

back problems from skydiving?
LongWayToFall replied to jephprospect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Best talk to a doctor. But I will say, during my aff my back was hurting and I thought it was from the openings, but turned out I was arching super hard after exit. Knowing this, and stretching, helped me out a bunch. Hope you get it figured out! -
That was badass. Are you guys hiring? I wanna light off fireworks for a living.......
