    I know

So did we ever decide what the real truth is???
  2. Here is some interesting DB Cooper stuff: http://www.naplesnews.com/00/08/florida/d483884a.htm
  3. Nothing wrong with a good debate now and then... So in the USA 30,708 people died gun related deaths in 1998... what is the "civil" part of this? Did capital punishment do anything for those 30,000 people?
  4. What, no ethical debate? Here's to you and here's to me Let's hope that we don't disagree Because if we do, what can we do? Here's to you and me...
  5. Finally the cat is out of the bag... men ARE pigs! Ain't it great, boys?!! Let's wallow in depravity, alcoholitis, and cop-a-feel. I'm a pig and proud of it!!!
  6. So you're smart, huh...?!?
  7. How many innocent people have been put to death by mistake? Capital punishment is so uncivilized... Anyway, Lisa, how is your son's ankle? Frank
  8. Nice to "see" you , Andrea!
  9. Hey, nice pix, special-K!
  10. Hi Erica. Those guys are just giving ya a warm welcome - they're harmless (mainly because they are far away, in places like Europe, and Georgia ... wait a sec - Georgia ISN'T very far is it... you better hide your pins and your pull-ups, Erica! I hope you find this forum as entertaining as I do. Frank
  11. 3000' is the lowest altitude I've jumped from... but like everyone else, I'm always watching my alti as we climb. 1500' is our advised minimum exit altitude. Frank
  12. It seems that any time you have a couple of zeros after something, it is considered significant. Like 100 jumps. And in our virtual community, sometimes we offer up, as our friend Skyhawk, having been appointed "virtual beer referee (or whatever it was we agreed he would be in command of)" would remind us, "virtual beer", to recognize and celebrate those events. And, now that Sangiro has more than 2000 members of the global skydiving community visiting dropzone.com, perhaps a "virtual beer" would be in order! Cheers, Bossman! You're website is always lively, and a great resource for me. Frank
  13. Howdy Billy. Ya, your girlyfriend keeps us entertained, allright...she's a keeper. Hope ya have fun here at DZ.com. I'm working my way up to 3000 jumps, too. Got 79 so far... Frank

    Defrosted!

Huh? Maybe I'm just dumb, but - huh?

    Defrosted!

Hey, man, it's like you were never gone! Now go fly a parachute...
  16. I posted to the earlier thread on this topic, too... the pivot point here is the person who reads your resume or conducts the interview. Some people will be impressed with your skydiving abilities, some will think you are crazy. I think I would include it myself on a resume, just because I worked damn hard to become a skydiver, and I'm proud of my achievment. But like I said, the variable is the person on the other side of the desk.

    Hmph...family!

Ya gotta do what you love, and love what you do. I couldn't spend such a big part of my life here at the tv station if I didn't enjoy my work so much. Carrie, I do think that education is important. Knowledge is power. Get a good education when you are young, because you'll be too busy when you are older to go back and try to catch up. And money DOES matter. You don't see many poor people skydiving, do you? And what does a new rig cost these days??? The trick is to find a profitable career doing something you enjoy. Ya can't go on travelling around the world if you can't afford it! Carrie, even though you have made a decision to not have children of your own, I think you would make a great Mom. You sound like the sort of person who would bring kids into a world full of love, encouragement, and opportunities. FFF, I'll bite: Are ya gonna share your news with us?
  18. If you believe in a deity, that's your business. Still, you should get out and jump if the weather is good because if you're a believer, then you'll be spending eternity with your god anyway... as for the family? Send them a video of you jumping to watch while they are eating dinner!
  19. Jessica, we comin' for ya... better hide the back bacon and the hockey sticks! Hey, miked, you are 1/2 right! I'm 6'6"

    I know

Oopps ... that was me being true to myself...
  21. Ya, I agree with Alex - get out while the getting is good... different story if there IS a door, though
  22. Sheesh... ya try to help a newbie by pointing him towards a useful resource, and ya get dumped on... Nasty? No, that wasn't nasty. You'll know when I'm being nasty. Thanks for the good words Jason and Wesley... Frank
  23. "Sparks" are Girl Guides for 5 and 6 year olds! And yes, I look up all the time from the soccer/baseball fields, particularly when I hear our jump plane up there! Sometimes my kids will hear then see the plane too, then tell their teammates "My Dad is gonna jump outta that plane after lunch..." It's good for the kids to be involved in lots of things - just a few hours ago my 8 year old was marvelling at how she was the best swimmer at the swimming pool birthday party she was at on the weekend - I pointed out to her that it was because Mom and Dad have had het taking her taking swimming lessons off and on since she was just months old...(Carrie, do you have some free time to spend in the pool with my 2 daughters?) she said she's glad to be "signed up" for lots of things. And when she is 18, I'm sure she'll "signed up" for the First Jump Course...
